This study aims to evaluate the impact of dietary cholesterol and fatty acids on blood lipid levels and investigate the effect of low-dose pesticide exposure in combination with saturated fat on blood lipid levels. The study utilizes male Balb/c mice divided into five treatment groups: control, fat, cholesterol, low-dose pesticide (DDVP), and DDVP combined with fat. The animals were subjected to oral administration of the respective treatments for 14 days. Various parameters, including body weight, organ body weight index, hematological parameters, and lipid profiles (total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL, and LDL), were evaluated at the end of the exposure period.

Background: Stroke is the fourth-leading cause of death worldwide. Dysphagia in stroke occurs about 51% of the time worldwide. Dysphagia is caused by delayed triggering of the swallowing reflex, reduced pharyngeal peristalsis, and a reduced lingual reflex. There are different treatment approaches for treating dysphagia, such as Rehabilitation Swallowing Therapy (RST), Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), and NMES, RST includes postural adjustment, supraglottic swallowing, the Mendelsohn maneuver, and effortful swallowing. TENS is applied to cause muscle contraction and stimulate sensory pathways. Method: In the present study, 30 patients were taken at random and placed in two groups, group A (n = 15) RST and group B (n = 15) TENS, respectively. Outcome measures used were MMSE, FIM, STREAM, and FOIS. Result: In the present study, RST was statistically more effective than TENS, as demonstrated with unpaired t tests: MMSE (p = 0.0115), FIM (p = 0.929), STREAM (p = 0.5775), and FOIS (p = 0.068). When comparison was done within the group, all outcome measures showed non-significant values pre- and post intervention. MMSE (p = 0.0005 in groups A and B), FIM (p = 0.0273 in groups A and B), STREAM (p = 0.0005 in groups A and B), and FOIS (p = 0.0001 in groups A and B). Conclusion: RST showed more effect than TENS in post-stroke dysphagic patients

Abstract: To get good drinking water is one of the basic rights of the every citizen of India. Providing clean drinking water is an obligation of the government has towards the citizens. The only option is to divert surface water to the arid regions. Most of rivers have their origin in the Western Ghats and flow towards the west and then join the Arabian Sea. Currently the ambitious project of the government is the Yettinahole diversion which is under implementation. There are several environmental movements and protests which are against these development projects from Uttara Kannada district. The government also has a well-organized set of environmental laws and a good institutional setup for environmental governance. It is against this backdrop that this study focuses on the role of Green Tribunal with special reference to the litigations against Yettinahole project.
