 Abstract

Multiplication is the basic arithmetic operation. In DSP (digital signal processing) a lot of arithmetic operations require the use of multiplications. The performance of 3D computer graphics, gaming, Embedded systems, DSP etc, are particularly depends on the performance of multiplication steps. Multipliers have more area, long latency and consume high amount of power. Critical factors in the design of multipliers are chip area and speed of multiplication and require less hardware. Scaling of technology node increases power-density more than expected. This paper is focused on Multi Precision (MP) reconfigurable multiplier combined with various precision methods, parallel processing (PP), razor-based dynamic voltage scaling (DVS), and MP operands scheduling to give optimum level of performance for various operating conditions. Adapting to the run-time workload of the targeted application, razor flip-flops combine with a dithering voltage unit, because of this the multiplier is able to achieve the lowest power consumption. Use of single switch dithering voltage unit and razor flip-flops help to minimize the safety margins in voltage and overhead in DVS. The more amount of silicon area and power requirements are reduced because of reconfigurable structures. In this paper we design the multiplier in three ways and compare their performance. We can obtain the efficiency and also achieve silicon area reduction in the range of 11.1% by using AIMS 0.35 technology. Using ModelSim6.3 software we can design the multiplier structure and Xilinx synthesis Tool is used for power and area analysis.

 Abstract

In the recent years society has come across different types of natural disasters, among which the most dangerous one is flood, that causes a great threat to both human and property. The objective of this study is to develop a flood vulnerability map of Ernakulam district for the year 2020 and also to find out the most flood prone area in the district. Ernakulam is rated as one of the flood prone districts in Kerala. Greater awareness about the risks of flooding can be analyzed by the development of this map. The flood inundation map can be developed in GIS platform by processing remotely sensed data. Land use, rainfall, slope and soil are the influential factors that are considered for the development of the map. These factors are evaluated and their corresponding maps are developed in GIS. The methodology adopted here is the weighted overlay. The study can be used by disaster management authorities and town planners for future projects and flood hazard management.

 Abstract

The present review showed the Indian and international synonyms of Citrus sinensis, origin of oranges, taxonomical description, phytoconstituents, pharmacological profile, nutritive value of Citrus sinensis, commercial production and uses, nutrient composition of sweet orange, commercial importance of Citrus sinensis. Sweet orange is a small evergreen tree 7.5 m high and in some cases up to 15 m. Citrus sinensis is from Rutaceae family. Plants of Rutaceae are herbs, shrubs and trees with glandular punctate, commonly strongly smelling herbage comprising about 150 genera and 1,500 species. These are further characterized by the common occurrence of winged petioles and spines. Oranges genus is Citrus and its species is sinensis. Probably Oranges are originated from South East Asia, and were cultivated in China 2500 BC. It is scientifically proven that oranges being rich in vitamins and minerals have many health benefits. Moreover, it is appreciated that other biologically active, non-nutrient compound found in Citrus fruits such as phytochemical antioxidant, soluble and insoluble dietary fibers are known to be helpful in reducing the risk of cancers, many chronic diseases like arthritis, obesity and coronary heart diseases. In the last few years, on the industrial wastes an increased attention has been focused, especially those containing residual phenols from the used plant raw material. Orange peels are one of the important dietary sources of antioxidant phenolic. 1.5% essential oil is present in the orange fruit. D-limonene (90%), citral, sinesal, n-nonanal, n-decanal, n-dodecanal, geranyl acetate, anthranil acid, citronellal, linalyl acetate, methyl ester are present. Citrus sinensis is effective in the management of arthritis, asthma, Alzheimers disease, Parkinsons disease, macular degeneration, diabetes mellitus, gallstones, multiple sclerosis, cholera, gingivitis, optional lung function, cataracts, ulcerative colitis, crohns disease. 12.5% of the daily need for fiber is provided by a single orange. Orange (Citrus sinensis) is one of the worlds major fruit crops with global availability and popularity in human diets. The largest producer of orange juice in the world is Brazil, followed by the U.S.A., India, China and Spain. Citrus sinensis has a world production of 49.6 million metric tons for the year 2016-2017.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the crafts economy and its leading role in development of state. Handicrafts sector in Kashmir is since immemorial and how it enhanced the livelihood of people and save the economy of the state from its decline. The handicraft activities carried out in Kashmir Valley are famous throughout the world because of their fine quality, unique art and inqusitivenessin design. The Handicraft sector has proved to be a source of income and created vast employment opportunities in the state and outside the state. Craft production is a labour intensive sector, needs less capital and is eco-friendly. Therefore, the social cost of handicrafts is less compared to other small and medium scale industries. Being a labour intensive sector, handicrafts can be established both in rural and urban areas and can be taken off as a subsidiary occupation in the valley. In this paper an attempt has been made to evaluate the growth, performance and problems faced by the handicraft industries.

