 Abstract

Hammer and Champy (1993) suggest that empowerment of front-line workers is crucial if organisations want to understand core business processes, because front-line workers are closest to these processes and are the only ones who really understand how they work. Some of the perceived benefits of employee empowerment include greater job satisfaction and motivation, reduced supervisory requirements and increases in innovation and creativity. Indian private sector banks are growing and there are so many reforms in banking system. Management understands value of empowering employees. Previously researchers have suggested so many dimensions of customer satisfaction including personnel, services and access to services. Many factors have been said to contribute greatly to employee empowerment which has become widely studied in the recent past as one of the ways organizations may use to turn around their performance. This study analyzed mainly how five factors of employee empowerment ( authority and participation, management supports, control over job, job knowledge and reward and recognition) effects the three dimensions of customer satisfaction (personnel, services and access) for private sector banks. The Descriptive survey method was being applied to carry out the research. Two sets of questionnaire were prepared by researcher, one for employees and one for customers of selected private sector banks. Data have been analyzed by using the Statistical Package for Social Science AMOS software after which appropriate interpretation was be done. The study found that employee empowerment has significant and positive effect on three dimensions of customer satisfaction (personnel, services and access).

 Abstract

This paper is concerned with an inventory model with instantaneous stock replenishment and stock-dependent consumption rate. In this paper we derived total cost in which demand rate is constant and tried to change the demand of producer as the change of demand of consumer. Naturally this could not take care of stock dependent demand rate which is depending on replenishment size i. e. replenishment should continuously come so that shortages do not take place. Gupta and Vrat suggested an EOQ model through cost minimization technique to take care of stock-dependent demand rate. They substituted the expression for variable demand rate in the total cost per unit time derived under the assumption of constant demand, and Mandal and Phaujdar suggested an EOQ model through profit maximization criteria considering the demand rate depending upon the current stock level to yield the optimal solution, which is more realistic. They assumed a linear dependence of the demand rate on the current stock level. In a current paper, profit maximization criteria is used for the producer to earn more profit. In this paper an EOQ model is established in the case where the replenishment of the stock is instantaneous, flat discount offered and shortages are not allowed and the demand rate depends upon the current stock level. Profit maximization criteria are employed to yield the maximum profit per time of the system.

 Abstract

IFRS are International Financial Reporting Standards, which are issued by the International Accounting Standards Board , a committee compromising of 14 members, from nine different countries, which work together to develop global accounting standards . Presently, there are two sets of accounting standards that are accepted for international use namely, the U.S., Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the International Financial Reporting Standards issued by the London-based International Accounting Standards Board. Generally, accepted accounting principles are diverse in nature but based on a few basic principles as advocated by all GAAP rules. The attempt to achieve congruence with IAS appears to be more a by-product of the country's rapid economic growth rather than its catalyst. However, continued growth and the attraction of foreign capital to domestic ventures will depend on the transparency of the financial dealings. The global financial crisis surfaced the lack of transparency about the risks to which investors were exposed from their involvement with off balance sheet vehicles as a result of which the G20 leaders and the Financial Stability Board asked the International Accounting Standards Board to review the accounting and disclosure requirements for such off balance sheet vehicles .

 Abstract

Online shopping is a major part of the overall electronic commerce, or e-commerce, industry which consists of all the buying and selling of goods and services over electronic systems such as the internet and other computer networks by households, businesses and other agencies. With the spread of the internet, the amount or trade that is conducted electronically has seen extraordinary growth; Online shopping is the process whereby customers directly purchase goods or services from a seller in real-time, without an intermediary services using internet. It is a form of electronic commerce. The transaction is completed electronically such as flipkart, snapdeal, Amazon etc. Earlier in India, there were very limited transactions took place with the use of internet. This was due to many reasons like lack of internet literacy, low penetration of computers and low rate of internet connections in India. However, this scenario has changed tremendously as people have started gaining confidence about purchasing products through online. Consumers have started experiencing the ease of choice, the comfort of shopping from home and an endless variety of products, while saving time and money.

 Abstract

Stock split is one of the many available alternatives in hands of the company to regulate the overall dynamics of their equity shares. Stock split is usually used to enhance liquidity and to make the shares more affordable for their share holders, as splitting an existing share would reduce the market price per share in the proportions of the split, but would ensure no change in the existing market capitalization of such shares. As the number of total shares of the company increases, the price per share goes down. The study is an attempt to study the behaviour of the share prices of Avanti feeds Ltd. (BSE code: 512573) before and after the share went through a split.

 Abstract

Assuming the significance on disclosure of non- financial measures and to drive transparency in the marketplace, in August 2012 Securities and Exchange Board of India in line with NVGs (2011) made Business Responsibility Reporting (BRR) mandatory for the top 100 entities by market capitalization on the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange. The BRRs should be included in the annual report filed for the financial years ending on or after December 31, 2012 so effectively applicable from financial year 2012-13. It is believed that reporting could then become the potential catalyst and can be a progressive measure to put the issues of ESG at the forefront. The study provided insight about factors influencing disclosure practices using the framework of Institutional theory. To measure CSR disclosure, a disclosure index consisting of 58 indicators with the maximum score of 313 was developed. The findings of multiple regression indicated that only Coercive Isomorphism explained by Size of the firm contributes to the extent of mandatory CSR disclosure of BSE listed firms. The findings indicated in providing empirical evidence on institutional theory that among the three mechanism of isomorphism; coercive, normative and mimetic, only coercive isomorphism explained by size of the firm contributes to the change in the extent of CSR disclosure of BSE listed firms and indicates that companies will perform conscientiously on CSR issues if coerced by the regulatory efforts.
