Abstract: This research work, treatment of sludge which is obtained from a tannery industries. The sludge consists of potentially toxic heavy metals and organisms, was analyzed, and the performance of solidification and stabilization (S/S) of the sludge was discussed. The toxic characteristics of the sludge were determined by means of extraction procedure toxicity test the standards specify by EPEPA 1311 & 200.8 S/S investigation were conducted using fly ash alone and fly ash with Portland cement to solidify the sludge containing high concentration to total organic subtances Cr, Pb, Cu, Zn, Ni, Fe and Cl. The waste binder ratios of 72 sludge specimens were kept below 0/100 and 30 / 100, in both fly ash and fly ash with OPC. Each the specimens were cured at room temperature for 3,7,14 and 28 days. The compressive strength of these two sets of specimens were determined also the feasibility of using the solidified. Tannery sludge in to safe landfill. The compressive strength values indicate the dilution of sludge mass in to rainwater. The heavy metal were identified which were lower than the standard concentration in EPA and RCRA (Recourse, conservation & recovery acts) recommendations.

Brachymenium bryoides is an important genus of moss generally regarded as an indicator plant to understand the effects of climate change. In Darjeeling Himalayan region, like any other biodiversity hotspots, the moss flora is very rich, although neglected. Any biochemical work on these plants, especially the present species is absolutely lacking. The presence of enzyme L-myo-inositol-1-phosphate synthase (MIPS) is essential for the survival of this moss like any other groups of plants since it forms the cell walls as well as the sexual units in plants. The enzyme MIPS from Brachymenium bryoides utilizes D-glucose-6-phosphate as a substrate NAD+ as a co-factor respectively. It showed a pH optimum at 7.5 while the temperature maximum was at 40S?C. The enzyme activity was remarkably stimulated by Ca2+, NH4+ and Mg2+ and extremely inhibited by Zn2+, Cd2+, Mn2+ and Hg2+. The Krn values for D-glucose-6-phosphate and NAD+ were found to be as 6.72 mM and 0.78 mM respectively while the Vrnax values were 1.62 mM and 1.11 mM for D-glucose-6-phosphate and NAD+ respectively.

Communication is a process which can convey the information from person to person and generation to generation. In the absence of modern means of communication, folk media could be impressed the people of folk society. The way of life itself was an ideal type which made communication easy and simple pertaining to folk people. Folk knowledge and everyday life of folk people always going hand in hand. Despite of contemporary changes in media and communication in terms of improvement of science and technology, the folk media of communication can draw the attention of mass even in present. The changes in folk society and folk culture due to ramification of modernization became the area of my study. The study is an essential to know the emerging patterns of communication and decreasing popularity of folk forms of recreation. It is an important to perceive the changes and understanding the attitude of folk people about their lives and culture. Modern means of technology brought drastic social changes even in Indian folk villages. Countrified-culture and village settlement patterns are being modified as a result of modern means of communication and connectivity. As a result, the village communities are being changed due to rational thoughts provoked by folk media past and mass media present.

Flow fields are generated prior to combustion in internal combustion engines during the induction process in suction stroke and they undergo changes during the compression stroke. It is very essential to understand the fluid motion during suction and compression strokes for developing new engine designs with the best performance and emission characteristics. Therefore, computational studies have been carried out to comprehend the role of in-cylinder flow structure. In this 3D CFD, Ansys Forte V18 is used to study the incylinder fluid motion and performance and emissions of the direct injection compression ignition engines. The optimization of the omega shaped reentrant piston bowl with variation in compression ratio has been carried out by varying the piston height and reentrant radius. The obtained results are plotted during the compression stroke and expansion strokes and are analysed. The results showed that, the bowl shapes plays a significant role in the incylinder fluid motion, performance and emissions of compression ignition engines. It controls the fuel-air mixing and burning rates in compression ignition engines.

Abstract: The Kosi River is important regarding its geological settings, basin characteristics, flow characteristics, and its dynamism. The large upper catchment area, high number of first and second order streams, large Himalayan glacier sources makes the river high flood prone. The present study strongly suggests that morphometric characteristics of Kosi River helps for frequent flooding and related embankments failure. All of these characteristics have been accessed through remote sensing and GIS techniques.

