 Abstract

This study examines the attitudes of school teachers in Bengaluru City towards the use of Information Technology (IT) in teaching, with a focus on how selected background variables-namely sex, type of school management and locality-influence these attitudes. A stratified random sample of 120 teachers was drawn from various schools to ensure demographic representation. To find out the Secondary School Teachers' Attitude towards IT in Teaching, Attitude Scale towards Information Technology for Teachers (ASTITT-NI) developed by Nasrin and Fatima Islahi (2012) along with The personal information of teachers collected through personal data proforma. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire that measured dimensions such as perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and actual usage of IT in classroom settings. Independent samples 't' test was applied with the help of SPSS Package and level of significance was fixed at 0.05 and 0.01 level of confidences. The analysis revealed significant differences based on sex, with female teachers generally demonstrating more positive attitudes toward IT integration compared to their male counterparts. The type of school management-government, private aided and private unaided-also significantly affected attitudes. Teachers from private unaided schools showed the highest levels of IT adoption and favorable attitudes, followed by those in aided and government schools. This trend is attributed to better infrastructure, training and institutional support in private schools. Locality was another influential variable. Teachers in urban schools reported greater confidence and more frequent use of IT tools, likely due to better access to technology and greater exposure to digital advancements. In contrast, teachers from semi-urban and rural areas reported less favorable attitudes, citing limited infrastructure and insufficient professional development opportunities as key barriers. The findings highlight the urgent need for targeted interventions to address disparities in IT usage among teachers. Efforts such as equitable distribution of resources, ongoing professional training and robust support systems-especially in government and rural schools-are essential to fostering positive attitudes towards IT and enhancing teaching effectiveness in the digital era.

 Abstract

The growth of India's e-pharmacy sector has transformed consumer access to healthcare products, yet adoption patterns vary across demographics. This study examines the influence of demographic variables--age, gender, education, occupation, marital status, income, and city of residence--on consumer attitudes toward online pharmacies in Gujarat's four major cities: Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot. A structured questionnaire was administered to 1,480 respondents, yielding 1,443 valid responses analyzed using ANOVA and t-tests to identify significant variations in attitudes. Results indicate that city, age, marital status, education, occupation, and income significantly shape consumer attitudes, while gender does not have a statistically significant effect. The findings reveal that younger, educated, and working-age consumers demonstrate stronger acceptance of e-pharmacy services, with students, service professionals, and housewives emerging as major user segments. Middle- and lower-income groups exhibit high adoption, highlighting affordability as a key driver. The study underscores the increasing role of digital healthcare platforms in urban India, emphasizing the need for targeted strategies to improve trust, accessibility, and regulatory oversight. These insights can help policymakers and e-pharmacy providers design customer-centric initiatives to expand market penetration and bridge healthcare accessibility gaps.

 Abstract

Celastrus paniculatus, also referred to as the "Intellect Tree," is a medicinal plant that has long been utilised in Ayurvedic medicine. Alkaloids, flavonoids, and sesquiterpenes found in its seeds and oil give it nootropic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Research indicates that it may enhance mental clarity, memory, and learning, which makes it a possible treatment option for neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's. It also has antidepressant, anticonvulsant, and anxiolytic properties. C. paniculatus continues to get attention for its potential as a treatment for neurological and psychiatric disorders because of its wide pharmacological profile.

Aphra Behn's The Rover, or The Banished Cavaliers (1677) is a seminal work of Restoration comedy that intricately weaves the themes of love, power, and deception. Set against the vibrant and chaotic backdrop of Carnival in Naples, the play explores the dynamics of romantic pursuits, gendered power struggles, and the manipulative strategies employed by characters to achieve their desires. This article examines how Behn uses these themes to critique patriarchal structures, challenge societal norms, and highlight the complexities of human relationships in the context of Restoration England. Through a detailed analysis of key characters--Hellena, Willmore, and Angellica--and the socio-cultural setting, the study argues that Behn's play is both a celebration of libertine ideals and a subversive commentary on the constraints imposed on women. By blending humor with sharp social critique, Behn crafts a narrative that reveals the fluidity of power and the pervasive role of deception in shaping romantic and social interactions.

