 Abstract

A large amount of almond shell is disposed of every year. The anatomical and chemical characteristics of Indian almond shell are investigated in this paper in order to contribute to better utilization of these shells. The object of the study to introduce the type of concrete that is more costly effective when compared to other concretes. The test results of an ongoing study are an attempt to use the low-cost solid waste material almond shell as a coarse aggregate in the production of structural weight concrete. The BS8110 standards specified acceptable limits for the span reflection ratio of lightweight structural concrete and this study shows the AS concrete complies with this. The micromorphology, surface elements, thermal stability, crystallization, chemical composition and relative properties of almond shell are analyzed. The utilization organic waste materials in concrete beneficial factor for environment. Few studies have been conducted on the use of almond shells in concrete and have shown good potential. This study has investigated the properties and the mechanical behavior of almond shells partially replacing the conventional aggregates in concrete. The replacements were 25, 50, and 75%. The almond shells show a uniform grading in its natural state when obtained from local farmers. Since the organic material is highly porous, it tends to absorb much of the water content in the mix which reduces the slump. Furthermore, with a 5% almond shells replacement, the specimens have shown a compressive strength of 17.03 MPa with density of 1850 kg/m3 which is within the limits of the ACI and BS standards and identified as a structural lightweight concrete. Further recommendations for future studies have been identified based on the results of this study. It can be concluded that for lightweight concrete as a structural material, almond shell shows great as a coarse aggregate. This result especially has significance for low-cost applications such as in housing construction.

 Abstract

Worldwide, colon cancer is among the top causes of cancer-related fatalities. Accurately identifying and classifying colon cancer early on may significantly improve patient outcomes. In recent years, image analysis has shown promise as a technique for locating and categorizing malignant tissues in the colon. The purpose of this research is to assess methods for visual colon cancer detection and classification. As part of the study technique, samples of both malignant and non-cancerous colon tissues were used to create a collection of picture data. Several preprocessing; methods, including color normalization and picture enhancement, are used to improve image quality. Utilizing techniques like texture analysis and morphological procedures, discriminative characteristics are derived from the photos. Several classification methods, such as support vector machines SVM random forests and PSO ( particle swarm optimization ), are used to categorize the photos into noncancerous groups.

 Abstract

It is challenging to make precise assessments of real estate prices due to its elevated individual prices, complicated influencing factors, and ambiguous attribute selection. As a result of the high demand for owner-occupied and investment properties, real estate is also a substantial concern for society. A hot topic for research by major institutions has been how to accurately estimate its price. Real world applications of real estate valuation impose stringent requirements on the acquisition of datasets and the generalizability of models. On the basis of SRGCNN, a spatial regression model with excellent generalizability, this project introduces an external attention mechanism to construct the A-SRGCNN model .For spatial regression, A-SRGCNN employs graph convolutional neural networks, and the external attention mechanism implicitly considers the relationship between property data. Experiments indicate that the A-SRGCNN model outperforms the benchmark model and has improved real estate price estimation accuracy. In the meantime, this project employs the A-SRGCNN model to conduct zonal experiments and time-division experiments and it is revealed that real estate prices exhibit spatial aggregation and price aggregation, with comparable prices within the zones, and that the A-SRGCNN model is effective at predicting house prices.

 Abstract

The Concrete is the most widely used building material in the world, due to its strength, durability and low cost. However, there is always a demand for improving the durability properties of concrete, especially in the face of the ever-increasing demand for sustainable construction materials. This study aims to investigate the durability properties of concrete when jute fibers are used as a reinforcing material. Jute fibers are obtained from the stem of the jute plant, which is a fast-growing crop that requires minimal fertilizer and pesticide input. Jute fibers are also biodegradable and renewable, making them an attractive option for sustainable construction materials. The use of jute fibers in concrete has been found to enhance the mechanical properties of concrete and reduce shrinkage. In this study, the effect of jute fibers on the durability properties of concrete is investigated. The durability properties considered in this study are the water absorption, acid resistance and sulphate resistance of concrete. The jute fibers were added to the concrete at varying percentages of 0.5%, 1%, and 2% by weight of cement.

