 Abstract

Aspergillus niger fungus is one of the most widespread species of the genus Aspergillus. This fungus includes a set of fungi that are usually considered asexual, although perfect forms that reproduce sexually have been found. Because of its cosmopolitan nature, human beings get commonly exposed to spores and vegetative forms of A. niger present in the air, on foodstuffs and others stored consumables products and suffers with many allergic problems. This fungus also causes disease in plants, i.e. rot diseases. Pathogenic fungi are the major infectious agents in plants which causes alterations during developmental stages of life, including post-harvest The antifungal properties of horticultural crops Tithonia rotundifolia Blake and Tagetes erecta L on rot fungal pathogen Aspergillus niger are therefore aiming of present work. This is to serve as a relative alternative to the use of synthetic chemicals to decrease or eliminate loss due to rot caused by phytopathogens chiefly fungi. The conclusion of this experiment definite that plant extracts can be used as natural fungi toxicant to control the growth of pathogenic fungi (A. niger) and consequently reduce the dependence on the synthetic fungicides.

 Abstract

This study aimed to determine the perceptions of teachers to program accreditation strategies and its relation to school performance. The descriptive survey and correlational research design was used employing quantitative method. The data were gathered through the survey questionnaire and administered to the sixty (60) respondents from teaching personnel of the studied educational institution. The data gathered were analyzed through frequency, percentage, weighted mean and pearson correlation. The findings of the study revealed that instructions, library, faculty, research and community extension has something to do with the school performance. Thus, it shows that there is a significant relationship between program accreditation strategies and school performance. Thus, the null hypothesis which states that there is no significant relationship between program accreditation strategies and school performance is rejected. Given the overall results, the study recommends that faculty development plan which is formulated based on the findings of the study should be adopted by the studied educational institution.

 Abstract

Ayurveda advocates a range of promotive, preventive and curative measures. Amavata word is composed of two words Ama and Vata, the condition which is caused by accumulation of Ama and Vata and it is Madhyam roga Marga vyadhi. In Vedic kale, only Atharva Veda mentioned the Sandhi related vyadhi. In various samhita, the fragmented description of Amavata is available. But only in Madhava Nidana, separate chapter is mentioned about the etiology, clinical features, types and prognosis of Amavata. Amavata is vyadhi developed due to hetu like Vriddha Ahar result in formation of Ama (unripe Ahar rasa).Agnimandya, Aruchi, Daurbalya, Apaka are the Purvarupa are seen before the actual expression of vyadhi. The types of Amavata are described on the basis of chronicity, prognosis, and Doshanubandha. The sign and symptoms of Amavata are divided under the heading of Pratyatma Lakshana, Samanya Lakshana, Doshanubandha Lakshana, and Pravridha Amavata Lakshana. Ama is produced due to the hetu sevana and vataprakopa leads to the khavaigunya at sandhi (Shleshma sthana). Circulating Ama with excessively vitiated vata simultaneously gets accumulated in sandhis.Vata acts as avaraka and blocks srotasas.Hence Shotha and pain occurs in sandhi. Thus finally it produces Amavata. Madhavnidankar mentioned various updrava of Amavata. Ek doshaj Amavata is sadhya while sannipatika Amavata is Krucchasadhya.Ushna Ahar vihar is Pathyakara in Amavata vyadhi. Amavata has similarities to many arthritic diseases with specific clinical features associated with Rheumatoid Arthritis.

 Abstract

Mid-price movement prediction based on limit order book data and historical data is a challenging task due to the complexity and dynamics of the limit order book and historical movements of stock data. So far, there have been very limited attempts for extracting relevant features based on limit order book data. In this paper, we address this problem by designing a new set of handcrafted features and performing an extensive experimental evaluation on both liquid stocks. More specifically, we present an extensive set of econometric features that capture the statistical properties of the underlying securities for the task of mid- price prediction. The experimental evaluation consists of a head-to-head comparison with other handcrafted features from the literature and with features extracted from a long short-term memory autoencoder by means of a fully automated process. Moreover, we develop a new experimental protocol for online learning that treats the task above as a multi-objective optimization problem and predicts i) the direction of the next price movement and ii) the number of order book events that occur until the change takes place. In order to predict the mid-price movement, features are fed into seven different deep learning models based on multi-layer perceptrons, convolutional neural networks, and long short-term memory neural networks. The performance of the proposed method is then evaluated on liquid stocks. For some stocks, results suggest that the correct choice of a feature set and a model can lead to the successful prediction of how long it takes to have a stock price movement.

