In this study the nonlinear analysis of 2 DOF vibration system with weakly nonlinear spring is studied. Different from conventional way, the DVA damper is connected between the absorber mass and the ground. A simple Ground hook damped DVA is thus employed to suppress the nonlinear vibrations of forced nonlinear system for the primary resonance conditions. The effects of the linked spring, the damper and the attached mass on the reduction of nonlinear vibration are being studied with the help of frequency response curves, time plots and phase planes.

Progress is a voyage from the stagnant state to an improved situation and it is generally believed that science and technology were responsible for mankind's progress. Man always has an internal urge to move towards a new state or condition. During the uncharted journey, man visualizes the answer through his insight or intuition, which most of the time is not based on his rational thinking. However, intuition is well acknowledged and recognized in science though it is not accessible to the physical senses in public domain. Therefore we have to accept that it is from the spiritual domain. In the present paper, few cases are presented to support that man arrived at right conclusions following his intuition, guided by an entity outside the faculty of man, and argues that science and technology was only a tool that enabled man to reach the answer shown by the entity.

Fruits and crops plays critical part in the progress of any country. Health monitoring is accomplished by the use of fruits in daily life. The primary reason for this fact is health care situations arising due to fast life accommodated by normal users. Even agriculture and fruits such as apples are prone to diseases due to pesticides and changing environmental conditions. To tackle the situation, technology is playing a useful role. Several algorithms including K-mean clustering, iterative approaches and fuzzy neural based mechanism is used to determine the problems within the fruits. Comparative analysis indicates the better approach which can be used in the future enhancements.

Metal detectors are fascination machines The project is designed to develop a robotic vehicle that can sense metals ahead of it on its path similar to sensing land mines. It consists of a proximity sensor that detects the metals ahead of it and image in front of the surrounding is sent to the mail. An BeagleBone Black of microcontroller is used for the desired operation. A proximity sensor is mounted on the robot body and its operation is carried out automatically on sensing any metal underneath. As soon as the robot senses this metal it sends the mail. This is to alert the operator of a possible metal (eg: land mine) ahead on its path.

Service Quality in banking sector is the most important criteria and asset for evaluating and satisfying customers and thereby increases the customer loyalty and average retention rate of customers. Among the service quality determinants, reliability, assurance and empathy have always played a pivotal role. Prior research suggests that customer perceptions and expectations are more likely to be different across service sectors. Hence, this paper examines the effect of service quality determinants on the degree of customer satisfaction in public and private banks in Surat. By realizing the gap between the perceived and actual service quality, customer satisfaction can be extremely improved.

This paper produced LRU-TB Web caching algorithm. Web Caching is a mechanism used to manage the bottleneck network performance by reducing network traffic, load on the Web Server and delay in retrieving the desired Web page. This is achieved by least recently used Web pages on proxy cache placed within the network. Caching can be achieved by either at client side or in the proxy server. Web proxy cache can potentially improve network performance by reducing the number of requests that reaches the server, the volume of data transferred through the network and the delay in accessing Web page. When a requested page is not available in the cache and cache is bottleneck then exchange of one or more cached documents take pace. The performance of proxy depends on page replacement algorithm. The decision by which document is evicted from the cache is depends on different kinds of replacement policies used. A lot of work is going on Web caching replacement algorithms. Different types of tools and approaches have been used by the researchers for caching. This paper illustrates design and implementation of new time based web caching algorithm for e-commerce application. It also Presents the performance analysis of the proposed system through the hit ratio and miss ratio. In future algorithm can be extended to do caching on commercial web sphere application server using http configuration.

Integrated steel plants in general, produce large amounts of solid wastes during steel making process , in world have already taken up innovative measures for 100% utilization of these wastes .This not only reduces the cost of waste disposal and environmental pollution but also gives substantial amount of iron ore flux material as well as fuel rate benefits to the existing process, thereby conserving matching amounts of raw materials Disposal of large quantities of slag becomes a big environmental concern. Thus, recycling of LD Slag and HMDS slag through the sintering process recovers lime, iron and magnesia and thereby saving of flux material and iron ore in future. Detailed investigation was carried out through lab scale studies for estimating the maximum permissible limits of usage of LD Slag and HMDS slag in sinter making and to know the influence of addition on sinter productivity and properties. Experiments were conducted using the LD Slag and HMDS slag in sinter making from 0 to 60 kg/t of sinter. From the test results it was found that 35 to 40 kg HMDS slag can be used per ton of sinter to get desired properties of the sinter other than LD Slag. Based on lab scale results plant trails have taken and optimized to reduce the cost and also to reduce the burden at slag yards .

