At present in India, about 960 million metric tons of solid waste is being generated annually as byproducts during industrial, mining, municipal, agricultural and other processes. Advances in solid waste management resulted in alternative construction materials as a substitute to traditional materials. The main objective of this thesis is to investigate the strengthening effects of polymer material on ternary blended concrete by incorporating (30%) Fly ash and (50%) GGBS. The workability properties of polymer modified concrete were also investigated. Adopted polymer includes the Styrene-butadiene-rubber (SBR) latex varied at the rate of 2%, 3% and 4% by weight of cementitious material. The strength properties considered for the study are Compressive strength, flexural strength and Tensile strength of concrete. The strength properties of ternary blend concrete are compared with strength properties obtained for conventional concrete and binary blend concrete with GGBS and fly ash individually in the mix.

Management of patients with missing teeth keeps on challenging clinicians to find the best treatment options. The Orthodontist must make the proper decision at a suitable time with respect to the management of the edentulous space. If space is left for an eventual prosthetic substitution, the clinician should attempt to create the exact amount of space required and leave the alveolar ridge in an ideal condition for future restoration. If space is to be closed orthodontically, detrimental changes to the occlusion and facial profile must be forestalled. Therefore, the right choice must be made at the appropriate time. This article reviews the literature on orthodontic treatment involving extraction space closure by mesialization and highlights many of the clinical contemplations when treating such cases.

It is well known that the extract from plants exhibit various medicinal benefits which have been adopted in various fields of health and medicine. In this study the antimicrobial activity of Azadirachta indica, Eucalyptus sp. and Lantana camara was determined against E.coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus and a comparison was made between the extract of plants grown on normal land and the one growing in tannery polluted areas. The extraction methods used for plant leaf and bark were aqueous extraction and methanol extraction. The bacterial culture were grown in brain heart infusion liquid medium at 37C and was inoculated in agar plates. Screening for antibacterial potential of the plant extracts was done by conducting MIC (minimal inhibitory concentration) test. The methanolic and aqueous extract both showed different antimicrobial activity in terms of zone of inhibition and also the extract from the plants of tannery polluted area varied in their antimicrobial potential from that of plants grown on normal land. Although methanolic extracts were found to be more effective against microbes in comparison with aqueous extract but all the bacteria found to be inhibited though to varying degrees.

The emergence of multiple drug resistant pathogenic bacteria are of great concern to the human health.Plants and plant extracts has been proved to be very beneficial for human health. Plant extract can be used as antimicrobial, food preservative agents and in controlling food poisoning diseases. By the long term use of similar type of antimicrobial agents, pathogenic bacteria develop some resistant property and show multiple drug resistant activity against antimicrobial agents. As time changes antimicrobial agents also need to modify with some new compositions. Present study is aimed to developed effective antimicrobial agent by combining it with aqueous and methanolic plant extract. Lantana camara was used to study their antimicrobial effect on pathogenic bacteria viz., E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus and, Pseudomonas aruginosa. The synergistic effect of Lantana camara plant parts extract with ampicillin and gentamycin were studied on pathogenic bacteria. The antimicrobial property were determined using agar disc diffusion technique.

ABSTRACT Quality is an elusive concept. The quality of education is a result of collective effort of all stakeholders in teacher education, which includes the state, the society, the employer, parents, the management, teachers and students. Among the stakeholders the students are the primary stakeholders and all quality measures, which are to be benchmarked against the student interests. This is the student-centric approach to quality. The focus is on student satisfaction like consumer satisfaction and competition as a drive of excellence. The democratic approach Education is viewed as a social process and student is considered as a participant in the process of knowledge creation and use. The focus is more on student-teacher partnership in the learning process. We consider democratic approach is more appropriate to the present content. The enthusiasm of students is not equally shared by all participants. There are many voices of caution expressed, particularly by educational administrators. One of the presentations on the findings of the study of opinions of teachers on student participation is very revealing. A majority of teachers, who participated in the survey, are skeptical of any positive contributions of student participation in quality enhancement. The present research falls under the purview of quantitative research and hence quantitative methods, such as data collection, analysis, comparison, tabulation and illustration, are used. Among 48 randomly selected colleges of education, I received replies from 19 colleges of education only, and the same data are taken for granted for analysis. In most real-world today applications need to make large volume of transactions in a small period over networks and this raw big data struggle data analytics to handle many problems. Solving class imbalance problems in real-world datasets pose a great challenge in research fields as performance of the classifiers are suffered from this very large different ratio of class labels. Many mechanisms tried to handle these problems with reducing high rate in data level while degrading the accuracy performance of the classifiers and vice versa. Hence, a framework to solve imbalance distribution of class labels in data level with the best accompanied classifier in supervised mechanisms, is proposed in this paper. Effectiveness of proposed framework is assessed by using the real-world dataset and the empirical results are compared to other well-known systems and the former works. The proposed work achieved the acceptable results and outperform than the other works.

