The skyline operator has attracted considerable attention recently due to its broad applications. However, computing a skyline is challenging today since we have to deal with big data. For data-intensive applications, the MapReduce framework has been widely used recently. In this paper, we propose the efficient parallel algorithm SKY-MR+ for processing skyline queries using MapReduce. We first build a quadtree-based histogram for space partitioning by deciding whether to split each leaf node judiciously based on the benefit of splitting in terms of the estimated execution time. In addition, we apply the dominance power filtering method toeffectively prune non-skyline points in advance. We next partition data based on the regions divided by the quadtree and compute candidate skyline points for each partition using MapReduce. Finally, we check whether each skyline candidate point is actually a skyline point in every partition using MapReduce. We also develop the workload balancing methods to make the estimated execution times of all available machines to be similar.

An industrial problem was taken under the present work to show the process variation control by implementing six sigma in punching process. The lot of stainless steel punched washer was rejected by customer who was maintaining six sigma quality level in their manufacturing. Although all the part in the lot were within the given tolerance limits but on the variation of dimensions within the tolerance zone was too high and it was not confirming to Six-Sigma distribution. The work reported in the paper present the method to find the factors that are influencing the manufacturing process variation of steel washer. There were five different thickness stainless steel washers taken under consideration for controlling process variation. Six-sigma DMAIC technique was used to identify the factors influencing the process variation, and to control the same. Outside diameter of the punch (O.D) and the sheet thickness, were found to be the two main parameters influencing the process variation; a relationship between them has been established to control the variation and location of the mean. The capability index (Cpk) and capability ratio (Cp) of the process was in between 1.13 to 1.21 and 1.20 to 1.44 respectively after implementation of the result of this work the Cp=2.19 and Cpk =1.91 was achieved.

Article 356 has always been the focal point of a wider debate of the federal structure of government in Indian polity. Article 356 is one among the nine Articles, beginning from Art. 352 and ending with Art. 360, known as Emergency Provisions, enumerated in Chapter XVIII of the Constitution of India. During a state of emergency, the President is vested with tremendous discretionary powers. In spite of the precautions laid down in Article 356, the Article was invoked on several occasions by the Center due to ambiguities in its wording. It was only in 1987 when the Sarkaria Commission submitted its report that part of the obscurity surrounding Article 356 was cleared. Further it is only after the landmark judgement in 1994 in the S. R. Bommai v. Union of India case that the misuse of Article 356 was curtailed. In this case, the Supreme Court established strict guidelines for imposing President's rule. After the Supreme Court's judgment in the S.R. Bommai case, it is well settled that Article 356 is an extreme power and is to be used as a last resort in cases where it is manifest that there is an impasse and the constitutional machinery in a State has collapsed. Hence since the early 2000, the number of cases of imposition of President's rule has come down drastically.

This paper presents a kinematic analysis pertains to low Reynolds number linear motion airfoil using XFOIL. Low Reynolds number (104 to 106) airfoil found extensive use in the field of RPVs, MAVs and UAVs now a days. In a view same can be used to generate electricity for low wind speed conditions in urban areas. It is very well known that aerodynamics performance of any airfoil is of prime importance in aviation and turbo machinery. Higher lift or lift to drag ratio for varying angle of attack and Reynolds number is of interest. An analysis here is carried out for different combination of Reynolds number, Angle of attack and free stream velocity. It is also proved that for lift type machines section with higher lift is considered to be most efficient for any combination of flow and control variables. The aim of present work is to gather information regarding behavior of low Reynolds number airfoil S1223 for linear motion to suit power generation application with available polar data using XFOIL. From graph and analysis it can be seen that a limited lift is produced enough to drive smaller units with specific angle of attack and Reynolds number combination. However more external devices can be added or flow control methods can be employed to achieve higher airfoil efficiency with a consortium of such portable. It is intended to provide useful knowledge for future studies.

Groundwater is a very important natural resource for the reliable and economic provision of potable water supply in an urban environment. Uncontrolled urbanization and the growing population pressure are essential challenges for the water management in urbanized regions. Urbanized area undergoes groundwater recharge along with the introduction of the new sources discharging often resulting groundwater contamination and fluctuations in groundwater levels. The objectives of the study is to determine impact of urbanization on groundwater quality in Pre monsoon and Post Monsoon seasons to enable suggest better management practice for sustainable use of groundwater. The city marked between 17o42' North latitude and 82o02' East range near Visakhapatnam District of Andhra Pradesh. . Groundwater samples were collected in polyethylene bottles without preservation the samples were collected from boreholes in the study area from both pre and post monsoon. Water samples were collected from fourteen boreholes and analyzed in the laboratory to determine the concentration of some physico-chemical parameters includes pH ,Temperature, Electrical Conductivity, Chlorides, Alkalinity , Total Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness, Calcium Hardness, Magnesium Hardness, Sodium , Potassium, Sulphates, Phosphates, Nitrates, Iron, Bicarbonates, Chromium, Copper, Zinc, Lead, Manganese, Cobalt by using standard methods. As per discussions it was found a considerably worse WQI through the post-monsoon season representing a insufficient quality of the groundwater. In all sampling stations, in pre monsoon water quality index is very poor condition. In post monsoon U- 12 station was in good condition. Due to piper diagrams , the appreciable change in the hydro-chemical facies was noticed during the study period (pre and post monsoon), which was might be due to the percolating of alkali salts through precipitation, dissolution of the minerals are the major processes occurring. This is concluded that urbanization effect of the ground water quality is effected due to various anthropogenic activities such as man-made sources such as landfill , leakage from sewage, feedlots, fossil-fuel combustion, cement-plant emissions, leachate, mineral leaching, waste incineration, metal plating etc.

The correct selection of manufacturing conditions is one of the most important aspects to take into consideration in the majority of manufacturing processes and, particularly, in processes related to Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM). It is a capable of machining geometrically complex or hard material components, that are precise and difficult-to-machine such as heat treated tool steels, composites, super alloys, ceramics, carbides, heat resistant steels etc. being widely used in die and mold making industries, aerospace, aeronautics and nuclear industries. Inconel 718 is a precipitation-hardened nickel-chromium alloy. It contains substantial levels of iron, molybdenum, and niobium and trace amounts of titanium and aluminum, possessing high strength and temperature-resistance combined together. Establishing the process capabilities of EDM for machining Inconel 718 and optimizing the process is important, since it has wide specialized engineering applications, like components of nuclear reactor, spacecraft, steam turbine and propulsion systems. Experiment will be performed on profile such as Flat, Concave, Convex of Inconel 718. Tangible observation will be analyzed with parameters like MRR, Surface roughness test. Conclusion will be displayed in durability of Inconel 718 with respect to Electric Discharge Machine.

Gears are widely used in power transmission systems for small distances. Bevel gear is used for transmitting power of intersecting or angle shaft. For the vibration Analysis, it is necessary to consider tooth contact stresses and the forces that vary in direction of rotation, which increases the fatigue effect and causes the bending of the tooth. The precise model of bevel planetary gear used in vertical rolling mill is created in AUTODESK INVENTOR in the first phase. A physical gear pairs are fabricated from the 18CrNiMo7-6. The finite element analysis is carried out in ANSYS. Final results obtained from the analysis of the proposed fabricated gear pair are compared with the theoretical analysis of bevel planetary gears.