The investigator has tried to explore the academic performance of ST students in summative assessments at higher secondary stage. The findings of the study are: The academic performance of ST students in EMRS in summative assessments is not satisfactory. Most of the ST student perform within the range of 30%-59%. One of the reasons may be due to lack of sufficient teachers recruited in the EMRS. Teachers in EMRSs are contractual in nature. While working in EMRSs, the investigator found that those PGTs who have been appointed from last four years they do not stay in the campus. They leave the campus because of lack of residential facilities and low pay scale provided to them. Though Government has taken a lot of initiative to attract well-qualified teachers to these tribal areas, these facilities are not sufficient for them (as the teachers have reported to the investigator). Higher secondary classes are running with guest teachers from other schools/colleges which do not fulfill the purpose. Thus, policymakers, planners, state government authorities, central government authorities, Ministry of Tribal Affairs must review the academic performance of ST students in various examinations conducted in Eklavya Model Residential Schools in the State of Odisha and implement recommendations very minutely to improve the academic performance of ST students at higher secondary stage. Well qualified regular teachers with high pay scale rather some special incentive to teach in tribal zones of the State should be provided to newly recruited teachers in EMRS in Odisha.

Foliar epidermal features of seven species of Acanthaceae grown in natural habitat (control) and in areas of environmental stress were analysed using micromorphological and histochemical characters. The parameters include size of stomata, size of epidermal cells, size of cystolith, palisade ratio, stomatal frequency and stomatal index. Histochemical localisation of starch indicated abnormalities in stomatal complex under environmental stress. How ever, mesogenous stomatal complex though a vegetative entity, is least deviated by the environmental stress; can be considered as reliable as any other conservative taxonomic character for delimiting Acanthaceae. Length and breadth of stomata, epidermal cell and cystolith were analysed on the basis of students t test. In majority of cases, significant variations were obtained. In the plants grown under environmental stress when tested with chi square, no significant change was observed for palisade ratio and stomatal index. Stomatal frequency showed significant variation under enviromnteal stress, except in Strobilanthes ciliatus. Justicia gendarussa appears to be the most tolerant species while Justicia betonica and Ruellia tuberosa are highly susceptible to environmental stress.

Travelling is a major part of our daily life. We all need to travel from one place to another to reach our destination. One of the major problem faced with travelling today is traffic congestion. It will consume a lot of our valuable time in the congestion. So the major solution to such a problem is rerouting the vehicles. Also long time exposure to polluted and congested road environment leads to many of the breathing and health problems to human beings. So the aim of this paper is to find out a route with less congestion and pollution. The system uses ant colony optimization to determine the optimal route from multiple routes. Google maps can be used to get real time route information.

In this paper we have developed a simple method for the construction of Complete Diallel Crosses(CDC) plan through BIBD with parameter v= b = 4?+3, r = k = 2?+1, ?. Analysis of plans is carried out. We have also obtained the efficiency factor of complete diallel crosses plans comparing randomized block design and found that as large value of v(line) is increasing then the efficiency factor tends to one. Method of construction and analysis of CDC plan is further supported by suitable example.

Purpose: The Indian direct selling industry has been beating the economic slowdown, notching up remarkable growth over the years and has been expanding its horizons in India as a rapidly emerging alternate distribution channel. Indian direct selling industry has provided employment to 40.31 lakh distributors in 2015-16. In FY 2015-16, the direct selling industry had sales of Rs 8,308.5 crore as against Rs 7,958.3 crore of FY 2014-15 by registering a growth rate of 4.4 per cent and are expected to grow to Rs. 2,58,261 million by 2024-25. Multilevel marketing (subset of direct selling) is the most merest and powerful way of setting up own business and to create sales revenue and profits. It offers true wealth, financial independence, and personal time freedom. This research paper proposes to examine the influence of motivational factors on the willingness to adopt Multilevel marketing as a source of income. Design/Methodology/Approach: The present research work follows descriptive research design. The sample of the research work consisted 381 registered distributors of different Multilevel marketing companies like Amway, Modicare, Oriflame, Tupperware, Avon etc. from Delhi/NCR. which have been chosen by applying purposive judgmental sampling design Findings: The findings designate that Multilevel marketing products attributes, personal and social factors have a significant positive influence on the willingness to adopt Multilevel marketing as a source of income. Multilevel marketing company attributes do not have a significant positive influence on the willingness to adopt Multilevel marketing as a source of income. Practical Implications: Multilevel marketing industry could undertake the opportunity to attract more and more distributors through strengthening its credibility and reliability. Government should also take necessary as well as sufficient actions to create a positive as well as legal identity of Multilevel marketing industry. Originality/Value: Due to rise in cost of living, it has been observed that not only women but also men are also adopting it as a supplementary income prospect as consumption basket of the families has puffed up over the years. This is an opportunity for the growth of Multilevel marketing industry in India which can be grabbed through strengthening its base in terms of products, legality, ethicality as well as personal and social development of Multilevel marketing distributors.
