forms of human rights abuses. On the other hand, improvements in human rights are sometimes attributed to the spread of liberal ideas and movements, which is one of the key dimensions of globalization. Critics say human rights have been adversely affected by globalization for instance right to equality and other socio economic rights. The commitment of the United Nations to the indivisibility of human rights is reflected in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Human rights are the first responsibility of governments.

 Abstract

The spectacular and unprecedented growth of FDI in the global economic landscape over the last two decades has made it an integral part of the development strategy of both the developed and developing nations. It acts as a major catalyst in the development of a country through up-gradation of technology, managerial skills and capabilities in various sectors. Rise in purchasing power, growing consumerism and brand proliferation has led to retail modernization in India. The following article talks about FDI or Foreign Direct Investment in India. Many people are in favour of FDI & many people are against it. But after taking into consideration all the arguments in favour

 Abstract

There was a massive wave of Western multinational investment in the developing world during the first wave of globalization before the 1920s. The subsequent decades of de-globalization saw the proportion of world FDI in developing countries sharply decline, and it has remained far below pre-1914 levels during the second global economy beginning in the 1980s. The working paper shows how management strategies were shaped by context in each historical period which provided a mixture of opportunity and risk.  Abstract

The decentralised planning conceived the concept of Gramasabha with a mission of ensuring people's participation in local planning and in decision making and thereby empowering all weaker sections especially women in multiple dimensions. This paper is an attempt to assess her role as decision maker in GS, and identify those impediments in her participation as well as decision making. This micro level study based on a primary survey examined the problems and prospects of Gramasabha in recognizing women as decision makers. This paper reveals the problems observed by the researcher in the conduct of GS.
