This paper focus the impact of safety management practices on safety compliance and the mediating role of employees' safety knowledge in large apparel firms in Sri Lanka. The methodology of this study was grounded on the quantitative approach and the type of investigation was correlational. The respondents were limited to 300 machine operators who were engaged during the period of the study in the large apparel firms in Sri Lanka. Data composed of a self-administered questionnaire containing 48 closed statements with a five point Likert type scale. Data was analysed through Statistical package of Social Science 23 and mediator examined through Sobel test. The results exposed significant impacts among safety management practises, safety compliance and safety knowledge constructs. Safety knowledge fully mediated the association among safety management practises and safety compliance. Results were imitative from the cross sectional technique and generalizability of the results to other groups of employees may get restricted as the sample contained only machine operators. This paper improves realistic confirmation in Sri Lankan context to approve the mediating role of employees' safety knowledge between safety management practices and safety compliance.

ABSTRACT The Clay mineral suites of Gosthani river especially in the estuary environment are characterized by high smectite with varying proportions of Illite and kaolinite, whereas the clay minerals in the river channel and distributary channel contain high kaolinite with varying proportions of smectite and Illite. These two characteristic clay suites are recorded in the river channel, distributary and estuary environments. The factors of differential settling and flocculation of clay minerals in the estuarine environment have minor or no effects on relative variation of clay minerals in the three different suites from the river channel, distributary and estuary environments. The mineral variation of kaolinite and smectite dominated zones are the major processes operative in the estuary environment.

The study was undertaken to obtain an overview of patterns of cancer in different part of Gujarat state. This study tests the validity and reliability of head and neck cancer module (QLQ-H&N) and the GORTC Core Questionnaire (QLQ) which was developed by the Gujarat Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (GORTC) and tested on 500 head and neck cancer patients from 12 cities. The patients completed the QLQ-C, the QLQ-H&N and a debriefing questionnaire before anti neoplastic treatment or at a follow-up. Two hundred thirty patients receiving treatment completed a second questionnaire after treatment. Problems were high and the questionnaire was well accepted by the patients. Multigrain scaling analysis confirmed the proposed scale structure of the QLQ-H&N. The QLQ-H&N was responsive between disease status, site and patients with recent performance status, and to changes over time. The new physical functioning scale with a four-point response format of the QLQ-C was shown to be more reliable than previous. The QLQ-H&N, in conjunction with the QLQ-C, shown to be reliable, valid and also applicable to broad multicultural samples of head and neck cancer patients.

Abstract: Background: Mothers are the primary caregivers of the neonate. Thus the knowledge of the mothers regarding danger signs of neonatal illness has a great influence on the health of the neonate. Mothers need to know the danger signs of sick newborn. They can explain these signs to others or family member in a simple language so as to enable them to identify the danger signs of neonatal illness and to seek early and prompt medical help. Materials and Methods: An evaluative study with Pre- experimental one-group pre-test post-test design was used to assess the effect of video assisted teaching module on knowledge of postnatal mothers regarding selected danger signs of neonatal illness. 100 samples were taken using Non Probability Purposive sampling from selected hospitals. The data was collected using self-structured demographic data and knowledge questionnaire. The validity of the tool was established by experts from the different departments i.e. Paediatric Medicine, Paediatric nursing, Midwifery & obstetric Nursing, Educationist and statistician. Certain items were modified as per their suggestions. After the validation of the tool, the final tool was made and its reliability was checked. Tool was administered to 10 selected samples. Reliability was assessed using test-retest method for knowledge section, Pearson's correlation coefficient was found to be 0.91. Results: The analysis was done by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Researcher applied paired t-test for the effect of video assisted teaching module on knowledge of postnatal mothers regarding selected danger signs of neonatal illness. Average knowledge score in pre-test was 7.3 which increased to 15.9 in post-test. T-value for this test was 38.6 with 99 degrees of freedom. Corresponding p-value was small (less than 0.05), the null hypothesis is rejected. It is evident that the video assisted teaching module was significantly effective in improving the knowledge among postnatal mothers regarding selected danger signs of neonatal illness Conclusion: Most of the neonatal deaths can be avoided by early identification of danger signs of neonatal illness. Video assisted teaching module for recognition of danger signs of neonatal illness and increased health-seeking behaviour can lead to significant reductions in neonatal mortality. In the present study sufficient improvement in knowledge regarding selected danger signs of neonatal illness is found. Video Assisted teaching module was effective in improving the knowledge among postnatal mothers.

Criminal actions have always been associated with men but with the time women are also coming into the limelight. Women were always considered as nurturers, care givers and victims of this patriarchal society. With the increase in the violence against women, they are forced to commit criminal acts. In this paper, I have tried to analyse the concept of criminology from feminist perspective with reference to the biological, psychological and sociological aspects. This paper will also discuss the status and reasons of criminal actions committed by females in India and its neighbouring countries. This paper is written after referring to secondary sources such as journals, articles and books.

This article aims to present a comprehensive view of the Foster Care system in Karnataka, the matter of the adaptation of State Guidelines, the implementation of these guidelines and the loopholes within the current system. The strategy of this presentation has been to offer the two major case studies - one that looks at the current status of Foster Care in Karnataka (Home State to the researchers, currently), and then at the current system of Foster Care in Rajasthan (one of the only States in India reputed for having a fully functioning, government authorised system). As a result of these discussions, the chapter will propose a new model of Foster Care - one that takes into consideration the existence of Foster Care as a system of child care and protection, separate from the model of adoption. It will also look at the link between adoption and Foster Care, and whether this link should exist. This model also aims at providing solutions for the current limitations of the system as well as some form of risk analysis, that may present as warning signs for the system in the future.

Route with Indian Constellation (NaVIC) is the operational name given for Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) created by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for precise situating applications. In no distant future, the airplanes that are operable in the Indian area will be hand-held with IRNSS L5 and S-band recurrence estimations. The fleeting inclinations comprehend the sign conduct that helps for the security of airplane applications. We proposed a Recursive Least Squares (RLS) method to display the ionospheric range blunder as needs be with latitudinal and longitudinal angle data. The calculation turned out for double recurrence L5 and S-band signs and GPS L1 estimations acquired from IRNSS beneficiaries situated at a low-scope point (16.23oN, 80.44o E). To notice occasional slope varieties, the proposed model run for three long periods of September equinox, December solstice, and geomagnetic-upset action information. The separate all out electron content (TEC) with mean and greatest angles for multi-recurrence signals are talked about. There will be ionospheric gradients which will hugely impact on geomagnetic distributed ionospheric conditions and these decrease the accuracy of the NaVIC satellite system to avoid this we came with the idea of ionospheric gradient analysis using weighted least square algorithm for NaVIC L5 signals.
