 Abstract

Human life is a prized possession; the best product of cosmic process emerged so far. It has been a remarkable psycho-physical evolution through genetic endowment, ecological interaction and cultural transformation, through innate competence and overt performance. Reflective awareness and self-consciousness are its unique features. On the basis of his/her planned endeavor and successful behavior human being has been able to achieve wonderful feats. A mechanistic understanding of human ontology and human evolution cannot do justice to the spontaneity, creativity and goal-oriented human pursuits. The reality is experienced to be through and through telos-embedded and human life being its part and parcel has to reflect this feature. Teleological approach alone can support a viewpoint that coordinates work and welfare, possession and enjoyment with a spirit of sacrifice, social progress and social justice, material well-being and spiritual enhancement. The cosmic process is an ongoing movement. It does not halt or wait. Nothing should be regarded as final, inevitable and conclusive at the present juncture. If it is turned and twisted in a wrong direction it will keep on moving in that direction only. But if it is given a right turning and tuning it can move in a desirable direction. It is for the free, rational, and responsible human agent to choose the correct path and provide a right direction to the cosmic process. Here comes the role of knowledge, values and education under the guidance of philosophical reflections. For this purpose there is need for reviewing and rethinking of the required mode of philosophizing.

 Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has severely altered societies and labor markets. Within weeks, severe constraints on mobility were imposed via border and business closures, quarantines, and movement restrictions. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating consequence on every aspect of life. Migrant workers, especially women, are more vulnerable and face many deprivations from being poor and from their occupation as informal workers. Women face losing their livelihood, facing human rights violations, and contracting COVID-19. Women are severely affected more because, in many contexts, they are considered less productive and consequently occupy a lower position and rank in society. Female-headed families and groups are significantly affected by COVID-19 and cannot meet household needs due to the lack of economic options. The pandemic also exacerbates prevalent gender inequalities and disparities. It is represented as a gendered pandemic in amalgamation with its classed and racialized dimensions. COVID-19 has severely impacted women and girls in health, economy, social protection, and gender-based violence. There persists gender wage gap, and migrant women disproportionately work in more precarious, insecure, and informal employment that receives low pay. Women are more vulnerable to experience violence within workplaces, and migrant women, particularly those working informally, face more hardships and have little to no social protection. This paper analyzes how the global health crisis amplifies existing gender dynamics and creates new gender-biased outcomes that disproportionately impact migrant workers. The focus of the study also examines the health, social and domestic care services that migrant women workers provide and are essential during the pandemic.

Ecocriticism can be described in terms of literature and environment which includes the exceeds of the human, where human beings are interrelated and conceptualized. This article creates literary studies of ecology in the twentieth century from three different postcolonial countries. Much critical analysis has been done on Canadian landscapes, Canadian environments, climate, 'new' places, language, flora, fauna and peoples of Canada in connection with the colonial and postcolonial cultural studies and Diasporic literature. Canadian ecological sensibility is only identified after the 1960s and 1970s till then there was a fearful response to nature. But, like gambling obsession or dependency to tobacco, liquor, or narcotics, social media use may trigger psychological hunger pangs. If you receive a like, a retweet, or a positive response to a tweet, it can cause the release of dopamine in the brain, the same "reward" chemical that accompanies winning on a slot machine, taking a bite of chocolate, or lighting up a cigarette, for example. The more rewarded you are, the more energy you want to spend on social media, even though it is counterproductive to other areas of your life. Some studies indicate that excessive use of social media has an interdependent relationship with reduced sleep quality in young people. It seems that younger folks love being actively linked to the virtual environment that they develop a fear of missing out (FOMO). It can keep you to come back to social media again and again. Even though there are very few issues that can't wait or necessitate an immediate answer, FOMO will have you believing otherwise. Many of us use social media as a "protective shield" as well.  Abstract

In Nepal only four percent energy is supplied to agriculture sector. While about 90 percent energy is consumed at household level. This shows that energy is used in less productive sector contributing significantly low to national development. In rural areas, people still use conventional sources of energy such as firewood and kerosene. Replacement of these fuels and supply of alternative renewable sources needs harnessing untapped water resource through the application of renewable energy technologies. One of such technology is micro hydropower. This study is a case study of Fakfok-II micro hydropower project in north-west Ilam district of Nepal. It explored the socio-economic impacts of the micro hydropower project. The study found that the fakfok-II micro hydropower project mobilized local resources, saved money by replacing conventional fuel such as kerosene, and encouraged socio-economic modernization by the establishment of small enterprises by the users.

 Abstract

In recent days, invention of new platforms in social media has given lot of boost to the business development. In the business process social media is playing an important role as a deciding factor for success or failure of a business in a growing economy of the country. One such platform which helps people to understand and gauge the business prospectus is twitter. In this paper we are addressing the problem of sentiment analysis in twitter; which mainly deals with classifying tweets according to the sentiment expressed in them: positive, negative or neutral. Twitter is an online micro-blogging and social-networking platform which allows users to write short status updates of maximum length 140 characters. It is a rapidly expanding service with over 200 million registered users - out of which 100 million are active users and half of them log on twitter on a daily basis - generating nearly 250 million tweets per day. Due to this large amount of usage we hope to achieve a reflection of public sentiment by analysing the sentiments expressed in the tweets. Analysing the public sentiment is important for many applications such as firms trying to find out the response of their products in the market, predicting political elections and predicting socioeconomic phenomena like stock exchange. The aim here is to develop a functional classifier for accurate and automatic sentiment classification of an unknown tweet stream.

Abstract: Green revolution led to the massive growth in cereal production and made Haryana state as one of the most productive states in India. Thanks to states like Haryana and Punjab, food crisis that India used to face had been averted. But the cereals like rice and wheat led to the negligence of crop diversity in the state. Due to support from government in the form of MSP, maximum farmers grew only these two cereals. With the advancement in economic and social condition of people, food requirement changes were felt. All the nutrient food like fruits and vegetables are needed for absolute growth of an individual, which was realised by families, mostly in urban areas. To meet demands of these changing food habits, horticulture growth is being promoted by government in last two decades. It has become necessary on both the producer and consumer level. The changing climatic conditions, pressure on land, excessive use of fertilisers and pesticides and limited availability of water resource are the main reasons that the government as well as farmers are seeking an alternative to food grains. Horticulture also fulfills, nutritional requirements of people which are increasing rapidly in the present decades because of more awareness among people regarding their health and dietary habits. As the consumption pattern changes so we need to also change the production pattern. Hence, the government of Haryana is investing hugely to increase the production of horticultural crops. Main schemes of state as well as that of centre are being implemented in the state to increase the output ads to support and encourage the producers in this regard. Vegetables form an important and main part of horticultural crops in Haryana. The present piece of research work has been focused on vegetable farming to identify the pattern of vegetable crops as well as best crop combination in the study area. To improve production in a sustainable manner, it is necessary to comprehend the patterns of production. It is observed that horticulture farming holds bright future in prospects of farmer of the state, as it can lead to increase in their income and can improve their social status as well. But to achieve these said goals, a focus is needed to understand the varieties of crops and which crops are suited on which type of land and requires what amount of water. So, that the clear picture about vegetable crop combinations are essential to better understand the horticulture production and further valuable decision making to uplift the economy of the farming society.