 Abstract

A microstrip patch antenna is a flat, rectangular piece of metal placed on a dielectric substrate, with a larger metal sheet known as the ground plane beneath it. To ensure impedance matching between the patch and the microstrip line, a notch, referred to as an "inset," is strategically incorporated in the patch design. This project focuses on the design and simulation of a microstrip patch antenna for Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) applications, specifically targeting a resonating frequency of 2.4 GHz. The antenna employs direct contact feeding through a microstrip line on an FR-4 Epoxy substrate with a dielectric constant (?r) of 4.4 and a substrate height of 1.6mm. To match impedance, an inset is introduced in the patch, and Ansys High-Frequency Structural Simulator (HFSS) software is used for design and analysis of antenna and its parameters. These include reflection coefficient, gain, VSWR, and bandwidth. Fabrication is commonly carried out using the photolithographic technique commonly used in PCB design. Actual fabrication of the antenna is not a part of is study. However, a simple walkthrough into the steps involved in antenna design are highlight.

 Abstract

: The development of solar photovoltaic (PV) technology has made it one of the most important sources of renewable energy in the world, necessitating the use of sophisticated modeling and parameter estimate approaches. With the Single Diode Model and Newton's Raphson method, this work presents a novel method for the precise determination of electrical properties of solar PV modules. The Single Diode Model is well known for accurately describing the electrical behavior of solar PV modules in a straightforward manner. However, getting accurate parameter values is crucial for producing energy efficiently since it makes it possible to monitor the system, find faults, and do preventative maintenance. In this study, we suggest a reliable and effective approach for predicting crucial parameters, such as the ideality factor (n), reverse saturation current (Io), series resistance (Rs), and shunt resistance (Rsh), which have a substantial impact on the performance of solar PV modules. Due to its quick convergence and capacity to generate extremely precise parameter estimates, Newton's Raphson method is chosen as the iterative numerical methodology. Our created computational program uses current-voltage (I-V) curves, temperature, and irradiation parameters from the specific solar PV module under investigation as input data. Extensive simulations and actual experiments on a variety of solar PV modules are used to confirm the effectiveness of the suggested approach. The results show that it is robust in parameter estimation even in the face of data noise, changes in the environment, and ageing of the module. Precise parameter estimate is essential for improving the overall effectiveness, dependability, and longevity of solar PV installations as well as for monitoring system performance in real-time and identifying and resolving any problems. In conclusion, this research makes a substantial contribution to the development of parameter estimate methods for solar PV modelling, providing a useful tool for the renewable energy sector. The proposed methodology, which combines the Single Diode Model and Newton's Raphson method, offers a workable strategy for increasing energy production, making sure solar PV systems are dependable and sustainable, and maximising return on investment. This study has the potential to advance solar energy technology and strengthen its position as a major player in the switch to sustainable and clean energy sources.

 Abstract

Abstract Proper nutrition is the foundation of any successful athlete. It is the cornerstone that supports physical training, recovery, and overall health. Athletes need to understand that their bodies demand a specific balance of nutrients to meet the high demands of their training and competition schedule. Nutrition is important for an athlete because it provides energy required to perform the activity. The food they take leaves an impact on strength, training, performance and recovery. Not only the type of food is important for sport nutrition but also the time is equally important for what they eat throughout the day. Diet is of great importance to athletes, the key to achieving an optimal sports diet in relationship to peak performance and good health is balance. Athletes must fuel their bodies with the appropriate nutritional foods to meet their energy requirements in competition, training and recovery. Elite athletes are some of the most physically fit people in the world. They train for hours every day, and they push their bodies to the limit, in order to be the best in their Sport. But even with all their hard work, they can't reach peak performance without proper nutrition. A healthy diet is essential for elite athletes. It provides them with the energy they need to train and compete, and it helps to protect them from injuries. It also helps to improve athletes' recovery time, which allows them to train more often and improve their performance.

