Worldwide, cervical cancer is the fourth most frequent cancer in women with an estimated 604 000 new cases in 2020. Of the estimated 342,000 deaths from cervical cancer in 2020, about 90% of these occur in low- and middle-income countries. Women living with HIV are 6 times more likely to develop cervical cancer compared to women without HIV, and an estimated 5% of all cervical cancer cases are attributable to HIV. Moreover, in all world regions the contribution of HIV to cervical cancer falls disproportionately on younger women. In high-income countries, programmes are in place which enables girls to be vaccinated against HPV and women to get screened regularly and treated adequately. Screening allows pre-cancerous lesions to be identified at stages when they can easily be treated. In low-and middle-income countries, there is limited access to these preventative measures and cervical cancer is often not identified until it has further advanced and symptoms develop. In addition, access to treatment of cancerous lesions (for example, cancer surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy) may be limited, resulting in a higher rate of death from cervical cancer in these countries. The high mortality rate from cervical cancer globally (age standardized rate among women: 13.3/100 000 in 2020) could be reduced by effective interventions at different stages of life.

The in vitro cultivation of mature plant shoot tip explants was used to construct an in vitro micropropagation strategy for the annual medicinally Gloriosa superba L. Shoot tips from 30-35-day-old field-grown plants were employed for in vitro micropropagation shoot tip explants culture. Surface sterilizing of shoot tips was found to be most effective after three minutes in 0.1% HgCl2 solution. For the main establishment of isolated shoot tips on MS medium supplemented with (BAP/Kn/TDZ) (0.5-3.0mg/L), IAA (0.5 mg/L) + (BAP /Kn/ TDZ) (0.5-3.0 mg/L), and (BAP/Kn/TDZ) (0.5-3.0 mg/L) for multiple shoot induction. Within four weeks of culture, multiple shoot bud proliferation was seen at IAA (0.5 mg/L) + (2.0 mg/L) TDZ from shoot explants. The number of shoots per explant varied between 2 and 6. Several shoots were under aseptic conditions removed and subcultures in the same medium to extend the shoot. For root induction, the possibly resulting were transplanted to IAA/IBA (0.0mg/L-2.0mg/L). Within two weeks of culture, rooting was seen. Rooted plantlets were successfully toughened under culture conditions before being planted in the field. The recorded plant survival percentage was 86%. The plants appeared to be in good condition, with no visible phenotypic differences. With an 87% survival rate, the plantlets (12-16 weeks old) were successfully acclimatized to soil.

Pectin is a complex polysaccharide which is found abundantly in green plants. It is extracted mainly from fruits and vegetables, notably citrus fruits. Typically citrus skin has frequently been ideal substance for pectin production owing to its high pectin substance and superior coloring property. Mostly orange, lemon and lime peel are the sources preferred of citrus pectin. It is utilized in food and pharmaceutical industries. Pectin is employed as a gelling agent in jams and jellies. This review article is about, extraction of pectin from orange peels. There are several extraction methods like microwave assisted extraction method, ultrasound assisted extraction method and enzyme assisted method. In this work acid based extraction is discussed, as it gives high yield compared to other methods. The extractions were carried out in various time and temperature combination. The extracted pectin was dried and analyzed for its composition.

Various studies on tribals give rich ethnographic details about their cultural practices, perception and behavioural aspects. Despite all these studies, very few studies are conducted on the health of tribal women especially their reproductive and Nutritional health. This paper will help policy makers to develop realistic health plans based on the felt needs of tribal women. The present paper is an attempt to examine the health and customary practices among tribals with special reference to women. Health is a function, not only of medical care but also of the overall integrated development of society i.e., cultural, economic, educational, social and political situation. Each of these aspects has deep influence on health, which in turn influences all these aspects. In order to understand the customary practices & dimensions of health, it is necessary to examine briefly the basic social, economic, cultural, religious and educational concerns and aspirations of the tribal women. This paper explores the role of tribal women in the socio-economic development of their families and how it effects their health in reciprocation.

COVID-19 is impacting provision of renal transplantation in the UK with a reduction in clinical activity. Publicly available Renal Registry and NHS Blood and Transplant reports were analysed to model the number of missed transplant opportunities, waiting list size and change in dialysis population over a six-month period starting 5 March 2020. An estimated 1,670 kidney transplant opportunities may be lost, which will lead to 6,317 active patients on the kidney-alone waiting list, compared to 4,649 based on usual activity estimates. This will result in 1,324 additional patients on dialysis who would otherwise have been transplanted. COVID19 will lead to a marked loss of transplant opportunities and a significantly larger national waiting list. The existing strain on dialysis capacity will be exacerbated as patients remain on dialysis as the only available form of renal replacement therapy. These findings will help inform policy and service specific strategy.
