ABSTRACT Alcoholism is a global phenomenon. The consequences of alcoholism remain the same everywhere with little variation in the magnitude. In the present study, an attempt has been made to study the effect of Psychological intervention on alcohol dependents. This is a Pre and post study in which the alcohol dependents were given Psychological intervention after administration of Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test. In the present research, Psychological intervention was taken as the independent variable and Alcohol Dependents as dependent variable. Initially, 90 participants were screened on the basis of having hazardous, harmful and dependence level of drinking on Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test. Finally, 42 participants left who gave their consent to participate in the study age range 25-35 years. After that 21 each in the experimental and control group were selected randomly. Finding indicated the significant improvement on the alcohol dependence usage of the participants of the experimental group than the control group after the intervention.

Prediction of lung cancer is most challenging problem due to structure of cancer cell, where most of the cells are overlapped each other. The image processing techniques are mostly used for prediction of lung cancer and also for early detection and treatment to prevent the lung cancer. Image quality and accuracy is the core factors of this research, image quality assessment as well as improvement are depending on the enhancement stage. The summary for the prediction of lung cancer by previous researcher using image processing techniques is also presented. There are three main components: multichannel super pixel level feature extraction and fusion, kernel sparse representation, and segmentation. In this method, sparse coding and dictionary learning, both part of kernel sparse representation, are implemented in a high-dimensional feature space F with the help of the kernel trick. Fusion system passes information within each decomposition level so that the details of the source image is preserved expressing the artifacts. It is difficult to determine whether narrowing of a spinal canal. In Proposed, Qualitative analysis like Clustering and quantitative analysis like feature extraction and image quality assessment is used to segment the cancer detected portion in lung scanned images. To segment the portion, have to filter out the acquired image based upon the masking methodology. The Clustering function will be applied extracted throughout the filtered image. After filtering and contrast enhancement, image quality assessment (Mean Square Error, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio etc.) is calculated to compare other techniques. After segmenting cancer region, the patients caretaker can receive the details through E-mail as report. Finally Accuracy estimation will be done for algorithm efficient level. After result, Feature Extraction and Image quality values are plotted and the message is sent to the caretaker through GSM.

Sun dry fishes are a traditional product which are dried in various ways by different ethnic groups so their texture, test, smell varied from product to product. Dried fish has very high nutritional value and is a rich source of protein. Protein estimation was done on seven dried fish samples traditionally prepared in Deogarh district of Odisha, India. Samples were collected from various parts of that district namely Kandhal, Balam, Bahadapasi etc. The samples included the fish species like Labeo rohita, Chana punctata, Heteropneustes fossilis, Cirrhinus reba, Mastacembelus armatus, Puntius ticto and Mystus vittatus. The protein content of samples was estimated by use of different instruments like centrifugation machine, Oven, Spectrophotometer etc.

The main objective of this project is to construct a wheelchair fitted with a robotic arm and to control the same using hand gestures and also the robotic arm. This project uses a vision based scheme for gesture recognition. This project is aimed at those patients who are paralyzed at the legs and those who have weak reflexes. It enables them to move freely by navigating the wheelchair and using the same gesture pickup any object in the vicinity by controlling the robotic arm. Images taken by camera are processed in laptop and serial commands are given to the Arduino. An Arduino is used as the main processor to control both the navigation and the robotic arm. A relay circuit drives the wheelchair through signals from Arduino. The arm uses inverse kinematics to find its appropriate gripper position in 3-D co-ordinate space.

Water is a necessary nutrient and plays a crucial role within the physical body. Pure drinking water is the source of all body fluids including blood, lymph, saliva, digestive enzymes, urines, etc. So, the right monitoring of water is much important for safe, pure and hygienic water. Source of water in most households is their wells. Therefore, testing our well water quality on a day to day basis is vital for maintaining a secure and reliable source of drinking water. The test results allow us to properly define the issues of a water system. This helps us to make sure that the water source is being properly shielded from potential contamination, which appropriate treatment is chosen and operating properly. The purity of drinking water is important for each and every one all over the planet, and today this is often a well-known problem due to many water prone diseases like cholera, diarrhoea etc. But the diseases that causes hormonal imbalance, genital disorders and tooth decay cannot be recognized through mere symptoms. So, the paper aims for solving these problems. The water samples are monitored in order to obtain the contents. Those contents are then used for purity prediction using machine learning algorithms. The results are then analyzed and checked for all the diseases which will be caused by drinking that water. The individuality is to get the water monitoring system which may be used at any home for domestic purpose. It can focus various regions that are suffering from disasters like landslides and floods. Because in such areas the water content varies and drinking that water can cause diseases that can't be recognized through mere symptoms. Main aim is to decrease the amount of living beings suffering from the harmful effects of polluted water.

In present investigation, acute toxicity of the pyrethroid pesticide Bifenthrin was carried out under experimental condition to adult Oreochromis mossambicus (Peters, 1852). The 96 h LC50 with 95% confidence limits of Oreochromis mossambicus is 2.423 (1.981-2.748)g/l. None of the unexposed control fish died during the bioassay. Mortality rate of the exposed fish to the toxicant significantly (p<0.05) varied over the control at all concentrations during every 24h time interval. Significant relationship (p<0.05) was observed between mortality rate and exposure times (24, 48, 72 and 96 h) at all concentrations. Significant variation was recorded between mortality rate of fish at all the exposure doses at all the exposure times (p<0.01). The exposed fish exhibited abnormal ethological responses depending on dose of bifenthrin and duration of experiment. The opercular movement of the fish increased significantly (p<0.05) over the control with increasing concentration but decreased significantly (p<0.05) with the progress of time of exposure at all concentrations. The bifenthrin-based Marker pesticide was therefore classified as strongly toxic to fish.

Induced mutations is the best method to improve genetic variation within short time. Creation of genetic variation by induced mutations proved best for strengthening crop improvement programmes and represents a more efficient source of genetic variability than the gene pool protects by nature. In the present investigation seeds of finger millet were treated with different doses of gamma rays (GR) ranging from 200, 300 and 400Gy, varying concentration of ethyl methane sulphonate (EMS) 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4% and Sodium azide (SA) 0.02, 0.03 and 0.04%. Variations in the germination percent of seeds, seedling height, seedling injury and survival of plant at maturity of finger millet were recorded in M1 generation. The effects of the mutagenic treatments on quantitative traits resulting in reduction in traits such as percent seed germination except 200Gy (85.16%), 0.2% EMS (83.53%) and 0.02% SA (86.65%), seedling height except 200Gy (6.59cm), 0.2%EMS (6.54cm) and 0.02%SA (6.98cm) while survival of plant at maturity except 200Gy (79.26%), 0.2% EMS (78.41%) and 0.02%SA (81.54%) but increases seedling injury except 200Gy (-01.86%), 0.2% EMS (-01.08%) and 0.02%SA (-07.88%) was observed in treated M1 generated plants.