 Abstract

Groundwater is the primary source of water for domestic, agricultural and industrial uses in many countries. Demand for potable water in northern Ghana, especially during drought has raise in a short time. The Groundwater potential within the area of study was studied using critical hydrogeological factors such as; overburden thickness, groundwater geophysics, borehole successes, pumping rate and groundwater depth. Over reliance on rain-fed agriculture can threaten food security now and centuries to come due to the irregularities of rainfall patterns. This research targeted areas of high groundwater success rate so as to minimise the gap in the computation that may be affected as a result of the dry boreholes. Sites of high Static Water Level (SWL = 44.50-22.86 m) are likely to have shallow groundwater depth while sites of (SWL = 18.91-5.74 m) may have deeper depth. The Groundwater Storage and the Usable Storage were estimated to be approximately 514.6 x 10 BCM and 214.8 10 BCM respectively for the aquifer basement complex of the 37 boreholes. The pumping rate showed that sufficient amount of groundwater was discharged from the boreholes; hence the exploration of groundwater as an alternative water supply for irrigation and agricultural production within the Upper East Region is completely feasible.

 Abstract

This paper comprises an analytical study of double skinned corrugated columns (DSCC) of square sections filled with concrete. This analysis reveals the compressive nature of the Concrete Filled Double Skin Tube (CFDS) columns, in which their inner and outer skins were replaced with corrugated plates. A finite component modeling framework has been developed to obtain the response of CFDST columns with corrugated plates. Analyses on the specimens were done by applying axial and lateral loads. The parameters varied for columns were, slenderness ratio and grade of concrete. The specimens used to investigate the compressive and ductile behaviour of the columns. Various characteristics such as stiffness and failure mode are also discussed with the help of load- deflection curves obtained from ANSYS 16.1. The end stiffeners are provided at both ends of columns. The analyses of DSCC with and without end stiffeners were done. As DSCC with end stiffeners are performs better, another two models were developed. One is aligning corrugated plates in parallel and another one is in perpendicular to inner tubes with end stiffeners. From the analysis corrugated plates with parallel is chosen as the best model. Remaining parameter studies has been done by using this model throughout the project.

 Abstract

A religion provides a set of belief which further provide a purpose in life. In todays industrial era there is an emergence in the concept of secularism. Secularism is a concept where an entity is religion neutral. In our Indian constitution religious freedom is a fundamental right, every person has their own right to profess any religion they like. India is a place of religious diversity. The word secular can be found in the preamble which was introduced in 42nd amendment furthermore secularism is reflected in article 25 to 26 and 29 to 30 which means our Indian constitution acknowledges secularism. However, the term secularism is not expressly found in constitution. It is broadly known that India is recognised as a secular state, but however it strictly does not follow the separation between religion and state, deciding to obtrude in the realm of religion by treating religions equally. The best example is Ayodhya dispute which was filed almost 134 years ago. The primary dispute was for the land in which the Muslims demanded for the construction of Babri masjid while the Hindus demanded for the construction of Ram Mandir which dates back to 1853. This paper examines how equity of religion is applied in the case of Ayodhya dispute. The paper also contains a brief history about the origin of the Ayodhya dispute. Further it discusses the brief facts and judgement pronounced by the honourableSupreme Court. It also deals with the concept of secularism and how it relates to Ayodhya dispute. This paper provide suggestion about what amendment could have been done so that there could be enhancement in the current situation of the Ayodhya dispute.
