Due to the increased Electricity consumption Renewable energy sources such as sun, wind etc., are widely adopted for Electric Power generation. Integration of Renewable energy sources to the grid plays a major role in utilization of energy. Renewable energy sources cannot be directly connected to the grid. Power Electronic converters play a major role in interfacing renewable energy sources to grid or load. The poor quality of voltage and current of a conventional inverter fed induction machine is due to the presence of harmonics and hence there is significant level of energy losses. The Multilevel inverter is used to reduce the harmonics. The inverters with a large number of steps can generate high quality voltage waveforms. The higher levels can follow a voltage reference with accuracy and with the advantage that the generated voltage can be modulated in amplitude instead of pulse-width modulation. This paper discusses photovoltaic (PV) based Multilevel inverter fed Induction Motor topology with involves Pseudo carrier modulation technique as control scheme. The topology offers much less total harmonic distortion. The PV system is verified through simulation in MATLAB/SIMULINK and the FFT spectrums for the outputs are analyzed to study the reduction in the harmonics.

Lectins are a class of non-covalent carbohydrate-binding proteins of non-immune origins; possessing at least one non-catalytic domain, they can reversibly recognize and bind to monosaccharides or oligosaccharides. Legume lectins have been demonstrated to possess antifungal and antiproliferative potency on tumor cells. Seed lectin from Linumusitassimum (flax) was extracted and partially purified by acetone precipitation followed by DEAE-cellulose ion exchange chromatography and Sephadex G-100 gel filtration chromatography. Carbohydrate binding specificity of lectin was determined by the hemagglutination method and found to be specifically binding to N-acetyl galactosamine. Purified lectin was characterized for their biological activity like antiproliferative, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity using in vitro assays and found to possess significant biological activities.

From the latter part of the last decade, the distributed paradigm of computing, that offers services and products on a demand basis known popularly as cloud computing, has been on the rise. Cost-effective and easy to work with, the cloud has been adopted by businesses small and big. With the proliferation of such a huge and networked paradigm of computing the need for security has also become imperative. Especially the field of forensics in relation to the cloud has to be developed in order to recreate an incident that has led to a crime or is a criminal activity in itself. The demands of cloud forensics are exponentially greater than the demands of digital forensics. This paper focuses on issues in cloud forensics, some important frameworks and a few inferences.

Masonry infill is generally considered as non structural element. Structures with brick work infill wall in RC buildings generally increase stiffness and strength of the frame structure. The infills are normally not considered in the design of buildings as they are designed as bare frames. This study investigates the effect of masonry infill wall to check non linear behavior of RC frame building. For this purpose, Three RC frame buildings of G+20 i.e. regular building and buildings with vertical irregularity are considered (with bottom story considering as soft story/open story). For modeling masonry infill wall the equivalent diagonal strut approach is adopted. Displacement v/s base shear curves (pushover curves) are obtained for the structures using ETABS Nonlinear version 2016 software. To obtain pushover curves, Non linear analysis is carried out and results are presented in comparison with bare frame and with infill wall frame with soft story or open story. From the pushover curves, story displacements, inter-story drift, base shear are determined.

Environment pollution by toxic heavy metals (HM) presents a real life threat for human health. Accumulation of heavy metals like Cadmium, Mercury, Cobalt and Copper in water causes toxic actions if the tolerance level is exceeded. Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) activity was used for estimation of heavy metal ions in drinking water. It was based on inhibition of Alkaline Phosphatase enzyme activity exerted by metal ions. Kinetics of ALP was performed and maximum activity was found to be at using 2U/ml concentration of enzyme and hence was chosen for further studies. ALP immobilization was carried out by sol-gel method and sodium alginate method on two different surfaces: glass and stainless steel. Inhibition characteristics of ALP were tested using different concentrations of individual heavy metals ranging from 10mM to 10-5mM and also using combination of heavy metals of concentration 10-4mM.The reaction showed uncompetitive inhibition. Amongst the four heavy metals used, the amount of inhibition was found to be more in mercury compared to other metals.

The main aim of our study is to resist the vibrations in the structures from failure of building which are caused during the earthquake and to transmit the loads to the earth ground by which we gain strength and durable to the structure which acts due to the lateral loads. The dampers are introduced in the design of earthquake resistant structures by which it reduces the vibrations. There are different types of dampers in the earthquake resistant structures. The damper FVD250 is used in the analysis. The software used for the analysis is ETABS 2016. Using time history analysis and pushover analysis the results are compared with and without adding FVD. By the recent researches and recent examines the square columns are highly resistant against earthquake than that of rectangular columns in both the analysis done.th results are compared with the Base Shear for Time History.

Abstract It introduces the object tracking robot [6] which is directed by wheels and managed with some software along with the computer. The goal of object tracking is to depiction a robot which is cardinally maintained by computer to follow and track the colored object. The significance is given on rigor robotic vision based [1] functions. Image capturing by the trolley is achieved by pi camera, and captured colored object moves to image processing for further dispensation. A new vision-based methodology to the illustration and appreciation of human movement [7] is obtainable. Object tracking is in recent times becoming ever more essential in the field of image processing and analysis. Uses like user-computer interaction, traffic-control, online video exemption and making and video observation need consistent and economically judicious image tracking tools. We reason that the path-following way may still be more proper in some states, and we suggest that the perfect person resulting performance may be a hybrid methodology, with the robot routinely choosing which method to use.

