The paper aims to critically examine the legal and ethical aspects surrounding the prohibition of preconception and prenatal diagnostic techniques in India. The Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, enacted in 1994, was designed to curb female feticide and ensure the well-being of the mother and the unborn child. However, this Act has been both praised for its intentions and criticized for its implementation, effectiveness, and unintended consequences. The article delves into the historical context, legislative framework, challenges, ethical dilemmas, and potential future directions related to the PCPNDT Act in India.

Urbanization necessitates integrating land use and infrastructure planning for efficient, sustainable development. Traditionally approached separately, joint planning coordinates urban growth, promoting livability, resilience, and equity. Case studies showcase successful integration models facilitating economic and social benefits. However, fragmentation across agencies and governments with distinct objectives hinders progress. Further challenges include conflicting stakeholder interests, data limitations, and institutional constraints. Nevertheless, opportunities exist to improve outcomes through cross-agency collaboration, participatory processes engaging communities in decisions, and shared data systems. With strategies addressing barriers and capitalizing on synergies, integrated planning optimizes land use and infrastructure. Though achieving coordination poses challenges, the rewards are more holistic, coherent planning benefiting all. This paper reviews the rationale, benefits, hurdles, and solutions for integrated land use and infrastructure planning essential for thriving, sustainable urban communities. It argues that while difficult, integrating these interlinked elements creates long-term value. By understanding impediments and adopting proven, context-sensitive strategies, practitioners can navigate complexities for the greater communal good

ABSTRACT In India the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) produce a diverse range of products with the very simple products produced by household enterprises at one end of the spectrum and highly advanced ones at the other end. With globalization and changes in communication technologies, new challenges and opportunities have arisen for MSMEs. The concept and techniques of marketing have also been continuously undergoing a change with the rapid changes in technology and consumer preferences. Marketing, a strategic tool for business development, is critical for the growth and survival. MSMEs are complementary to large industries as ancillary units contribute enormously to the socio-economic development of the country. Globally fast changing economic scenario has thrown up various opportunities and challenges to the MSMEs in India many opportunities are opened up for this sector to enhance productivity and look for new markets at national and international level, and it has also put an obligation to upgrade their competencies to meet the competition as new products are launched at an astonishing pace and are available worldwide in short time. Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises do not have any strategic tools for their business/ market development as available with large industries. Presently in the competitive age, marketing is one of the weakest areas wherein MSMEs face major problems.

Ichthyosis refers to a group of disorders characterized by persistent noninflammatory scaling. Dermatophytosis, on the other hand, is a common fungal infection of the skin. While both conditions are frequently encountered in clinical practice, the association between ichthyosis and dermatophytosis is rarely reported. This case report presents a patient with tinea infection who exhibited ichthyosis-like skin changes.

The intricate interplay between the home environment and child development is paramount in shaping a child's cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth. This study delves into this multifaceted relationship, investigating how diverse elements of the home environment, including parental behaviours, family structure, socioeconomic status, resource access, and overall household atmosphere, collectively influence a child's developmental journey. Specifically, the study examines the impact of these factors on secondary school student's academic progress and holistic well-being. The research objectives encompassed two key facets: firstly, to explore potential variations in the home environment across variables such as gender and locality (urban/rural) among secondary school students; and secondly, to analyse the correlation between the home environment and academic achievement within this student cohort. Methodologically, the study employed a comprehensive Survey Method to collect data from a representative sample of 310 secondary school students hailing from the East Godavari district. A meticulously designed questionnaire featuring 91 items assessed eight distinct dimensions: educational support, cognitive stimulation, socioeconomic factors, parental expectations, emotional support, study habits, time management, nutrition and health, and access to technology and learning resources. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was established with a high Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.941, affirming the reliability of the data. Findings from the study refute any notable gender-based or urban-rural disparities in academic progress and the home environment. Moreover, a robust and affirmative correlation was unveiled between academic progress and the quality of the home environment among secondary school students. These results underscore the pivotal role of the home environment in nurturing emotional well-being, cognitive growth, and physical health - essential components contributing to students' academic success and personal development.
