 Abstract

Kancha Gachibowli, a rapidly urbanizing locality in Hyderabad, India, is home to remnants of diverse ecological habitats that support a wide range of flora and fauna. However, the region faces significant biodiversity loss due to urban expansion, habitat fragmentation, pollution, and encroachment. This paper explores the current challenges in conserving biodiversity in Kancha Gachibowli, including insufficient ecological planning, limited public awareness, and lack of enforcement of environmental regulations. Despite these issues, the area presents notable opportunities for conservation through the integration of green infrastructure, community-led ecological restoration, and policy-driven biodiversity corridors. The study also outlines future directions, emphasizing the need for multidisciplinary approaches involving local governance, scientific research, and citizen participation to ensure sustainable urban development while preserving biodiversity. Strategic planning, ecological monitoring, and habitat restoration are proposed as key pillars for the long-term conservation of Kancha Gachibowli's ecological integrity.

 Abstract

This sociological study, conducted in 2025, explores the alarming rise of alcohol addiction among youth in the rural communities of Kampli taluk, Ballari district. Traditionally considered an urban problem, alcoholism has now deeply penetrated rural landscapes, specifically affecting young adults aged 18 to 26 years. The primary objective of this research is to identify the specific socio-economic and cultural factors pushing young villagers towards this destructive habit. To understand this crisis, the study adopts a descriptive research design based on primary data collection. A purposive sample of 40 respondents, including youth, parents, senior citizens, and educated individuals, was selected from four specific villages: Arlihalli, Belugoduhal, Ramasagara, and Devasamudra. The theoretical framework of Structural Functionalism is used to explain how the breakdown of traditional joint families has removed strict moral guidance. The major findings reveal that high levels of unemployment and economic frustration are the main socio-economic drivers of this addiction. In addition to poverty, strong negative peer pressure forces many young men to consume alcohol simply to gain social acceptance. The easy and illegal availability of liquor in local village shops acts as a major catalyst, allowing daily consumption without fear. The consequences of this addiction are devastating, leading to severe financial debt and a shocking increase in domestic violence within rural households. At the community level, intoxicated youth are causing a noticeable rise in street fights, public nuisance, and a loss of social harmony. The traditional authority of village elders and local panchayat rules have become completely ineffective in controlling this local liquor supply. To solve this crisis, the study strongly recommends immediate government intervention to strictly ban illegal petty liquor shops. There is also an urgent need to create local employment opportunities and establish free de-addiction centers to rehabilitate the affected youth. Ultimately, the research concludes that protecting the rural youth from alcoholism requires a combined, serious effort from families, local communities, and the government.

 Abstract

The healthcare industry in India has undergone significant transformation in recent years due to rapid technological advancement, increasing patient awareness, rising healthcare expectations, and intense competition among hospitals. In this competitive healthcare environment, multispecialty hospitals are increasingly focusing on developing strong brand equity to attract, retain, and satisfy patients. Brand equity has become an important strategic asset for hospitals because it influences patient perceptions, trust, satisfaction, revisit intention, and long-term loyalty. The study mainly focuses on understanding how service quality, patient trust, hospital image, and brand associations contribute towards the development of healthcare brand equity and how brand equity subsequently influences patient satisfaction, revisit intention, and patient loyalty.

 Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important part of higher education, and ChatGPT is one of the most widely used AI tools for learning and research. This study examines the awareness and academic use of ChatGPT among Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Research Scholar students of Dravidian University, Kuppam. A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 581 respondents, and the data were analysed using simple percentages and frequency distribution. The findings reveal that almost all students were aware of ChatGPT and regularly used it for answering academic queries, writing assignments, research, and improving language skills. Most respondents considered ChatGPT a useful academic tool, while many also expressed concerns about the accuracy of information, plagiarism, over-dependence on AI, and its impact on critical thinking. The study also found strong support for integrating ChatGPT into university learning through library services, training programmes, and AI literacy initiatives. The study concludes that ChatGPT has become a valuable academic support tool, but its effective use requires proper guidance, ethical practices, and information literacy training.

 Abstract

The Orange Economy is a topic that doesn't get enough attention in regional development studies. However, it has great promise in Assam, a culturally rich state in Northeast India. In this paper, the focus will be on the role of cultural industries including handloom industry, folk art, literature and performing art to the economic growth of Assam. The paper establishes how there are new opportunities in the creative sectors in the state through a multidisciplinary approach that is a cross between cultural theory and economic analysis and explores the structural challenges such as the lack of infrastructure, the digital divide, and policy deficit. The research would help humanize development by speaking about the community based creative practices, local entrepreneurship and promote a more representable and sustainable creative economy. The results show that despite cultural economy of Assam remaining informal and fragmented, it could be elevated to be a formidable centre of regional development, with support of targeted investment and decentralised policy system. This is not merely a work that attempts to analyse data, but express the voice of people defining the creative future of the region.

 Abstract

When one buys a product the first thing one checks is the price tag - is it within my budget? Very rarely do we bother to check other things like durability, expiry date etc. This is where consumer awareness begins. The expansion of service sector like insurance, banking, electricity, medical services in rural areas has added to the problem. Spurious drugs are causing major health hazards to the vulnerable sections who are mainly women, children and farmers. Hence, there is a need to study the awareness of consumer protection movement in rural Karnataka. The aim of this research paper is to investigate the awareness towards rights among rural consumer, redressing grievances process, responsibilities and consumer protection campaigns in rural area. The data were collected from 120 valid responses. The outcome shows that the respondents are more aware of checking the MRP (Maximum Retail Price) before buying a product and always purchase a commodity having the trademarks and logos authentication marks such as ISI, AGMARK, BIS. They believe in relief available to the victim through redressing grievances process. The study also reveals that Jago Grahak Jago has today become a household maxim by educating rural consumers on various issues related to consumer rights. Consumer awareness is not always about rights, but also about responsibilities and shouldering them honestly and sincerely. In this study, the sample respondents have higher level perceptions towards all the statements on responsibilities by assigning the mean value of more than 3. But, there is lower level perceptions were evidenced among the sample respondents towards their awareness on redressing grievances process which shows a long road ahead to ensure effective consumer justice.
