Abstract: The concept, perception and definition of slums vary across the states, depending on their socio-economic conditions but their physical characteristics are almost similar. Slums are usually a cluster of hutments with dilapidated and infirm structures having common toilet facilities, suffering from lack of basic amenities, inadequate arrangements for drainage and for disposal of solid waste and garbage. The Kanchrapara Municipality has been selected for the present study as it has an age old history as railway workshop. The central query for the present study is to assess the current livelihood status of slum and non slum communities in Kanchrapara municipality. In course of time a marked growth of population has been observed and at the same time slum population has also been increased. As slums have a tendency to concentrate in the peripheral region of the Towns, Kanchrapara Town has also got a large number of Slum population an almost all wards and some have dominant areas covered by slum population. So economic, social and cultural disparity are distinguishing the status of the slum and non-slum areas. Finally socio-economic diversification are noted in this respect.

Identical twins are referred as Monozygotic twins (MZ). MZ twins formed from a single zygote. The zygote divides into two equal halves, each of which grows independently into an individual of the same sex and genetic constitution as the other. MRI and quantitative image analysis techniques were used, many studies shown the relationship between neuroanatomic similarities in MZ twins and head size, brain size, and intelligence quotient (IQ). In proposed study we applied linear regression algorithm to find the correlation between Forebrain volume, cortical surface and callus area to show the best precision. By reducing the error, this method can find the line. The distance between the line and the point is the error of each point. The study showed that there is no significant correlation between IQ and brain or head circumference measurements. These results indicate that the forebrain volume, cortical surface, and callus area of the MZ twins are similar, and the brain measurements are closely related to each other and closely related to head circumference. But it has nothing to do with the IQ of healthy young people.

: The corrosion inhibition efficiency of stem extract of Opuntia Cochenillifera (OC) on the corrosion behaviour of mild steel in 1N hydrochloric acid was investigated in the present study. Experimental methods include weight loss measurements, Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Spectroscopic techniques. The Inhibition efficiency was increased with increase in concentration and decreased in corrosion rate. The extract acts as an excellent corrosion inhibitor. The maximum inhibition efficiency value reached to 98 % at 2.5 % v/v concentration of extract. In temperature studies the maximum inhibition efficiency of 97.07 % was observed at 2.5 % v/v extract concentration for OC extract at 323K. The mild steel surface in the absence and presence of the inhibitor was analysed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).The surface analysis results showed that the OC stem extract absorbed protective layer on the surface of the mild steel.

Open Ground Storey or soft Storey are the framed buildings where the ground Storey is kept open without infill walls, mainly to facilitate parking, which is increasing commonly worldwide. However, threat of this type of buildings has been exposed a lot in past earthquakes. OGS buildings are normally designed by a bare frame analysis that ignore the stiffness of the infill walls present in the upper storey, but doing so underestimates the inter-storey drift (ISD) and thereby the force demand in the ground storey columns located. Therefore, a multiplication factor (MF) is introduced in various national and international codes to estimate the design forces (BM and SF forces) in the ground Storey columns. This study focuses on the seismic performance of typical OGS or also called as soft storey buildings designed by means of MFs. As soft storey buildings are not safe, to ensure safety against seismic forces of multi-storied buildings, there is need to study the seismic analysis to design earthquake resistance structures. In seismic analysis the response reduction was considered for two cases i.e. for Ordinary moment resisting frame and Special moment resisting frame. The main objective of this paper is to study the seismic analysis of medium rise structure for static and dynamic analysis in ordinary moment resisting frame (OMRF) and special moment resisting frame (SMRF). We considered a residential building of G+7 storey for the seismic analysis and is located in seismic zone III. The total structure was analyzed by computer with using STAAD.PRO V8i software. We observed the response reduction of ordinary moment resisting frame and special moment resisting frame values with deflection diagrams in seismic analysis. The special moment of resisting frame structure is good in resisting the seismic loads.

Breast cancer is a malignant, uncontrolled growth of epithelial cells lining the ducts or lobules of breast tissue arising through a series of molecular mutations at the cellular level. It is the most commonly occurring cancer and the leading cause of cancer death in females worldwide. In 2008 alone, 1.38 million new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed and 458,400 women died of breast cancer. The causes of most breast cancer cases remain to be unknown. However, recent years have shown numerous advances in the identification of various risk factors including gender, environment, hormones, genetic factors, and lifestyle. The incidence of breast cancer among women may increase with advancing age, late age at first birth (>= 30), the use of postmenopausal hormone replacement therapy, prior family history, higher dietary fat intake, obesity, and alcohol intake (Michaud et al., 2008). Curcumin is the principal active component of Indian curry spice turmeric and has been found to exert preventive and therapeutic effects in various cancers. Apart from this cruciferous vegetable compound isothiocyanates shown therapeutic effects. This is, in part, due to its ability to influence a diverse range of molecular targets and signaling pathways the effect of the dimethoxycurcumin and benzyl isothiocyanates will be tested on MCF-7 and MDA MB231 cell lines.

The impact of thinness and doping concentration in CIGS- pedestal Solar-cells on the cell parameters of photovoltaic cells with ZnO and CdS studied using a SCAPS. The layer-by-layer optimization was completed. Our findings found the optimal configuration requires a ZnO as well CdS as a buffer layer and CIGS as an absorber with different thicknesses and doped with a thickness of x = 0.025, 0.05, 0.075 and 4 ?m and doped with concentration of 1016 cm-3 for all same for compositions. Solar-cells with these kinds have a performance of 24.89 % that is potentially higher than previously stated in the CIGS Solar-cell research.
