Pneumonia remains a significant global health challenge, with chest X-rays serving as a critical diagnostic tool. However, accurate and timely diagnosis often requires expert radiologists, who may not be readily available in all settings. Pneumonia is most prevalent in underdeveloped and developing countries, where factors such as overpopulation, air pollution, and unhygienic environmental conditions exacerbate the spread and severity of the disease, while medical resources remain scarce. Therefore, early diagnosis and effective management can play a pivotal role in preventing the disease from becoming fatal. This paper surveys the effectiveness of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), particularly ResNet-50 and VGG-16, in automating the detection of pneumonia from chest X-ray images. We evaluate the integration of these pre-trained models with various techniques such as data augmentation, preprocessing, and transfer learning, and discuss how these methods enhance the classification performance. The proposed models, when combined with optimized classifiers such as Support Vector Machines (SVM), achieve high diagnostic accuracy, offering a promising and scalable solution for timely disease detection, particularly in remote, underserved, or resource-limited areas.

Acinetobacter baumannii represents a significant nosocomial pathogen with increasing clinical importance due to its environmental persistence and potential for rapid resistance development, and whilst current antimicrobial research predominantly focuses on multidrug-resistant strains, there is a critical need for proactive development of novel antimicrobial agents before resistance emerges. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs) have demonstrated promising antimicrobial properties against various pathogens through unique mechanisms, including reactive oxygen species generation and membrane disruption; however, no comprehensive studies have evaluated the direct antibacterial activity of GQDs specifically against A. baumannii. The synthesised GQDs exhibited excellent physicochemical properties with spherical morphology and appropriate size distribution, confirmed through comprehensive characterisation using UV spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, and FESEM analyses. GQDs demonstrated significant antibacterial activity against A. baumannii with dose-dependent zone inhibition diameters ranging from 12-24 mm at concentrations of 25-100 ?g/mL when tested using standardised disc diffusion assays with aminoglycosides as positive control and nuclease-free water as negative control. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined to be 45 ?g/mL through broth microdilution in 96-well plates with two-fold serial dilutions, whilst the minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) was established at 65 ?g/mL. This study represents the first comprehensive evaluation of GQDs against A. baumannii, demonstrating potent direct antibacterial activity and offering a promising novel antimicrobial platform with significant potential for clinical translation in managing A. baumannii infections in healthcare settings. The findings contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting GQDs as effective antimicrobial agents and establish a foundation for future research exploring their therapeutic applications against this important nosocomial pathogen.

Abstract The Rohini festival in Purulia, West Bengal, marks the ceremonial onset of Aman paddy cultivation, a monsoon-dependent rice crop critical to the region's agrarian economy. This study examines the festival's cultural, ecological, and socioeconomic dimensions, emphasizing its role in fostering community resilience, traditional ecological knowledge (TEK), and sustainable agricultural practices. Through ethnographic insights, historical analysis, and ecological perspectives, the article argues that Rohini embodies a synthesis of cultural heritage and agrarian sustainability. It highlights how rituals, gender roles, indigenous practices, and the celestial significance of Rohini Nakshatram shape rural livelihoods while addressing modern challenges such as climate change and rural migration. This work underscores the festival's relevance for sustainable development and cultural preservation in agrarian societies.

Language serves as the primary medium of human communication, inherently reflecting shifts in social structures and cultural dynamics. The advent of the Internet, as a manifestation of scientific and technological advancement, has given rise to a distinctive linguistic phenomenon--Internet language--whose influence is particularly pronounced in the development and transformation of vocabulary. As digital communication becomes increasingly embedded in everyday life, the boundaries between formal and informal language use are continuously reshaped. This paper explores the evolving trajectory of Chinese vocabulary through the lens of Internet language, examining how online discourse not only introduces new lexical items but also reshapes existing linguistic norms and expressions.

On July 1, 2017, India implemented the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which marked a significant shift in the country's taxation system. GST was intended to replace a fragmented and confusing tax structure, creating a single national market, increasing tax compliance, and stimulating economic growth. This paper examines the impact of GST on India's economic growth, looking at its prospects, problems, and possible future choices. The study investigates the positive effects of GST, such as increased tax collection, reduced tax evasion, and improved trade efficiency through the removal of interstate obstacles. It also addresses the significance of GST in encouraging economic formalization and boosting business convenience, hence it's making India a more appealing investment choice. However, the paper identifies several barriers in fully realizing GST's potential, including the complexity of the multi-slab tax structure, the increased compliance burden on small businesses, technological issues in the GST network, and regional disparities in implementation. Furthermore, the paper discusses the adverse effect on specific industries, particularly SMEs, who confront difficulties in adapting to the new system. The research continues by suggesting future possibilities for improving GST efficacy, such as streamlining tax slabs, upgrading digital infrastructure, and giving sector-specific help. By resolving these concerns, India can maximize the benefits of GST while promoting long-term inclusive economic growth.

The immigration is a problem of worldwide. No country is free from the immigration. As such, Assam is not left as a free state from illegal immigration. Assam is a naturally rich state located in North-Eastern India. The state has been suffered with the large number of immigration from the neighboring countries since the period of British. Since 1971, the huge large number of illegal immigration from Bangladesh influx into the state has flooded the population of Assam. Thus, it has deep negative impacts on the social, political, economic and security of Assam, and become a very much concerned issue of Assam. It is also created a big challenge in the mind of indigenous people in the arena of social, political and economy. Therefore, in this paper an attempt is being made to understand the negative impact of large number of illegal immigration in the society of Assam.
