Resisted harness training has gained considerable attention as an effective intervention for enhancing athletic performance, improving exercise safety, and facilitating rehabilitation. Harness-based systems, including resisted sled towing, partner-resisted sprinting, body-weight-supported treadmill training (BWSTT), lower-body positive-pressure treadmills (LBPPT), and supportive strength harnesses, provide controlled resistance or body-weight support to optimize movement mechanics and reduce injury risk. This comprehensive narrative review synthesizes published evidence from 2000 to 2026 on the biomechanical, physiological, rehabilitative, and performance-related effects of resisted harness training. Relevant literature was identified from peer-reviewed studies and critically analyzed to summarize current evidence across sports performance and clinical rehabilitation. The available evidence indicates that resisted harness training effectively improves sprint acceleration, lower-limb power, gait mechanics, balance, and functional mobility while providing a safe environment for individuals with neurological disorders, musculoskeletal impairments, and mobility limitations. However, its effects on maximal sprint velocity, vertical jump performance, and long-term neuromuscular adaptations remain inconsistent. Training outcomes are influenced by factors such as harness attachment point, loading intensity, body-weight support level, and training protocol. Although harness-based interventions demonstrate substantial practical value in both athletic and rehabilitation settings, further high-quality longitudinal studies are required to establish standardized training guidelines and optimize exercise prescription. This review provides an updated synthesis of current evidence and highlights practical applications, safety considerations, research gaps, and future directions for resisted harness training.

Gold has been valuable to humans of all cultures based on historical evidence. It is one of the rarest and most valuable metals humanity uses. Moreover, gold jewellery is the most famous and sought-after product in all human civilizations. In this context, its uniqueness in India is relevant on both social and economic fronts. Conventional goldsmiths mostly use traditional methods for making gold jewellery, and this knowledge of craftsmanship gets carried from one generation to the next through family practices. When the artisans' indigenous knowledge reflects India's rich cultural heritage, their engagement in this activity contributes to the community's economic development. However, this endogenous development needs external support due to fierce competition from private players, mainly using mechanization in production. Without government assistance for these communities, the corporate sectors can significantly preserve this art and the artisans through their "Corporate Social Responsibility" activities. A case study of gold artisans of the Cuttack district of Odisha has been considered to demonstrate the picture of their sustainable development.

Kerala's Female Labor Force Participation Rate (FLFPR) lags behind what its human development achievements would indicate. This paper studies how declining fertility, increasing life expectancy, and the resulting ageing of Kerala's population have developed alongside women's involvement in paid work during the recent Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) period. Using secondary data from the PLFS, the Sample Registration System, the National Family Health Survey, and sources from the Kerala State Planning Board, the study shows a fertility rate below the replacement level that has been sustained for over three decades. Although female labour force participation has seen some recent gains, it continues to be concentrated in rural self-employment and casual work rather than regular salaried employment. This pattern stands in contrast to Kerala's well-documented "gender paradox," in which strong capability indicators exist alongside constrained economic agency for women. The paper contends that Kerala is currently forfeiting a demographic dividend--one that cannot be recovered without deliberate policy interventions aimed at channeling educated women into quality employment.

The present study was carried out to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using the aqueous extract of Tamarindus indica fruit shell through an eco-friendly green synthesis approach. The fruit shell extract was subjected to preliminary phytochemical screening and GC-MS analysis to identify the bioactive constituents responsible for nanoparticle synthesis. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized using silver nitrate solution and characterized by various analytical techniques including UV-Visible Spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, SEM, EDAX, TEM, SAED, and DLS analysis. The formation of silver nanoparticles was confirmed by the characteristic color change from pale yellow to brown and by the appearance of a surface plasmon resonance peak in the UV-visible spectrum. Phytochemical analysis confirmed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phenols, saponins, terpenoids, glycosides, quinones, and carbohydrates. GC-MS analysis revealed several bioactive compounds with medicinal significance. Characterization studies demonstrated that the synthesized nanoparticles were predominantly spherical, crystalline, and well dispersed with nanoscale dimensions. The synthesized silver nanoparticles exhibited significant antioxidant activity as determined by DPPH radical scavenging assay, hydrogen peroxide scavenging assay, and total antioxidant capacity assay. Furthermore, the nanoparticles showed excellent antibacterial activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial strains, including Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The study confirms that Tamarindus indica fruit shell, an agricultural waste material, can serve as an effective reducing and stabilizing agent for the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles with promising biomedical and environmental applications.

: Psychological stress is a pervasive determinant of health, productivity, and quality of life, and its unobtrusive, continuous assessment remains an open challenge for affective computing and digital health [1],[3],[7]. Contact-based physiological sensing (electro dermal activity, electrocardiography, and photo plethysmography) offers reliable ground truth but is intrusive, motion-sensitive, and impractical for continuous, real-world deployment [8], [9]. Thermal facial imaging has emerged as a promising non-contact alternative because sympathetic nervous system activation produces measurable, involuntary vascular and thermoregulatory changes in facial regions such as the nose, forehead, and perioral area, which can be captured passively by infrared cameras without requiring skin contact or user cooperation [18], [20], [27],[29]. In parallel, deep learning has progressively replaced handcrafted thermal feature extraction with end-to-end convolutional, recurrent, and transformer-based architectures capable of learning discriminative spatio-temporal stress signatures directly from thermal video [21], [23], [25]. However, the clinical and practical adoption of such systems is constrained by the black-box nature of deep networks, which undermines trust, auditability, and regulatory acceptance in health-adjacent applications [57],[59], [63].

Abstract: This study reported the effectiveness of behaviour modification strategies in managing hyperactive behaviour of an intellectually disabled child. About 20% of intellectually disabled individuasl are affected by ADHD. This behaviour is more common among boys than girls. In the present study the investigator applied ABAB method to modify the identified hyperactive behaviour of an eight year old intellectually disabled girl. Behavioural assessment of the subject was done by using BASIC-MR PART-B. As the reinforcer the researcher has used DRO along with physical restraint and verbal reprimand. Result showed that by using ABAB design hyperactive behaviour of an intellectually disabled subject can be modified. Further in depth studies are recommended.

Background: Negative automatic thoughts are quick and involuntary thoughts that often involve self-criticism and negative interpretations of situations. These thoughts are commonly linked to emotional distress, especially among college students who face various academic and social pressures. Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between negative automatic thoughts and emotional well-being among college students. Method: A total of 100 college students were selected using convenience sampling. Standardized questionnaires were used to measure negative automatic thoughts and emotional well-being. Mean, standard deviation, and Pearson correlation were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean score for negative automatic thoughts was 67.23(SD = 28.59), while emotional well-being had a mean score of 43.81 (SD = 13.02). The results showed a weak negative relationship between the two variables (r = -0.234). However, this relationship was not statistically significant (p > .023). This means that although higher negative thoughts were linked with lower emotional well-being, the relationship was not strong. Conclusion: The study suggests that negative automatic thoughts may be related to lower emotional well-being in college students, but the relationship is weak and not statistically significant. This indicates that other factors may also play an important role in influencing emotional well-being.
