The medicinal plants are valuable for the management of range of ailments to man and also animals. The number veterinary therapeutic plants are found in Washim district of Maharashtra. The diversity of medicinal plant in and around the study region is rich, and the ethnic inhabitants as well as other using veterinary plants parts for the treatment of various disorders in domesticated animals. The Washim district is region of Amravati division in Maharashtra state. The account focused ethno-veterinary information on 20 medicinal plant species belonging to 16 families, documented using local practitioners. The information is accessible through evaluation, meeting, group discussion and field work while numerous field visits. The highest (3) plant species were using from Euphorbiaceae and Liliaceae family of the entire region by village residents. It accounted that majority of herbs species are more (35%) utilizing as compared to tree (30 %), shrubs (25 %) and climber (10%). The concerned systematic names along with their common name, family, element used and specific disorders cured by remedial plants of the study area have been documented. Evaluation indicated that leaves, root/tuber, seed, pod/fruits, whole plant, bark, flowers, rhizome and bulb for food supplement/use as a phytotherapy. Out of 21 overall ailment, preliminary documented from whole Washim district region with indigestions, diarrhea, dysentery, cough, fever and various infections etc were the widespread incidence. As in Indian farming, livestock is plying key role in the agricultural subsistence, hence preservation and cultivation of medicinal plant is crucial for sustaining ethno-veterinary therapeutic and cultural reserve of mankind.

In the present investigation the density of cestode parasites Lytocestus, Circumoncobothrium, Senga and Gangesia sp. from freshwater fishes Clarias batrachus, Mastacembelus armatus,Channa gachua and Wallago attu during February 2015 to January 2017 from Ujani resevoir, Maharashtra state, India was studied. Fish all over the world suffer from varieties of parasitic diseases that cause mortality in fish either directly or indirectly (Lerssutthi chawal, 1999). Especially, the cestode parasites of fish which live in the alimentary canal damage the lining wall of the gut and some other organs such as liver and bile duct. Therefore, considering the adverse effect of parasitic contamination on fish health, the present study was planned to collect the data on seasonal variations.

The Relative gut length (RGL) and Gastro-somatic index (Ga.SI) of fresh water fishes viz. Mystus armatus, Cyprinus carpio, Hypothalamichthys molitrix, and Cirrihinius mrigala collected from Pravaranagar, Kaigaon Toka Maharashtra for the period of 6 month. It was observed that the relation between the total length of body and length of the alimentary canal changes according to the feeding habits of fishes. The feeding habits in Mystus armatus shows that eury-omnivores feeding habits, it was also observed feeding habitat may differ in juvenile and adult according to RLG values. Cirrhinius mrigala shows complete herbivores as the length of the alimentary canal increases as total length of body. Cyprinus carpio shows great fluctuations in feeding and found to be detritivores and herbivores feeding habits while in Hypophthalimichthys molitrix shows carni-herbivores feeding habits, fish also have strong gill rakers which are used for filter feeding. Feeding intensity was also analyzed of these fishes which depicted inverse relation between feeding with breeding, availability of food, habitat.

Water is elixir on earth, making it alive. Generally, water has no shape but it occupies the shape of container in which it is stored. During research work two spots were selected for water quality assessment and thirteen different physico-chemical parameters were analysed. The first spot is Khadki and second one is Nalganga Reservoir in 2011 to2013. Nalganga reservoir is the second largest reservoir in Buldana district, M.S.

Soil parameter of the present sites was also evaluated because the effluent not only affects the water but also it can also impact on soil quality. Some of the general soil parameters are also examined. The water holding capacities (WHC) of the both the sites are calculated seasonally and it is found that the maximum values in winter and rainy season and minimum in summer.
