Alcoholism and drug addiction may be conceptualized as crime without victim i.e., addicts himself is the victim who becomes a prey of its misuse. This devastating melody is eroding the roots of social, economic and cultural fibre of Indian society. It gives rise to criminality and criminal behaviour which eventually leads to social organization. Alcoholism and drug related offences being victimless crime; they fall in the category of public order crime or consensual crimes. Alcoholism and drug addiction are indicative of the irresponsibility and weakness of the character of the persons using these intoxicants. The relation between alcoholism and various aggressive and criminal acts is often confirmed by police records and prison statistics which indicate that in the present day there is a considerable increase in such alcoholic criminal episodes. In this article discuss about main causes of alcoholism, drug addiction, international perspective of this problem, illicit drug trafficking and drug addicts and remedial measures.

Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of Medicine, science of life, emphasizes on maintenance of positive health in healthy individuals and alleviation of ailments of diseased one. Acharya Charaka has explained various features of prashashta purusha which is one among the features of healthy individual. Deviation from the features is considered as the nindita pursha i.e forbidden people in the society. Atisthoulya being one among the ashta nindita, is characterized by medomamsa vriddhi, chala sphik, chala udara, chala sthana and ayatopachayaotsaha. In order to cure the disease of the diseased one, it is very crucial to understand the stage of disease. Upadrava is the secondary change produced in a disease, indicates the progress of the disease condition. Ignorance of them in the treatment can further harm the patient. Atisthoulya being a difficult one to manage compared to karshya depicts upadrava like prameha pidaka, vatavikara, kushta, visarpa, meha, kamala, etc. which have been mentioned by our acharyas. In contemporary science the complications of obesity are type II diabetes mellitus, hyperlipidemia, diabetic complications, stroke, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, cirrhosis, exertional dyspnea, sleep apnea, respiratory failure, osteoarthritis, varicose veins etc. Thus, an attempt has been done to understand the occurrence of Upadrava in Atisthoulya conditions for which observational study was carried out among 100 patients and data was collected. Result: Among the 14 Upadrava of Atisthoulya mentioned in the Ayurveda classics, 11 were present in the subjects, of which Dhatukshayajanya vatavyadhi being the most prevalent one and Jwara being the least prevalent one.

Sludge refers to the residual, semi-solid material left from industrial wastewater, or sewage treatment process. It is an unavoidable byproduct of wastewater treatment which creates problems in disposal. Increasingly, strict environmental control regulations have resulted in limitations on the disposal of sludge. The organic elements of sludge are decomposed with time but the inorganic elements can't be de-composed with time and also affects the properties of soil and improves its fertility. Fly ash is a fine particulate material generated by the disintegration of bitumen materials and coal in power plants. The utilization of Fly ash in cement concrete as partial replacement of cement is gaining importance day by day. In this research, the sludge is collected from the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and the Fly ash is collected from the Thermal Power Plant (TPT). In this study we utilized fly ash and wastewater sludge is replaced by 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% and 50% by the weight of fine aggregate and the weight of cement, and conduct the compressive test of concrete to find out the compressive strength. The water cement ratio of 0.55 and 0.45 for M25 and M30 grades respectively.
