In this world, the development of composite materials as well as the related design and manufacturing technologies is one of the most important advances in the history of materials. Composites are combination of materials having mechanical and physical properties which can be tailored to meet the requirements of a particular application. Many composites also exhibit great resistance to wear, corrosion, and greater heat dissipation capacity. These unique characteristics provide the mechanical engineer with design opportunities not possible with conventional monolithic materials. MMCs are important materials which are now used widely, not only in the aerospace industry, but also in a large and increasing number of mechanical engineering applications, such as internal combustion engines; machine components; automobile, train, and aircraft structures and mechanical components, such as brakes, drive shafts, flywheels, tanks. Zinc itself has a greater melting point so as to reduce the heat dissipation in various parts of the heat treatment processes. The reinforcements like the silicon carbide powder in preparation of Zn based MMCs gives material the greater strength, weight reduction property, greater hardness, reduction in cost, improved life of the component.

This article is a case study done to compare the impact of COVID-19 in Kerala and United States. The study proved the efficiency of Kerala, a small coastal area, located along the Southern part of India in combating the pandemic. Lack of large economy, medical facilities and proper infrastructure was not a hindrance in its pathway to emerge as the best in the field. Kerala is ranked high in dealing with the Pandemic in an effective way. This study is a meagre attempt to highlight the efficiency of Kerala Govt. in battling the pandemic.

ABSTRACT Born in a rich Gowdasaraswath Brahmin family of Tellichery, Aanantha Shenoy was the last disciple of Sree Narayana Guru. He was known for his adamant fights against the social injustices in Kerala. In August 1928 he accepted the ascetic way of life. The Guru gave him the name Anantha Theerthan. Despite encountering continuous threats from the upper class people he spared his entire life for the welfare of the lower class of people. He started the Sree Narayana School and hostel for Harijan children at Payyannur.

This paper introduces a new interleaved soft switching boost converter for photovoltaic applications. The proposed converter topology offers modularity, lower ripple for both input current and output voltage, and lower voltage and current ratings of the various circuit elements when compared to the basic boost converter. a non isolated interleaved, dc/dc boost converter with a high efficiency is proposed for using in photovoltaic system applications. The capacitor is also connected in series with output capacitors to transfer leakage energy to the output. Interleaved structure is used in input side to minimize current ripple and reduce magnetic component .The capacitor is also connected in series with output capacitors to transfer leakage energy to the output. Interleaved structure is used in input side to minimize current ripple and reduce magnetic component. Thus, renewable energy particularly solar energy is widely used. Whereas, with the rapid development of IT technologies, PV converter is facing many challenges, such as high efficiency, high power density, and low cost. This thesis is mainly about the design of an interleaved boost converter based on SiC device used for high power level PV system. A MATLAB and Simulink dynamic platform are used to simulate the transient performance of the proposed converter

Famer suicides are on the rise due to failed crops and over 70% of Indias population depends on farming for their livelihood. Since farming inherently depends on a lot of external factors, accessible and affordable insurance becomes crucial. But traditional insurance can be expensive and famers dont trust the traditional insurers due to a history of delayed or absent claims. A secure, fair and quick system that ranges from underwriting new policies to automated claims settlement will greatly increase the efficiency and increase the adoption rate due to increased trust in the system. Automating the complete process will reduce the time and cost of processing at each stage significantly. This savings in expenditure can then be utilized to provide cheaper policies and greater coverage which is a big win-win for the industry.

In our daily lives, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are used for various applications due to its features like low cost, low power, and ease of implementation. The mentioned features reciprocate its wide use for tracking and monitoring applications. These networks collect the data by means of sensor nodes about physical or chemical parameters, and further, move it towards the sink for additional handling. To attain the data transfer, sensor nodes require routing protocols which provide the best efficient path to establish reliable communication in the networks. Based on the characteristics and capabilities of sensor nodes like energy, communication infrastructure and deployment of nodes, it is difficult to employ within the network. The use of routing protocols, thus, plays a vital role in compromising this difficulty. These protocols rely upon the necessities of different WSN applications. Opportunistic Routing (OR) along with the sensor nodes present in the path, performs forwarding of the data packets to obtain high throughput in unreliable links. Hence, to improve the network lifespan, the selection of an opportunistic energy-efficient routing protocol tends to be a crucial task. A study and comparison of various opportunistic routing protocols is carried out. Depending on the comparison, the algorithms which provide minimum energy consumption and maximum network lifetime are studied for future research.

Abstract: Banking is the major part of service sector in India. Quality management and quality improvement are mandatory for success of the banking sector and for our economy. Components of Quality may be visualized as Product Quality, Process Quality and Human Resource Quality. Product Quality and Process Quality can be ensured only if the banking organizations try to improve human quality. Human resource is the most precious asset of an organization. The employees have the knowledge, skills and abilities that cant be followed by the competitors. Employees well-being and their level of satisfaction and engagement has found to directly impact on service quality and ultimately organizational success. Satisfied employees tend to contribute more in terms of organizational productivity and maintaining a commitment to customer satisfaction. Employees empowerment is one of the most widely acceptable strategies to improve employees satisfaction. The study is attempts to examine and compare the anticipated relationship between employee perceptions of empowerment and employees satisfaction in public sector and private sector banks in Kerala. This study is of descriptive and in analytical nature based on the primary data collected from employees of commercial banks (public and private sector) in Kerala. A structured questionnaire has been used to collect primary data. 150 questionnaire were distributed randomly to the employees of commercial banks (public and private sector) located in Kozhikode (A district of Kerala). The results of this study revealed that employee empowerment has direct and significant impact on employees satisfaction. In addition to this, the study indicated that there is a significant difference between public sector and private sector bank in level of empowerment and level of employee satisfaction. Empowerment and employee satisfaction are higher level at private sector banks as compared with public sector banks.