 Abstract

This project focuses on the design and implementation of a Modular Multilevel Inverter (MMI) tailored for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) drive system. The chosen MMI topology is the Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) MMI, which offers distinct advantages over traditional inverters, including enhanced voltage quality, reduced harmonic distortion, and increased reliability. The proposed design adopts a 7-level modular structure comprising multiple identical sub-modules connected in series, each housing a set of power semiconductor devices (i.e.) IGBTs. This modular approach facilitates scalability and simplifies maintenance. To ensure precise control over the output voltage and current waveforms, the project employs a sophisticated control strategy. This strategy incorporates carrier-based Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques, encompassing sinusoidal PWM and Space Vector Modulation (SVM). These control methods play a pivotal role in regulating the motor drive system's performance. In essence, this project combines advanced inverter technology with precise control mechanisms to enhance the efficiency and reliability of PMSM drive systems, making them suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.

 Abstract

Health monitoring is the continuous measurement of the loading environment and the critical responses of a system or its components. Health monitoring is typically used to track and evaluate performance, symptoms of operational incidents, anomalies due to deterioration and damage as well as health during and after an extreme event (Aktan et al, 2000). Health monitoring has gained considerable attention in civil engineering over the last two decades. Although health monitoring is a maturing concept in the manufacturing, automotive and aerospace industries, there are a number of challenges for effective applications on civil infrastructure systems. While successful real-life studies on a new or an existing structure are critical for transforming health monitoring from research to practice, laboratory benchmark studies are also essential for addressing issues related to the main needs and challenges of structural health monitoring. Health monitoring offers great promise for civil infrastructure implementations. Although it is still mainly a research area in civil infrastructure application, it would be possible to develop successful real-life health monitoring systems if all components of a complete health monitoring design are recognized and integrated.

 Abstract

ABSTRACT Objectives: Radiotherapy has side effects on the health by affecting body systems and also by increasing susceptiblity to some diseases. Glutamate pyruvate transaminase activity increases in the kidney of irradiated mice after irradiation. Opuntia elatior, an edible herb,is tested in this study for its ameliorating effects on radiation induced alterations in mice kidney GPT activity. Methods: Effect of O. elatior stem extract (OEE) was observed on the GPT activity in kidney of Swiss albino mice irradiated to a dose of 6 Gy of gamma radiation, 10 mg/kg body weight dose of OEE and both the treatments to record Glutamate puruvate transaminase (GPT) activity alterations in mouse kidney. The animals were scarified at days 1,3,5,10, 15, and 30 post-irradiation . Glutamate pyruvate transaminase activity was measured quantitatively by the altered method of Henery et al., 1974. Results: The GPT activity was normal in the mice without any treatment and increased in the irradiated group, lowered in only plant extract-treated group found increase in GPT activity after irradiation was decreased OEE pretreatment in the in OEE with irradiated group, normal GPT activity was achieved till day 30 after-treatment. Therefore, O. elatior controlled radiation-induced alterations in GPT activity. Conclusion: OEE reduced the radiation induced toxicity.Products of plant origin usually do not cause their ill effects on body's physiological processes; OEE is found useful in managing GPT activity. As OEE is as edible plant, is easy to use as cure and it also found to regulate Glutamate pyruvate transaminase activity in kidneys of mice.  Abstract

Cannabis has become the second most abused substance worldwide. Treatment of cannabis use disorder among the youth is a challenging task. Cannabis abuse can lead to immediate and long term complications on health, personal and social life. While addressing the issues related to management of cannabis abuse, measures to improve quality of life also need to be considered. The health care professionals should bear in mind that, blaming the patients with cannabis abuse is of no use. Helping them to realize their present situation is very important. Meditation is one of the techniques which will help the individual to introspect into oneself. There is increased evidence showing that meditation can improve the joys of life, ability to cope with illness, and possibly improve physical and emotional health. Mindfulness meditation is a recently evolved meditation technique which will help an individual to understand and live in the present moment without judging the past or without being anxious about the future. This increased awareness can lead to improvement in subjective well-being and quality of life.