Traditionally India's tax regime relied heavily on indirect taxes. Revenue from indirect taxes was the major source of tax revenue till tax reforms were undertaken during nineties. The major argument put forth for heavy reliance on indirect taxes was that the India's majority of population was poor and thus widening base of direct taxes had inherent limitations. But the Indian system of indirect taxation is characterized by cascading, distorting tax on production of goods and services which leads to hampering productivity and slower economic growth. There are endless taxes in present system few levied by Centre and rest levied by state, to remove this multiplicity of taxes and reducing the burden of the tax payer a simple tax is required and that is Goods and Service Tax (GST). This paper throws an insight into the Goods and Service Tax concept, advantages, disadvantages and international scenario.

Plane stress analysis is carried out by ANSYS software on concrete cube mixes with Alccofine. This experimental work deals with the effects of Alccofine, by partial replacement of cement for compressive strength. In this program 36 cube samples of size 150 mm were cast for different percentages of Alccofine with partial replacement of cement at the percentages of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25%. From the test results it was found that strength was increased with the increase of Alccofine in the concrete after 7 days and 28 days curing. For the experimental values best fit model was developed. From the model one can easily predict the experimental values for other percentages of Alccofine. Also using ANSYS software all the concrete cubes were studied by imparting plane stress model to find out deformation, principal stresses and shear stresses.

Elasticated distortion of fingerprints is one of the major causes for false non-match. While this problem affects all fingerprint recognition applications, it is dangerous in negative recognition applications, such as watch list and duplication applications. In negative recognition application to avoid identification the mischievous users intentionally distort their fingerprints. In this paper, we proposed novel algorithms to detection and rectification of fingerprint image. Distortion detection is viewed as a two-class classification problem, for which the registered orientation map and period map of a fingerprint are used as the feature vector and a SVM classifier is perform the classification task. Distortion field estimation is inserting the distorted fingerprint and the result is the distortion field. To solve this problem, a database of various distorted reference fingerprints and corresponding distortion fields is built in the offline stage, and then in the online stage, the nearest neighbor of the inserted fingerprint is found in the reference database and the Corresponding distortion field is used to transform the inserted fingerprint into a normal one.

Shastri is one of the most prominent estuary of west coast of Maharashtra, originates near Prachitgad on the western scarp. The estuary shows development of inter-tidal mud flats in the lower and middle reaches. These mud samples contain verities of clay minerals. The present work deals with the study of clay minerals to understand the genesis and environment of deposition. The composition of clay depends mainly on chemical composition of parent minerals and physico-chemical environment in which alteration takes place. The clay mineral studies of representative mud samples from Shastri estuary carried out by XRD and IR spectroscopic analysis. It is seen from the XRD diffractograms and IR spectra that the minerals viz. kaolinite, goethite, illite, chlorite, muscovite, gibbsite and montmorillonite are present in order of abundance. The area of investigation constitute of basaltic lava flows capped by laterites. Presence of kaolinite in mudflats indicates that it might have been formed due to intense chemical weathering of plagioclase feldspars present in the basalts under tropical conditions and deposited in estuarine environment. The presence of kaolinite, gibbsite along with goethite indicate that they are the products of chemical weathering of pyroxenes present in the basalts. The presence of illite in the recent mud-flats suggests transitional environment. The abundance of montmorillonite clay mainly depends upon the hydraulic conditions of the estuarine environment and intense weathering of volcanic rocks of the study area. The presence of muscovite in the mud samples is less, which may be due to its flaky habit and relatively less specific gravity. It could have formed in the source region probably by the hydrothermal alteration of pyroxenes from the basalt. Muscovite can also be accounted due to long shore transport, being derived from the Pre-cambrian terrain, exposed in the southern part of the study area.
