Among all the criteria required for a test, Validity is the most important criterion as it ensures that the test measures what it claims to measure. Hence all tests, especially the ones that make a major impact on the life of people, must undergo a validity check. Such a check will ensure that the huge efforts by the government in terms of test construction, and administration is justified. One of these major test administrators in Tamil Nadu is the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) which offers various tests that diagnose the level of applicants for various administrative positions in the civil society. In this paper the authors try to comment on the language tests employed in the TNPSC exams, and make a theoretical prediction of their validity. During this exploration, efforts will also be made to investigate into the criterion, content and construct validity of the test items.

In present paper we propose a general exponential ratio type estimator for estimating population mean of study variable. An estimator utilizing information on population median of study variable has been developed for improved estimation of population mean. The expressions for the bias and mean squared error have been derive up to approximation of degree one. The proposed estimator is theoretically compared with other competing estimators of population mean. Theoretical developments have been judged through the numerical study. It has been shown through the numerical study that proposed estimator performs better than other competing estimators which make use of auxiliary information collected on additional cost of the survey.

The teacher is the key person in any educational reform or advancement. The success of education depends upon teachers. Teachers along with scholarship in their subject also should acquire proper knowledge regarding their profession. One or two years training at a college of education is not an end to the rich experience he has to gain as a teacher but it is more a prelude. The professional training is of little value unless reinforced by further experience and training during his service period. In service education, a recent concept is now acknowledged as the essential requisite of efficient teacher.

Semantic relatedness is a type of estimation that quantitatively recognizes the connection between two words or ideas in light of the comparability or closeness of their importance. In the current years, there have been critical endeavors to register SR between sets of words or ideas by misusing different information assets, for example, semantically organized (e.g. WordNet) and cooperatively created learning bases (e.g. Wikipedia), among others. The current methodologies depend on various strategies for using these learning assets, for example, techniques that rely upon the way between two words, or a vector portrayal of the word portrayals. The motivation behind this paper is a comprehensive survey Measuring Semantic Relatedness between Web Search Content. Furthermore, we give rules to analysts and specialists on the best way to choose the most important SR strategy for their motivation. At last, in light of the similar investigation of the looked into relatedness measures, we distinguish existing difficulties and conceivably important future research bearings in this space.

This study assesses the existing capacity in the country for foreign currency risk management, its findings generate knowledge in this area hitherto unknown. The study is of descriptive in nature and the sample respondents were 38. Findings of this study indicated an inadequate capacity among individuals/firms to manage foreign exchange risk. Consequently, this study proposes remedial measures to enhance foreign currency risk management capacity through training. Improved foreign currency risk management shall, it is argued, minimize losses and increase the value of firms.

Assembly line balancing is the method of assigning tasks to workstations so that there will be maximum utilization of human resources and facilities without disturbing the work sequence. Many exact, heuristic and other approaches have been proposed for solving different types of assembly line balancing problems. This paper mainly focuses on improving overall efficiency of single model assembly line by distribution of work load on each workstation by RPW method for same cycle time proposed in the case study without violating precedence constraints, in order to improve the efficiency of line. Accordingly it resulted in improvement of other parameters of the existing line.