 Abstract

Background: Tobacco is a leading preventable cause of death, killing nearly six million people worldwide each year. Reversing this entirely preventable manmade epidemic should be our top priority. Aims: This study aims to access knowledge, attitude, and awareness about Tobacco cessation in the Young Adult Population. Settings and Design: This research design is a Cross-Sectional Study, Qualitative and quantitative to evaluate tobacco cessation in the young adult (17-45 years) population in the urban area of Okhla, South East Delhi, New Delhi. Need of The Study: In this study, a novel approach to Tobacco cessation is considered, in that, emphasis is laid on the importance of knowledge, attitude and awareness towards tobacco cessation and reasons of the failure to quit tobacco. Methods and Materials: This is a cross-sectional study; Data was collected using a semi-structured questionnaire. Randomly selected 400 young adults were interviewed, data analysis was done using SPSS Statistical Software Packages for Social Sciences Software and the result was formulated by applying descriptive frequencies for categorical variables, Chi-square test, and Fisher's exact test. Results: The results indicate that the young adult population is age, gender, marital status, income group, and family size a factor that does not determine whether a person is a consumer of tobacco or not in whichever way. Whereas educational qualification does as a factor responsible for the level of knowledge about the harmful effect of tobacco and the number of quit attempts. Conclusions: This study determines that 100% of the population is not aware of the adverse effect of tobacco usage and it also interferes that there is a large number of the population trying to quit tobacco and many of them failed to do it because of the one or the other reasons, suggesting that there is a need to develop government facilitated programs for tobacco cessation.

 Abstract

In present paper, we reported about the metal complexes of novel Ligand containing thiosemicarbazide namely, 2-(1-(6-Chloro-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl) propan-2-ylidene) hydrazine carbothioamide (CBITS). All the synthesised ligand and all metal complexes were characterized by analytical and spectroscopic data. They are also screened for Antimicrobial Activity.

 Abstract

Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) is rapidly gaining attention as a high-performance composite material with promising applications in sustainable construction. Composed of a cementitious matrix reinforced with alkali-resistant glass Fibers, GFRC significantly improves mechanical properties such as tensile strength, flexural capacity, and impact resistance effectively overcoming many of the limitations of traditional concrete. This paper highlights the diverse applications of GFRC in transportation-related structures, including bridges, pavements, tunnel linings, and sound barriers. Its enhanced durability under dynamic and harsh environmental conditions such as freeze-thaw cycles, chloride penetration, and chemical exposure makes it a reliable solution for long-term infrastructure needs. Furthermore, GFRC's lightweight characteristics contribute to reduced structural loads, simplify handling and installation, and ultimately shorten construction timelines while lowering overall costs. From a sustainability standpoint, GFRC aligns with green infrastructure objectives by enabling longer service life and decreasing maintenance requirements. Its compatibility with recycled materials further supports eco-friendly construction practices. These attributes make GFRC an ideal material for creating resilient and sustainable transportation systems capable of withstanding evolving environmental and operational demands. The study emphasizes the need for broader implementation of GFRC in sustainable construction, supported by the development of updated engineering standards and innovative design methodologies. With its unique combination of strength, durability, lightweight nature, and sustainability, GFRC represents a forward-looking solution for the construction and modernization of transportation networks. As the demand for resilient and environmentally conscious infrastructure grows, GFRC is poised to play a critical role in shaping the future of transportation development. Conclusions On adding GFRC in percentage (0.5, 1, 2, 3)%, by weight of cement the results are below (7&28 days Strength) Compressive Strength Increases with the increase in GFRC in percentage (0.5-3)% and higher at 1%. Split tensile Strength Increases with the increase in GFRC in percentage (0.5-3)% and higher at 1%. Flexural Strength Increases with the increase in GFRC in percentage (0.5-3)% and higher at 1%. Workability decreases as increase in the glass fiber contents (0.5-3)%

 Abstract

The former Chief Justice of India, D. Y. Chandrachud, heard a public interest litigation in August, 2023. It laid emphasis on the decriminalization of the consensual teenage sexual relationships, with special reference to the introduction of the "Romeo-Juliet Law". Romeo and Juliet are the two main characters from William Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet", which is a tragic love story between two teenage lovers. Renowned amicus curiae and senior advocate, Ms. Indira Jaisingh, who has been assisting the court in the "Nipun Saxena vs Union of India", raised an urge that the statutory age of consent should be reduced from 18 to 16 years in order to prevent "the blanket criminalization of sexual activity pertaining to the adolescents".[ The Hindu, "Bring down age of consent from 18 to 16 years, Supreme Court told", Available at : https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/bring-down-age-of-consent-from-18-to-16-years-supreme-court-told/article69850501.ece (Last updated on July 24, 2025)] Also, it is pertinent to note that the Madras High Court in the year 2019 suggested that the definition of "child" under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, must be amended. The persons who are below the age of 16 years (currently being 18 years) must be brought within the ambit of the definition of "child" in order to prevent the misuse of this protective legislation and to deal with the actual rape cases rather than burdening the courts with the cases involving consensual sexual relationships. For this, the said High Court also suggested that a close-in-age exemption clause (based on the Romeo-Juliet Law) must be introduced in India which has been already introduced in many other countries since 2007.
