 Abstract

Introduction: ADS is not a static condition, described in absolute terms, but a life-long illness. It is a phenomenon that depends on the interaction of biological, social, and cultural factors, e.g., religion and the symbolic value of alcohol in each culture, that determines how the person can relate to the substance in the individual and social process of learning how to consume alcohol. One of the phenomena in this learning process is the emergence of abstinence symptoms. When a person begins to drink alcohol to alleviate these symptoms, a strong correlation is formed to maintain both the development and persistence of dependency. Aim: To study adjuvant yoga therapy's effects on Quality of life (QOL) in patients undergoing alcohol de-addiction program at de-addiction clinic, department of Psychiatry, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (MGMC&RI) in Pondicherry. Settings and design: 71 male patients undergoing an alcohol de-addiction program were recruited as subjects and randomly divided into Group A, who received Yoga therapy as per the CYTER protocol along with standard medication for daily sessions of 1.5 hours each, and daily counseling sessions for up to two weeks and Group B, who only received standard medical management. Methods and materials: Administration of World Health Organization (WHO) Quality of Life Bref version WHO 2004: WHOQOL Bref to all patients before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis used: JASP-0.9.2.0 software was used for Statistical analysis. Wilcoxon test was performed for intragroup comparisons, and the Mann-Whitney test was performed for intergroup comparison to arrive at the p values. Results: The scores in the intergroup comparisons were as follows: QOL- Physical health (p=0.0002), QOL- Psychological health (p=0.0053), QOL- Social relationship (p=0.2321), QOL- Environment (p=0.0212), QOL- Total Quality of life (p=0.0046). Whereas in the intragroup comparisons, the scores were as follows: QOL- Physical health (p<0.001), QOL- Psychological health (p<0.001), QOL- Social relationship (p<0.05), QOL- Environment (p<0.001), QOL- Total Quality of life (p<0.001). Conclusions: The present study supports previous studies on the benefits of Yoga and concludes that yoga therapy helps in spiritually improving the Quality of life of patients with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome (ADS).

 Abstract

The skill training ecosystem must take an integrated view of existing and potential demand for employers and employees. Considering the demographic ,economic, cultural and resources diversity of India, Putting such ecosystem in place would continue to be an in-progress project for a long while. The humungous reverse migration of workers during covid-19 lockdown present and unpreced ented challenges for many states. The demographic dividend not withstanding with U.P,BIHAR,ODISHA,MADHYA PRADESH,W.BANGAL AND JHARKHAND expecting the numbers of returnee migrant workers to run in millions, the preparedness of their home state to provide local employment is bring put to test. In wake of their challenges the government of many of these states have announced elaborate arrangement. Registering the returnees and their skill level and collecting job opportunities in projects funded by central and state government are some of the measures announced. Though, the process is still underway, it is becoming clear that an exercise of the nature call for strong ground level institutions with serious capacities of planning and implementation.

 Abstract

In India, Microfinance has emerged as a major intervention to reduce poverty. Innumerable stakeholders of microfinance are enthusiastically channeling financial assistance and resources to poor households in urban and rural areas through NGOs and MFIs who are engaged in microfinance activities. The microfinance program is considered as one of the most practical and attractive tools for providing access to credit to the poor and henceforth lessening poverty and achieving Sustainable Livelihood (SL). Therefore, it becomes very important to study how these two concepts are interlinked together for ensuring the sustainable livelihood generation and sustainable rural development of a nation. The present research work is an attempt to draw out the linkages between Microfinance and Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) and to investigate the impact of microfinance on sustainable rural livelihood by using various sustainability measurement indicators. The impact assessment has been carried out on 355 BPL household families of Agra District by using Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. This research finds that there is a positive and significant impact of microfinance and sustainable rural livelihood. Microfinance provides financial accessibility to the rural poor of Agra District by increasing their total family income through generating numerous livelihood parameters like human capital, financial capital, social capital, natural capital, and physical capital. This livelihood generation provides hope to the poor people to ensure sustainable livelihood by improving their health, education, skills, assets, and involvement in social activities and hence acknowledge them as an important part of society that assisting in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 Abstract

Population density is the ratio of people to physical space. It shows the relationship between a population and the size of the area in which it lives. Population is not evenly distributed in some places it is scattered and in some places it is dense. Geographical, social, cultural, and economic factors are effects on density and distribution of population. In this paper author find out the relationship between altitude and density of population. The main objective of this paper is to analysis correlation between altitude and density of population. Purna river basin is sub-basin of Tapi river basin of Maharashtra. Purna river basin has an area of about 1786.44 km. It spread about thirty two tehsils of Amravati, Akola, Buldhana, Washim and Jalgoan district. In this research paper find out correlation between density of population and average height of the tehsils. There is a negative co-relationship between average height and density of population.

