Lai, or Lais are a nationality presently inhabiting the Chin State and other parts of Myanmar, the state of Mizoram and parts of Manipur (India), and Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. Besides the self-appellation Lai, they are also known as Chin in Myanmar, and Pawi in India. The available historical accounts of the Lai at the time of the advent of the British in the Chin-Luhsai-Kuki land towards the end of the 19th century clearly point to the hypothesis that the Lai were a nation that was in the making.

Infertility is defined as failure to conceive within one or more years of unprotected coitus. While in Ayurveda, vandhyatva is failure to achieve a child rather than pregnancy as Garbha Strav (Repeated abortions) & Mrutvatsa (Repeated still births) are also included in types of infertility. Acharya Charaka has a unique drug classification according to its action known as Charakokta Mahakashaya. Prajasthapan Mahakashaya is amongst it. The drugs in Prajasthapan Mahakashaya has active principles which acts as fertility modulator. Many conditions can cause disturbance of Garbhpotpadak Samagris which are the basic factors in Garbhotpatti that is Rutu (fertile period), Kshetra (healthy reproductive system), Ambu (nutrition for the foetus) and Beej (ovum). Prajasthapan Dravyas acts on all these four factors with their special properties and shows miraculous effects in female infertility. Prajasthapan Mahakashaya includes 10 herbs as- Brahmi, Aindri, Shatavari, Doorva, Patala, Guduchi, Haritaki, Kutaki, Bala, and Priyangu having some specific actions called as Prabhava. Drugs in this Kashaya helps to remove Doshas from female reproductive system, improves strength and promotes conception. It also has Rasayana properties through which it improves qualities of Dhatus and improves rejuvenation. We can use this Kashaya in all conditions involving obstruction in the path of conception and leads excellence in progeny. This is a literary study based on review of Prajasthapan Mahakashaya and female infertility.

Caste system as an institution whose very existence is based on differential power relations, warrants the question of what constitutes this deeper dynamics of the power. Power by its very definition, institutes a certain individual or group of individuals overarching authority to command a situation, even steer others behaviour to reach their preferred outcomes, even at the cost of others. Power, in this sense, is characterized as a positional good for its very value lies in its scarce availability and the power one person holds is contingent upon the powerlessness of another individual. The power held by the upper caste would have no value if its not through rendering the lower castes powerless. There is a case to be made about how persistence of durable inequality in the caste system is a function of differential power equation and instead of there being a discernible source of power, it stems from the practices that constitute the system.

The soil acts as a reservoir for millions of microorganisms. This study aimed at isolating and characterizing plant growth-promoting bacteria as well as assessing their ability to promote plant growth. The present investigation was aimed towards isolation and purification of the strains from soil, their characterization , identification and further establishment of their biofertilizer potential on rice (Oryza sativa) plant. Five sampling sites namely S1 (Banana field soil, Hazipur), S2 (Near Gandhi Setu, wetland area), S3 (Sediment pond), S4 (Vaishali) and S5 (Sonepur) were selected. These isolates showed a wide range of temperature for growth between 4? C to 55? C which suggests its potential as biofertilizer. The maximum reproductive growths and size of fruits were obtained when the plants were grown in soil inoculated with S1 (C), S2 (F) and S3 (R) bacterial combinations. The molecular identification was carried out by16s rRNA sequencing. On the basis of BLAST alignment of the sequenced nucleotides the isolates S1(C), S2(F) and S3(R) were identified as different strains of Brevibacillus borstelensis and Paenibacillus dendritiformis, respectively. The isolates S1(C) and S2 (F) appear to be different strains of Brevibacillus borstelensis. The reported literatures suggest that the B. borstelensis acts as plant growth promoting bacteria whereas; P. dendritiformis as a biocontrol agent. All the three strains i.e. S1(C), S2 (F) and S3(R) favor rapid plant growth and inflorescence, thus forming a mixture of PGPR and biocontrol agents which in turn not only promote plant growth but also add to the plant vigor in fighting against diseases.

In the present investigation, the water of river Ganga near Barauni (Bihar) was studied at two different sites for two consecutive years with reference to standard plate count (S.P.C) and most probable number (M.P.N) of coliform bacteria. The average value of standard plate count(S.P.C) of bacteria were found varying from 0.19 4.82 x 10 6 /lit. at site-I and from 0.24 - 4.95 x 10 6 /lit. at site-II. Similarly, the M.P.N of coliform bacteria were found varying from 0.92 7.5 x 10 3 /lit. at site-I and from 1.2 8.4 x 10 3 /lit. at site-II. According to W.H.O the potable water should not contain any coliform organisms in 100ml. But in practice this standard is not attained hence the maximum permissible limit is 10 coliform. From the above finding the present investigation indicates that the higher concentration of bacteria and M.P.N of coliform at both sites exhibiting bacteriological degradation of river water.

Introduction Environmental Education basically provides knowledge about the awareness about issues pertaining to the environment, environmental problems and its protection. Off late, it is considered as one of the most important field of knowledge wherein individuals are able to analyze from various angles the environmental issues to find suitable solutions to environmental problems. Creation of awareness about ones own environment through Environmental Education and training is a means to increase the level of understanding of the people at all levels about the relationship between human beings and the environment to improve their life and protect the environment. The first landmark in the history of Environmental Education was the United Nations Conference on Human Environment at Stocknolm in 1972 followed by International Workshop on Environment Education at Belgrade, 1975 and the launch of the International Educational Programme jointly by UNESCO and UNEP. The public awakening to environmental pollution and general environmental problems culminated in the first Earth Day in 1970, which can be seen as the root of modern Environmental Education.

In this paper, an image resolution enhancement algorithm based on wavelet transform is proposed. The DWT-SWT uses the well known image resolution enhancement algorithm based on wavelet decomposition. The main focus of this paper lies in the optimization of DWT-SWT wavelet filters based on parameters related to edges in the image. Initially all the input images are classified into various bins based on the edges present in the image and each bin of images will be enhanced by applying unique wavelet filters. This library of wavelet filters are evolved using bio-inspired algorithm like genetic algorithm considering individual image bins. The individual image groups of satellite images are created based on the spatial frequency mean (SFM) and DWT-SWT wavelet filters are evolved for each groups for both near edge and far edge image namely local and global DWT-SWT filters. These enhancement algorithms are based on existing DWT-SWT based methods are proposed to improve the resolution of the low-resolution satellite images. The proposed algorithms suitably enhance the resolution of the image shows a significant improvement in the PSNR compared with the existing techniques.
