There are two key objectives of the financial management namely profit maximisation and wealth maximisation. This discipline follows the concept of managing finance using two approaches viz., traditional approach and modern approach. In traditional approach, financial managers have mainly prioritized profit maximisation as its primary objective. The modern approach requires mangers to focus on wealth maximisation by adopting various tools of value creation and value enhancement. At times these two objectives conflict as in the process of maximising profits, managers inadvertently destroy the wealth. If a firm has to survive in the long run, it has to build a roadmap for sustainable growth. This can be achieved by adoption of one of the superior measure of wealth creation and performance viz. Economic Value Added (EVA). EVA is the trade mark developed by Stern Stewart in early 1990. EVA stands superior to other measures on the ground it considers the cost of equity which was ignored by traditional tools; thus not reflecting the true value. EVA is a metric to assess whether a company has produced any value for their shareholders. Market Value Added (MVA) on the other hand is a wealth metric which enables the stakeholders to analyse the degree of wealth created or destroyed by the business. This paper makes an attempt to measure the value /wealth creation with the help of EVA and MVA, of software companies, which were part of NIFTY for all the last seven years ending 31st March 2017.

Introduction of SPF vannamei shrimp species in India, transformed the entire shrimp aquaculture industry in the country. Earlier p. monodon species dominated the shrimp aquaculture industry, which has come under direct pressure since vannamei species has become a new favourite for the shrimp aquaculture farmers. Vannamei with its higher resistance and higher farmer friendly characteristics as compared to monodon has now become the major cultivated species of shrimp in India. The study aims at analysing the productivity of two different shrimp species, namely P. Monodon and L. vannamei. State wise area under culture for each of the species and its production has been considered to determine the productivity.

Ind AS (Indian Accounting Standards) is the customized version of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards). Indian companies, listed and unlisted; whose net worth is more than 500 crore, have converged to Ind AS reporting from the financial year 2016-17. The major change that Ind AS has brought to the framework of financial reporting was the introduction of fair value concept as a method of valuing assets and liabilities. This paper tries to address the facets of fair valuation and how the other comprehensive income (OCI) in the statement of profit and loss plays a role to reduce the volatility of fair valuation in the financial statements. The sample consists of selected companies following Ind AS and those are listed in BSE 100 index. The researcher has tried to analyze the components of OCI in them and the effectiveness of OCI in channelizing the impact of fair valuation.

Basic EOQ model is formulated by considering various restrictions which are in terms of assumptions. One of among this is the backorders not allowed. This paper will describe and formulate the EOQ model with backorders are allowed with simple differential calculations. This paper also gives the explanation for the implication of this model on trade-offs between the components of total cost of inventory. A numerical example is also included for better comparison of the two models with numbers. At last the critical consideration on backordering cost is also provided for making review decision among the two models.

Academicians who are employed as teaching professionals in B-Schools have the responsibility of helping students to grow in stature and personality and prepare them to shoulder the responsibility of the corporate world. This demands that they give out their best and likewise, the Institutions where they are employed expect the best from them. The academicians on their part expect a conducive work environment, which among other things facilitates job satisfaction empowerment, involvement. The employing Institutions (B-Schools) should view these as essential factors for building employee loyalty. While these attributes are essential from the point of view of both, the teachers as well as the B-Schools employing them, a question worth considering is that do the various demographic factors, in particular, Age, Gender, Position Level, Area of Expertise have an effect and create a significant difference on enhancing or reducing the extent of the above important attributes in a B-School teacher? Or are these attributes entirely dependent on the conditions of work of these teachers. In other words, are there intrinsic factors or only extrinsic factors which are alone responsible for the extent of these attributes present in B-School teachers. This study was therefore conducted to find out the impact or relationship between the abovenamed demographic factors and the attributes mentioned above.

Rural aquaculture is seen as an alternative to the traditional marine fisheries sector. With the growing demand and declining supply of naturally available sea food, there arises a constant need for the development of alternative source of sea food other than the traditional marine and capture fisheries. Rural aquaculture offers several advantages in terms of the utilization of rural resources and providing good economic benefits to the weaker section of the society. In recent years, with an expectation of high returns the number of aquaculture farms in rural areas has increased manifolds. With such increase there arises a need to effectively manage and handle such smaller aquaculture farmers, thereby allowing a better utilization of rural resources and achieving a higher bargaining power. This study focuses on the small scale rural aquaculture in india.
