 Abstract

The aim of this work is presents a direct power control (DPC) scheme for regulating stator active and reactive power for grid-connected Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) .the machine is connected to a public network and operates as a generator. Its rotor is powered by a voltage of two-level inverter. We offer the control of the DFIG by two strategies the first is based on the use of conventional direct power control (C-DPC) with hysteresis regulators and sliding mode control (SMC). Simulation results of proposed controller show successfully effectiveness such as the error between reference and actual values is enforced to zero comparatively to the C-DPC one. Besides, the robustness of machine parameter variation on system conversion simultaneous of wind speed is investigated.

 Abstract

Background. Numerous reviews report the beneficial effects of alpha tocopherol in preventive supplementation and also as an adjuvant in the treatment of some pathologies (cardiovascular, cancers). In this work, we analyzed the effects of vitamin E at high doses on some biochemical parameters. Methods. Thirty-two adult male and female mice (CD1 albino mice) were randomly selected for a 4-week experiment. The mice were supplemented with alpha tocopherol at doses of 150, 400 and 750mg/day. With a high dietary intake of vitamin E. Results. According to our analyses, we can note Excess weight predominated in groups 4 to 7. All the blood lipid parameters showed an abnormal concentration, as of the 400 mg dose of ?-T-acetate. Hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia were observed. These variations were more pronounced for total cholesterol and triglycerides than for HDL and LDL fractions. Conclusion. This study revealed that the consumption of high doses of vitamin E conferred on the animals a pro-oxidant status which induced a disturbance in lipid metabolism. This dysfunction resulted in obesity, kidney and liver abnormalities.

 Abstract

The study was conducted to assess the knowledge regarding Gestational Diabetes Mellitus among pregnant mothers and self care practice of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus management among mothers with diabetes in pregnancy attending selected hospitals 0f Srinagar Kashmir India. The objectives were to assess the level of knowledge regarding Gestational Diabetes Mellitus among pregnant mothers, to assess the self care practice of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus management among mothers with diabetes in pregnancy, to find association between level of knowledge regarding Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and selected demographic variables,to find correlation between knowledge and self care practice of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus management among mothers with diabetes in pregnancy. The research design used in the present study is non experimental descriptive design. The study was conducted among 60 antenatal mothers and 15 mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus by using non probability convenient sampling technique. In the present study it was found that 33.3%mothers had poor knowledge, 33.3% had average knowledge and 33.3% had good knowledge regarding Gestational diabetes mellitus. When comes to practice 46.7% had satisfactory practices and 53.3% had good practice. There is a positive correlation between knowledge and practice (p=0.04).

 Abstract

Multiphase asynchronous machines are used more and more for reasons of reliability and power segmentation. This study deals with the modeling and the control of a dual star induction generator (DSIG) connected to the grid via two rectifiers and a three-phase inverter controlled by PWM. A second order sliding mode has been applied to the DSIG control. The last part of this work was devoted to the integration of the DSIG in the wind energy conversion system. The results of simulations presented at the end of this work show the effectiveness of the proposed control in particular on the quality of the energy supplied to the grid.

 Abstract

Alopecia areata is a common autoimmune skin disease causing hair loss on the scalp, face and sometimes on other areas of the body. Alopecia can be the cause of psychological stress, individuals with it may experience social phobia, anxiety and depression. In modern medicine topical or injected corticosteroids are used to treat this condition. Due to side effects and limitation of the contemporary science, some harmless and effective medicines are expected from Alternative medical sciences. Ayurveda has great potential to treat such autoimmune diseases. In Ayurveda it can be correlated to Indralupta one of the k?udra roga. In the present case study, a case of Alopecia areata was managed with Ayurvedic medicines. Patient presented with patches of baldness on head with redness since 6 months. Scraping by Parijata Patra for 5min than apply Rasanjana and Hastidanta masi along with Gomutra arka on affected area. For Siro-abyanga dhatura patra taila was applied on scalp along with some internal medications were also give to the patient. Regrowth of hairs was achieved. Patient felt relieved of redness and itching of scalp also. This case study reveals the potential of Ayurvedic management of Alopecia areata and may form a basis for further detailed study of the subject.

 Abstract

The smoking prevalence has been increased in developing countries in last few decades. Nearly 80% of more than 1 billion smokers worldwide live in low- and middle-income countries, where the burden of tobacco-related illness and death. This paper explores actual prevalence of cigarette smoking amongst men of Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is population based cross-sectional survey carried out in the people ages 15-65 years by using structured questionnaire. In total, 423 individuals have been selected for this study however, actual men participated in were 398. The ethnic breakdown of respondents is demonstrates that maximum (98%) of the respondents were Hindu. Study participants reported numerous different types of occupations. The data estimate that the true prevalence of smoking among men aged 15yrs and older in Nagpur city is 13.8%. The major risk of smoking was reported in the age group 20-24 years and lower rate of prevalence occur above 30 years of age.
