 Abstract

INTRODUCTION: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is preventable and treatable disease characterised by persistent respiratory symptoms and airflow limitation that is due to airway and/or alveolar abnormalities usually caused by significant exposure to noxious gases and particles. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of pursed lip breathing vs positional relaxation along with pursed lip breathing on shortness of breath and respiratory rate in patients with acute exacerbative COPD. MATERIALS AND METHODOLOGY: In this study patients included both male and female between the age group 50 and greater than 50 years were recruited for the study. Total 36 patients were selected and were divided among two groups. Pursed lip breathing was given to one group and forward trunk lean position along with pursed lip breathing were given to another group. Pre and post measurements of of shortness of breath and respiratory rate were taken. The collected data was statistically analysed for finding. RESULT: The result of the study showed that both Pursed lip breathing and positional relaxation along with Pursed lip breathing are statistically significant in reducing shortness of breath and respiratory rate in acute exacerbative COPD patients. But Positional Relaxation along with pursed lip breathing showed more significant results than Pursed lip breathing exercise. CONCLUSION: Based on study results it can be concluded that positional relaxation along with pursed lip breathing was found to be more effective than Pursed lip breathing exercise in reducing shortness of breath and respiratory rate in acute exacerbative COPD patients.

 Abstract

Mitochondria, the energy-producing organelles in cells, have their own maternally inherited DNA, and mutations in this mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) can lead to severe genetic disorders. Mitochondrial Replacement Therapy (MRT), an advanced form of in vitro fertilization (IVF), offers a way to prevent the transmission of these mutations. Techniques like spindle transfer (ST), pronuclear transfer (PNT), and polar body transfer (PBT) involve replacing the nucleus of a mother's egg containing faulty mitochondria with that from a donor egg containing healthy mitochondria. These methods can be applied either before or after fertilization. One such method, ooplasmic spindle transfer (OST), pioneered by Dr. John Zhang, led to the birth of the first healthy baby using this technique. The UK and Australia have established clear regulatory frameworks for MRT, while countries like India are still navigating the cultural and ethical implications. Despite rapid technological growth, societal resistance in India poses challenges to adopting such reproductive innovations. This article focuses on the potential of MRT in India, its techniques, ethical concerns, and global experiences in implementing this promising therapy.

 Abstract

Abstract: : A simple, precise, and accurate stability- indicating rear phase high- performance liquid chromatographic( RP- HPLC) system was developed and validated to graphy for the contemporaneous estimation of Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide in bulk and combined lozenge form. The chromatographic separation was achieved using a C18 column with a suitable mobile phase composed of( insert exact composition, e.g., acetonitrilebuffer( pH 3.0) in a defined rate), at a inflow rate of( insert inflow rate) mL/ min and discovery wavelength at( insert discovery wavelength, e.g., 220 nm). The system was validated as per ICH guidelines for parameters including linearity, delicacy, perfection, particularity, limit of discovery( LOD), and limit of quantification( LOQ). Forced declination studies were conducted under colorful stress conditions like acid, base, oxidation, thermal, and photolytic to establish the stability- indicating nature of the system. Both medicines were well resolved with satisfactory retention times, and no hindrance from declination products was observed. The developed RP- HPLC system proved to be dependable, robust, and suitable for routine quality control analysis of Captopril and Hydrochlorothiazide in both bulk medicine and pharmaceutical phrasings.

 Abstract

The demographic profile of the most nations points to an increase in the population of the elderly. The nutrient requirement of the elderly and the concern for the health and nutrition of the elderly are far different from any other population group. So the investigator felt a need to conduct the study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching Programme on knowledge of significant family member regarding special nutritional needs of the elderly. The objective of the study: To assess the knowledge of the significant family member on special nutritional needs of elderly. To evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching Programme on knowledge of the significant family member regarding special nutritional needs of the elderly. To associate the pretest knowledge with selected demographic variables. Methods: Pre-Experimental design with one group pretest and posttests design was adopted. 60 samples were selected by using non-probability purposive sampling technique. A structured questionnaire schedule was prepared and used to collect the data and to assess the level of the knowledge of the significant family member regarding special nutritional needs of the elderly. The tool consisted of demographic data and 30-structured knowledge questionnaire. The content validity was obtained from experts and the reliability was obtained by test re test method. Feasibility of the study was confirmed by pilot study. The data obtained was analyzed and interpreted in terms of the objectives and hypothesis of the study. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for data analysis. Results: The present study found that in pre-test, out of 60 subjects' majority of them 58(96.7%) had inadequate knowledge, 2 (3.3%) of them had moderate knowledge and none of them had adequate knowledge and in post-test, majority of them 37(61.7%) had adequate knowledge, 23(38.3%) had moderate knowledge and none of them had inadequate knowledge. There is statistically significant association found between two demographic variables and the pre-test level of knowledge of the significant family member of the elderly on nutritional needs of the elderly. The variable age showed significance at P <0.05 level, and the variable education showed significance at P<0.05.Interpretation&Conclusion: Analysis of data shows that 61.7% had adequate knowledge,38.3% had moderate knowledge and 0% had inadequate knowledge.

 Abstract

Upon examining all facets, including the laws and policies established by the government for individuals under the age of 18 or those who have not yet reached the age of majority, it is indeed feasible to rehabilitate them. Children who are accused of offenses can certainly be reintegrated into society. As established by law, individuals under 18 years of age are classified as minors, indicating that they have not yet attained the level of maturity necessary to distinguish between good and bad, as well as right and wrong. This indicates that they lack a sufficient understanding that would enable them to comprehend not only the legal implications but also the ethical considerations. Overall, they do not possess the knowledge required to lead a peaceful, virtuous, and religious life, which is essential for fostering good faith and developing the understanding necessary for a meaningful existence.

 Abstract

Growth in online education has made knowledge more widely available, but with that comes a navigation and summarizing challenge. This research hence proposes a system implementing web data extraction blended with generative AI for the automated extraction and summarization of educational material from institutional websites. Using BeautifulSoup for text extraction and the Gemini AI API for abstractive summarization, given a target URL, the system returns a very brief summary of the web content in an educational context. It has a modular architecture consisting of three components: data extraction, summarization, and a user interface implemented in Flask. Performance evaluation on 100 educational web pages shows steady extraction with an F1-score of 0.80 and a summarization quality that outperforms general-purpose tools. A user study with 150 participants reports a high satisfaction rate, thereby improving accessibility for students, educators, and researchers through a scalable and inclusive solution.