Multi-label learning and classification difficulties appeared in many real-world applications of Data mining and AI systems. These situations create a wide range of problems in today's big data era as data streams problems. Although a significant amount of classification for multiple labeling for both normal data and streams data have been made as to the advancement of the basic classifier and different ensemble ways, the multi-label data streams challenge still a hot topic for research works. Therefore, this paper proposes a mechanism to support the big data streams problems of multiple labeling based on lazy classification of K-nearest neighbor, namely ML-KNN. The experiments are carried out using the standard multi-label data streams set and executed with the state-of-the-art data streams algorithms and also compared with the previous multi-label research works. The proposed method makes a significant performance for multi-label classification among the well-known and existing works of different advancements.

Rice husk ash (RHA) based ladle covering compound (LCC) is commonly used in steel industry to reduce the temperature loss while transferring hot metal from iron making units to steel making units. In the present work, an alternate low cost ladle covering compound has been developed and tried at plant scale to reduce the cost and effective use of process waste. The new compound consists of fly ash containing 6-12% carbon to meet the properties required for ladle covering compound. Physical, chemical and thermal properties of both the RHA and flyash based LCC were studied. Operational parameters such as spreadability, melting, track-time temperature loss, ease of ladle cleaning, elemental pick up by liquid metal, specific consumption etc. were monitored during trials. While the physical, chemical and thermal performance of the new compound was at par with RHA based compound, the specific consumption has reduced by 10% resulting in reduced dust level during usage and cleaning. Flyash contains less alkali as compared to RHA based LCC which is advantageous to ladle refractory life.

Education plays a vital role in changing social life and quality of life. Although India ranks second in terms of the world's total population, it lags far behind in terms of education. The number of colleges and universities in West Bengal and India has increased significantly from 1950-51 to 2018-19. However, the female enrolment is much lower than that of male enrolment in every level of higher education except Post Graduation course. Category wise higher education has the largest number of SCs but ST has the highest female enrolment growth rate in West Bengal. Another issue that has come up in this paper is that female enrolment in higher education in West Bengal has decreased in the distance mode from 2011-12 to 2017-18 but has increased in the regular mode. The exact opposite has happened in the case of male enrolment. In the present paper, Researcher has tried to highlight the female enrolment status at various levels of higher education for the last 8 years of India and as a special reference to West Bengal.

The article begins with the basic understanding of disability as mentioned and discussed in different scriptures at different times through the ages and finds it difficult to say that the earlier times were more difficult for the disabled against the falsely perceived notion that our culture and heritage treated disabled in a biased manner. The article also deals with the changing perception of the issue in modern times particularly with the development of modern science and medicine with its pedagogy and assistive technology but raises question on the validity and feasibility in singularity of the technological or medical model and suggests social model for a coherent and harmonious development and well being of the disabled persons.

The shielding parameters of two materials for carbon and lead were measured and calculated based on the attenuation coefficient values in the energy range of 511keV to 1332keV. These values are obtained by calculating the exponential absorption equation by using the radiation intensities before and after count rates. The radioactive sources were placed in front of the detector and the various thickness of the sample were placed between the source and the photo-multiplier tube (PMT) of the NaI (Tl) detector.