 Abstract

Disease Outbreak Monitoring System (DOMS) is a real-time epidemic outbreak monitoring system. It can track various disease outbreaks by collecting health status of people. An android application is used for collecting the data. A location-based representation is also provided about the outbreaks. According to the data collected from all people from different locations, it can create a relation with the dataset in the server. The dataset contains previously observed values. If a location is affected by an outbreak of a disease, the proposed application will enquire more about the detailed health status of the people in that location. If the symptoms do not match with any disease in the database, then it will be a new or a not popular disease which need to be seriously considered. If the disease is already covered in the dataset then required actions are taken according to the severity of the disease. If a person is planning a trip to a particular location, the application will provide advise according to his/her health status and the condition of the location.

 Abstract

Background: National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (Nimhans) conducted a study on the growing number of suicides in India among school and college-going students. The study revealed that about 11 percent of college students and about 7 to 8 percent of high school students have attempted suicide. The survey comprised 1,500 school and college students. In an earlier study, it was found that 20 percent of the children had subclinical depression (meaning they are almost depressed) and about 30 percent had mild to moderate depression. Here, about 800 students took part in the survey. A couple of years ago, it was reported that depression and stress were taking a toll on the students in the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). An IIT Council meet was also held in Delhi to look at the rising number of suicides among the students. Recently stress during medical training is increasingly being reported in published literature. Previous studies have shown fairly high level of distress, such as symptoms of depression and even suicide thought among medical undergraduates. The potential negative effects of emotional distress on medical students include impairment of functioning in classroom performance and clinical practices, stress include disorders and deteriorating performance. Perceived medical stress has also been linked to current mental distress and to forthcoming health problems. However, there is very little information about the effect of stress on academic performance during medical training. In addition to stress the students social emotional and physical as well as family problems may influence their learning ability and academic performance. Higher level of stress may have a negative impact on the students learning ability. Excessive stress may result in mental and physical problems and May diminished a students a sense of worth and might affect his or her academic achievement. Earlier studies have classified stressors into three main categories: Academic pressures, social issues, financial problems. Studies from developing countries like Thailand, India, Malaysia and even Pakistan have reported stress among medical students and have also underscored the role of academic as potential stressors. But these studies either did not use the perceived stress scale or did not study the correlation between stress and academic performance. Studies have reported that academic constraints and also factors like age, gender, ethnicity and marital status may also influence students severity of stress and hence academic performance. In recent years there is a growing appreciation of the stresses involved in nursing training. It is important for nursing educators to know the prevalence of psychological distress and psychological wellbeing among nursing students. The present study aimed to access perceived stress in the undergraduate students studying in a nursing college located in North India. Subjects and Methods: Setting: The study was conducted at selected colleges of the Pune city. The study sample comprised 100 nursing students who failed in the University Examination, Likert scale was used to assess the mental stress and coping strategies used by the nursing students Results: Majority 85% of nursing students had Moderate mental stress (56-88), 12.5% of them had severe mental stress score (88-120) Conclusion: It is clear from the results of this study that student nurses are exposed to moderate amount of stress. Effectively managing stress is a priority for failure student nurses. There are unique interpersonal and environmental stressors for student nurses. Stressors specific to nursing college students can be addressed by educational administrators