 Abstract

The participation of women in the economy is important in order to enhance and contribute towards raising the economic potential of a country. Traditionally women were just dependent on their family members for their expenses or savings. But now they are not only earning member of the family but also taking financial decisions on how, when and where to invest money without compromising their lifestyle? Women today are not just investing money in only traditional options like gold , land, bank and post office schemes , they are also investing in bonds mutual funds and insurance ,as they are becoming more aware of different and more better investment alternatives as shown by the different recent studies .As investment many professional options are also available with the women with which they can easily balance their home and professional life easily one such option is financial trading or stock trading with the need of time. In the present study, the diverse literature available worldwide on the stock market participation of women has been explored and analyzed in terms of their objectives, research methodology, sample, respondents and the impediments faced by women while investing in the stock market. The article demonstrates that there are several impediments that prevent women from investing in the stock market and suggests that besides financial literacy programmes, changes in attitude and behaviour of the society as well as women are needed in order to improve their participation in the stock market as traders.

 Abstract

Even today prevalence of syphilis is no doubt very high in underdeveloped countries like Nepal, but there has been scarce of information regarding the exact prevalence of this disease in general population. The objective of this study is to assess the seroprevalence of anti-treponemal antibody among patients visiting tertiary care hospital. A retrospective study was conducted for 9 years (2009 to 2017). Clinical data were collected from the serology section of Department of Microbiology, BPKIHS, Dharan. Of total (9610), 235 (2.4%) tests were reactive for anti-treponemal antibodies. Significant decrease in the prevalence of syphilis is a good indication for an underdeveloped country like Nepal towards acheiving millinium development goal. But in the era of HIV/AIDS, there is always a high chance, where syphilis can increase mobidity and mortality, thus authorities should be always vigilant in monitoring and spreading awareness to control spread of syphilis.

 Abstract

The Unani System of Medicine originated in Greece (Yunan) and was developed by Arabs into an vast medical science based on the concepts, ideas and the teaching of Buqrat (Hippocrates) and Jalinoos (Galen). The concept of Natural Factors as seven principles (Umoor-e-Taba'iya) and included, element (Arkan), temperament (Mizaj), humours (Akhlat), organs (Aaza), sprit (Arwah), faculties (Quwa) and functions (Af'aal). Ruh is the Gaseous substance in our body, with the help of which all metabolic reactions takes place and all the powers or faculties and Hararat e Ghariziya (Innate or Normal heat of the Body) is formed and it is the vital of human life. Erasistaratus is known as the Founder of Ruh theory. It is carried by the blood to different parts of the body and becomes the source of life. Oxidation of micronutrients (Akhlat e Lateefa) is essential to yield energy (in the form of ATP). Keyword:- Umoor e Taba'iya, Hararat e Ghariziyah, Oxidation, ATP.

 Abstract

Introduction of semi conductor devices has led to revolution in power industry in terms of conversion of power from ac to dc and vice versa. In spite of the fact that these converters behave as non linear load to power system injecting harmonics into the system, these are very commonly used with additional filtering equipment. In the proposed work, performance of six pulse and twelve pulse rectifiers were analyzed by connecting passive filters in parallel in MATLAB/Simulink and the passive filters were able to handle the harmonics injected by the rectifiers, power quality and reliability of the power system is improved

 Abstract

Almost everyone is aware of the threats of the Corona Virus nowadays, which has affected people at all levels of the world in one way or another, be it psychologically or physiologically. Significant effects have been observed on the mental and physical health of individuals working on the frontline and their families in a big number of cases. Researchers in different parts of the world have been studying up on the mental health of front liners and their families and upon students and trying to figure out the ways to support mental health and well-being in this situation. The current study focused on the mental state of job seekers in these circumstances and the main aim of the study was to find out the current status of anxiety, stress, and depression among job seekers in this lockdown period. A cross-sectional survey technique was adopted with the help of a snowball sampling technique among 175 sample units. The findings of the study revealed that job seekers had much concern about their future, and it had a bad effect on their mental health. Significant differences were found in gender and caste variations on Anxiety and depression at 0.05 and 0.01 level statistically.

 Abstract

Melanoma is one of the most increasing cancers since past decades. For accurate detection and classification, discriminative features are required to distinguish between benign and malignant cases. Computer vision can play important role in medical image diagnosis and it has been proved by many existing systems. Considering and analysing features of cancer image, which includes Asymmetry, Border irregularity, Compact index, Fractal dimension, Color variation and diameter is popular technique of analysing the patients with skin cancer. To extract and analyse such features, image segmentation plays important role for automatic skin cancer detection system. In this paper we propose the image segmentation scheme based on support vector machine and Convolutional neural network classifier the validated results showed a very encouraging performance with a sensitivity 80.48%, a specificity of 76.19% and accuracy of 98.36% of SVM classifier using linear kernel.
