The objective of this paper is to explain the role of education to promote economic development in Odisha. It may be realized that the society with higher percentage of literates has higher levels of development. The paper principally focuses on the growth of elementary to higher education in Odisha, issues of equity and access to educational opportunities. This has been examined by enrolment in higher Education and gender wise enrolment. The challenge to the Government is to ensure the equitable access of educational opportunities to all. However, there is sufficient evidence of educational disparity not only between different social groups but also between different regions of the state. The paper makes an attempt to address the issues relating to elementary to higher education in different regions of Odisha. It also examines regional disparities in education in the state. Besides the paper highlights the important features of new National education policy of India to eradicate regional disparities in education and promote economic growth in Odisha.

Nanotechnology is a promising field of interdisciplinary research. The potential uses and benefits of nanotechnology are enormous. Nanotechnology is the technology of 21st century i.e. Nanotechnology is the science of the extremely small particles holds enormous potential applications for environment. Nanotechnology is the science of materials at the molecular or subatomic level. It involves engineering of particles smaller than 100 nanometers (one nanometer is one-billionth of a meter) and the technology involves developing materials or devices within that size is invisible to the human eye and often many hundred times thinner than the width of human hair. The physics and chemistry of materials are radically different when reduced to the nanoscale; they have different strengths, conductivity and reactivity, physical, chemical, biological, thermal, electrical properties. Nanotechnology has been described as the development of clean technologies, to minimize potential environmental and human health risks associated with the manufacture and use of nanotechnology products and to encourage replacement of existing products with new nano-products that are more environmentally friendly throughout their lifecycle. Most applications of Nanoparticles in reducing natural disasters can be analyzed in three main areas that are building materials, sensors and medicine.

Earthquake risk assessment is the initial step for sensible and powerful planning and usage of earthquake risk reduction and additionally readiness activities as it helps understanding the basic issues and its extent. Before, design and mitigation strategies were frequently constrained to an accentuation on moderating the effects of individual hazards. In ongoing decades, a move towards creating strategies to survey and alleviate the effects of multiple hazards has happened. For the research work to be done in accounts the multi-storied buildings of Ahmedabad city of Gujarat. A significant portion of the information gathered was through essential overview. After the conception of the possibility of the topic, writing audit was completed to have a superior understanding of the issues, and the techniques and ways to deal with be utilized were chosen. The issues in the examination zone were broke down and contrasted and the prevailing situation in the regions where such kind of contextual investigations has been completed. This examination, therefore, attempts to understand how to address a portion of the hazards that are widespread in the city and build up an approach that can be received for other cities that have comparative issues using Remote Sensing information and Geographic Information System (GIS) methods.

It is widely acknowledged by all parties involved that contemporary medications will continue out of grasp for many people and that the goal of "health for all" will only be achieved via the use of appropriately evaluated herbal supplements. Since the dawn of human civilization, mankind has relied on herbal medicine for the treatment of a variety of ailments. However, major questions are being raised about the safety, claimed efficacy, and overall quality of herbal items that are utilised as herbal medicine, nutraceuticals, health foods, and cosmetics, among other applications. Despite the fact that herbal items have been used for thousands of years and are usually considered safe, several herbal products, including herbal medicine, have been associated with serious negative effects. Because most of the traditional herbal medicinal information is dispersed around the globe at the family and community levels, and particularly among indigenous people, the knowledge base is constantly being lost and urgent recording is required to prevent further loss of information.

In this paper we will learn about the matrix eigenvalue problem AX = kX where A is a square matrix and k is a scalar (number). We will learn how to determine the eigenvalues (k) and corresponding eigenvectors (X) for a given matrix A. We will learn of some of the applications of eigenvalues and eigenvectors. Finally We will learn how eigenvalues and eigenvectors may be determined numerically.

Jats demand for Reservation is a highly controversial topic. Jats have been raising the demand for Reservation, at different forums, for nearly the past two decades. The movement for Jat-reservation has been going on for more than a decade in different states of north India. The agitation by Pro-Reservation Jat organizations has been there in Haryana since 2004. The protests have turned violent many times but the Jat agitation in February 2016 has been the most violent. Violent protests, disruption of train and road traffic and the destruction of public property are allegedly encouraged by the delayed and unresponsive approach of the government. The government both at the Central and the State levels, sleeps over the legitimate demands of the people, till they find an expression in such violence. Reservation as an affirmative action is enshrined in our Constitution to ensure proper representation of economically and socially backward classes who are not well represented in government jobs. The demand for reservation will wither away only when our economy generates sufficient jobs for all aspiring for them. This has not happened despite the sustained high growth in recent years. After so many years of its implementation, the reservation policy has reached a stage where both its supporters and critics are unhappy about it. There are endless debates going on at various platforms and levels. Some vehemently oppose it, some die hardly support and some stay neutral. The present paper attempts to look into the issue of Jat Reservation and Jats agitation for reservation in Haryana in February 2016 in detail and analyse the cause and impact of this agitation.

A new novel Schiff base namely, N-((5-methylthiophen-2-yl)methylene)-1-(pyridin-2-yl)methanamine was synthesized by condensation of 2-picolyl amine with 5-methyl thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde. Schiff base was characterised by spectroscopic methods such as FT-IR, 1H NMR, and 13C NMR. The coordination behaviour of synthesised Schiff base with transition metal ions i.e., Cu(II) and Zn(II) was investigated and the Schiff base showed good coordination bond with metal ions. Antibacterial activity of the synthesised ligand and its metal complexes was evaluated against gram positive bacterial species such as Staphylococcus aureus, and Bacillus subtilis as well as gram negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The Schiff base metal complexes showed higher antibacterial activity when compared to bare Schiff base.

There have been many theoretical approaches to the study of intonation. Apart from other models, the history of intonational studies presents two fundamental approaches developed since 1900: the British school of intonation and the American school of intonation. The British school scholars focused on the change of pitch direction as a whole contour on a tone group, whereas the American approach analysts gave importance to pitch levels on different syllables. Halliday asserts that the importance of intonation is in its ability to give different meanings for the same utterance by changing the intonation. He proposed three systems: Tonality, Tonicity and Tone in his book Intonation and Grammar in British English (1967) and he described the three systems after analyzing as the three recites. These play different roles in English grammar but in any given utterance they operate in interaction with one another so that, it cannot always give a clear account of the meaning of a particular selection in one system in isolation from the others.