India is a fast growing developing country consisting of large city population in many numbers. Along with increase in population generation of waste is highly proportional. Management of these rejects in a sustainable procedure without harming the neighbours is very important. Bengaluru City generates about 4000 metric tonnes per day of MSW within the jurisdiction of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), which is responsible to provide and administer the urban infrastructure and other civic amenities of the Greater Bengaluru Metropolitan area having a population of over 10 million. Handling and management of this huge quantity of municipal waste is a challenge for the urban local body (ULB) about environmental, social and techno-financial aspects. The paper consists of proposing a method of controlling the odour produced in the solid waste treatment plant especially for the wet solid waste along with increasing the rate of composting in a conventional manner. It also included to determine the causes of malodours, to identify the most common odorants in municipal waste, properties they consist, how they can be affected and ways to prevent them to the maximum magnitude. The solution is under testing so it cannot with certainty be determined if the suggestions will reduce or prevent emission of odour. After studying recent research papers, the method proposed in this project would be an efficient suggestion and could be implemented with ease even if it is required to change the current treatment procedure of the municipal solid waste management plants of the city. Odour emission could be regulated by avoiding the turning operation and maintaining the factors affecting composting within the permissible limits. This can be done by maintain the required temperature, moisture content by the principle of transfer of heat and aeration within the pile from the method proposed.

Fog is a big reason for road accidents. Images which are captured under bad weather conditions suffer low contrast so as their quality also degrade with the changes in atmosphere. The main reason behind this problem is that, the light capture by the lens is spread by the atmosphere. Fog reduces visibility to less than 1 kilometre. This paper aims to resolve the sight problem faced by car/other automobile drivers when driving in foggy weather condition and at night. For improving the visibility level of an image and reducing fog, various image enhancement methods are used. For improving the visibility level five major steps are used. First step is acquisition process of foggy / dark images. Second is estimation process. Third is enhancement process (improve visibility level, reduce fog). Next process is restoration process (restore enhanced image) while the final is the vehicle detection. The main aim of the paper is to review image enhancement and restoration methods for improving the quality and visibility level of an image which provide clear image in bad weather condition.

In this study, seismic analysis of tall R.C. buildings has been carried out by considering rigid and flexible slabs. Etabs software is used for the analysis purpose. In this software 3 options are provided to account for rigid and flexible slab assumption viz Rigid (Membrane), Flexible (Shell-Thin) and Flexible (Shell-Thick). Static analysis (equivalent lateral force method) and dynamic analysis (response spectrum method) are used for the analysis of 30 storey framed building. Comparative study is done between 3 types of slabs as mentioned above and results are obtained in terms of modal periods, modal frequencies, displacement, drift and stiffness for all seismic zones viz V, IV, III and II.

Theflexibleuseofcreditanddebitcard transactions has become increasingly ubiquitous and so have the associated vulnerabilities that make them a common target for cyber criminals. Furthermore, a prevalent complication associated with blocking of ATM cards involves tedious interactive processes and even possibly long waiting times during interaction with customer care services. Using a three factor authentication scheme employing RFID Involving One- time password, we describe and quantify the potential to overcome common transaction liabilities (brute force attack, shoulder surfing, skimming of ATM cards, etc.). The auxiliary feature of blocking ATM cards is implemented using a QR code authentication scheme and RFID technology. The proposed system, therefore, ensures both secure usage of ATM cards and cost effectiveness by utility of novel and increasingly common technology, when also simultaneously proving to be user friendly.

As a universal truth, concrete is weak in tension, it has less ductile property and little resistance to cracking. Hence Fiber Reinforced Concrete is being used popularly against PCC (Plain cement concrete) which gives more ductility, resistance to cracking and strengthening of concrete. Due to the richer flexural strength property of fiber reinforced concrete, it can act as crack arrester. An attempt is made in this dissertation work to investigate experimentally the performance of fiber reinforced concrete with regard to compressive strength and flexural strength by varying the percentage of steel fibers. The percentage variation of steel fiber from 0%, 1%, 2%, 3% and 4% by weight of concrete is added in the designed mix concrete of M-25 grade. The type of Steel fiber used is of hooked end of aspect ratio 66.67. The cubes and prism were cured for 7, 14 and 28 days and tested to understand the compressive strength and flexural strength. Model RCC (Reinforced cement concrete ) beams of 700X150X150mm with nominal longitudinal reinforcement and shear reinforcement with a layer of steel fiber provided at 5cm from bottom of beam unidirectional with varying percentages of steel fibers (0% to 4%) were cast and cured for 28 days. The beams were tested under two point loading system and load deflection characteristics are recorded. It is observed that the beams having a layer at 5cm level have shown excellent ductility characteristics giving sufficient warning before complete failure.

Processing of geospatial data is compute intensive. If this processing is done on a large scale which has huge data sets like OpenStreetMap then the process of running a filter and the process of aggregation operations on huge records of data can be benefited by performing parallel processing on massive parallel processing platforms. The focus of the project is to describe and build a distributed geospatial processing framework based on one of the evaluated open source stream and batch processing engines like Apache Hadoop, Spark and Pachyderm to perform Spatial ETL functionalities which Extract, Transform and Load like extraction of data from different data sources, transformation of data to correct errors, cleanse, fuse, make them compliant to defined standards and load the transformed data into target spatial database (postgresql) or GIS file or Geospatial web services.

Cash may no more lead the market of all sense. Debit cards, e- wallets and other digital platforms are witnessing a sweep in volumes. But are we fully equipped to switch to a cash less economy?Everyone from the petty shopkeeperto the chai wala are embracing digital payment to tide over the cash crunch. While we are waiting in the long queues at ATMs to preter out and notesof 100,500 & 2000 denomination to become accessible again, the adoption of digital payment solutions is picking up at a furious pace.ET Wealth conducted an online survey to find out the level of adoption of digital payment solutions and user habits. The findings reveal that while people are getting comfortable with cashless payments, some mindset issues are holding back many from adopting the newer platforms. The findings also suggest that the usage habits of those who have taken to cashless modes could be exposing them to security threats.
