Sickle cell disease is a chronic disease characterized by progressive multiorgan failure, particularly involving the liver and kidney. Chronic renal disease occurs in 25% of older adults and results in 50% of their deaths. Patients with sickle cell disease have increased mortality rates from renal failure compared with non sickle cell patients. Sickle cell disease (SCD) produces many structural and functional abnormalities in the kidney, including glomerular abnormalities.. Reduction of renal concentration capacity, urinary acidification, impaired potassium metabolism often observed in these patients. Glomerular filtration rate exceed the normal value in children and adults. Proteinuria is prevalent in 25% cases, microalbuminuria was seen among the Hb SS patients than in Hb AS which is important marker of glomerular injury with Hb SS patients which is associated with reduce creatinine clearance. In the present study we have examined prevalence of renal dysfunction in the individuals with Hb SS and Hb AS. In addition we have tried to establish the correlation between kidney dysfunction and duration of disease.

Public sector banks (PSBs) played a significant role in the development of Indian economy. PSBs role in developing the public infrastructure and financial system of the country is applaudable. PSBs are under continuous scrutiny for its inability in meeting the growing needs of the customers. The continuously decline in market share in the past decade and the growing presence and profitability of private banks questions the efficiency and productivity of the PSBs. The study finds that PSBs productivity is far behind the productivity of private banks. Profit per unit of employee cost of private banks is two times more than PSBs. Revenue per unit of employee cost of private banks is Rs 12.45 crores whereas it is Rs 7.45 crores for PSBs. Profit per branch of private banks is Rs 6.99 crores whereas it is Rs 2.61 crores for PSBs. Business per unit of employee cost is Rs 170.5 crores in private banks and in PSBs it is Rs.147.3 crores

Political representation was initially based on the premise that it deals primarily with individuals. It was believed that through very few women were actually joining politics at a given time; overall improvement in terms of education and employment would necessarily percolate into the political sphere too and their representation would commensurately increase. The trends elsewhere encouraged women as a whole that there is a slow and steady change have been witnessed. However, this paper has conducted over 90 random interviews on the contemporary issues and women need in politics and also including the emerging old age homes and drug menace, many of which were published in Kannada to draw the attention of the public and to have a social vigilance

Jhumpa Lahiri, the celebrated diasporic writer, is known for the exploration of Indian-American realities through her fictional works. Like Other writers of her class, she tries successfully to bring to light the pains and sufferings of Indian-American immigrants. They can neither forget their roots nor can assimilate fully with the society and culture of adopted land. Tracing the 'Third-Space' is very interesting while reading Jhumpa Lahiri as it is the pivotal point of focus in her writings. She excels in picturizing a new model of American identity, though being always tagged as a diasporic writer. Creativity is taken to a new height by a significant enrichment of narrative by Jhumpa Lahiri. She employs socio-cultural and familial past as recurring themes. Here is an attempt to explore immigrant experiences in Lahiri's latest novel The Lowland, which got shortlisted for Man Booker Prize 2013. It emphasizes the significance of time and attitude of generations in the process to get themselves assimilated. For the first generation, strong feelings about the country of their origin are inevitable. From the second generation onward, ties with the homeland get gradually replaced by those of the adopted country. Cultural differences start melting as new generations realize that they belong to America's-global culture. The capacity of American socio-cultural milieu to absorb the 'other' resulted in the emergence of global space. The influence of home culture tortures the immigrants but they turn Americanized as they struggle with their minds. Jhumpa Lahiri delves deep into the souls of indelible characters struggling with displacement, guilt and fear as they try to find a balance between the solace and suffocation of tradition and terror along with the excitement of future into the new set up. But the heart of the matter is that they remain psychologically disturbed as they are made to realise that after all they are 'foreign' in that society. Thus there search for a comfortable zone goes unabated.

Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain) is an American author of such classics as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Innocents Abroad and so on. Although the great American novelist is remembered for his humorous and satirical aspects yet he is the most original and a remarkable writer in every manner. He was a moralist at heart. He was great writer of great thoughts. He all the time used to insist that his task was not creating buffoonery but instructing the people. For this purpose he chose burlesque, feeling that the public is to be coaxed and tickled into understanding. The present article peeps into the greatness of the this American literary legend by lightly touching upon all the literary techniques that he employed to put the American novel on the highest pedestal

Nowadays, online shopping is a fast growing phenomenon. Growing numbers of consumers shop online to purchase goods and services, gather product information or even browse for enjoyment. Online shopping environments are therefore playing an increasing role in the overall relationship between marketers and their consumers. That is, consumer-purchases are mainly based on the cyberspace appearance such as pictures, images, quality information, and video clips of the product, not on the actual experience. As the Internet has now become a truly global phenomenon, the number of Internet users worldwide is expected to reach 1.8 billion by 2010 survey. Thus, the impact of these online shopping environments on consumer response necessitates a critical understanding for marketing planning.

Fast development of human population and the comfort zones by utilizing more automobile vehicles, Industrial equipment driven by fossil fuel and also agriculture equipment leads more depend and energy sources. Waste cooking oil (WCO) has significant potential as the raw material for biodiesel production. Biodiesel is environmental friendly clean and non-toxic in nature is because a more advantages to use as substitute in CI engine and also it is one of kind of major renewable energy sources. Biodiesel reduce emission of Carbon Monoxide, Hydrocarbon and Particulate Matter in the exhaust gas. Biodiesel can extract by transesterification of Waste Cooking Oil and methanol with KOH catalysts at 650 0C. The expense of waste cooking oil is approximately Rs.55 per liters and after transesterification the price is just about nearly double of oil. The yield from waste cooking oil WCO is approximately 85 %. This implies that from 25 litres of Waste Cooking oil (WCO) the biodiesel produced was approximately 22 litres. In this work we are focused to use cooking oil as a feed stock of biodiesel. This minimize the cost of production and help in environmental issue and also help in reduce the effect of human health as cancer, skin allergies etc. The main interest is to produced biofuel from waste cooking oil and find the properties of extracted biodiesel. Properties of waste cooking oil such as viscosity, density, carbon residue free fatty acid, kinematic viscosity as well as for diesel can be studied. The biodiesel and their combinations were analyzed for their kinematic viscosity, density, specific gravity, flash point, fire point and various other parameters as per standard methods. The experimental results unveiled that the production of biodiesel from waste cooking oil is achievable. The work shows that Waste Cooking Oil (WCO) can be successfully utilized in CI Engine as Biodiesel.
