The increasing demand for natural remedies and the rising concerns over the side effects of synthetic pharmaceutical products have prompted a renewed interest in herbal medicine. Colocasia esculenta, commonly known as taro, is a versatile plant that has been traditionally used in various cultures for its culinary and medicinal properties. This project explores the antimicrobial potential of Colocasia esculenta and its application in the preparation of a herbal cream aimed at treating common skin infections and promoting wound healing. Taro is rich in bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, and alkaloids, which are responsible for its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. This research project outlines the preparation of an antimicrobial herbal cream using Colocasia esculenta. The plant's active compounds were extracted through a simple yet effective method, and the resulting extract was incorporated into an cream base consisting of natural ingredients like beeswax, coconut oil, and optional essential oils for enhanced antimicrobial effects. The cream developed in this project aims to treat a range of skin conditions, including cuts, rashes, acne, and fungal infections, by leveraging the plant's inherent healing properties. The preparation process involves extracting the active compounds from the Colocasia esculenta tuber, mixing them with suitable carrier oils and emulsifiers, and then allowing the mixture to cool and solidify into a spreadable cream. This method ensures that the plant's healing properties are preserved and can be effectively applied to the skin. The cream is designed to provide a natural alternative to commercial products, offering a holistic and chemical-free solution to common dermatological issues. The antimicrobial properties of Colocasia esculenta have been demonstrated through its ability to inhibit the growth of various bacterial and fungal pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans. These pathogens are commonly associated with skin infections and can cause significant discomfort and complications if not treated effectively. The cream, therefore, offers a dual benefit: it helps prevent infections while also promoting faster healing of wounds by reducing inflammation and providing a protective barrier against harmful microorganisms. In conclusion, the development of an antimicrobial herbal cream containing Colocasia esculenta is not only an exploration of traditional healing practices but also a practical application of plant-based medicine in the modern world. The project showcases the antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and healing properties of Colocasia esculenta, demonstrating its potential as a valuable ingredient in the formulation of effective, natural skin care products. The results suggest that Colocasia esculenta can serve as an alternative to commercial antimicrobial creams, offering a safe, eco-friendly, and sustainable option for treating common skin ailments and promoting overall skin health.

The rapid urbanization and increasing vehicular traffic in Indian cities have created critical parking challenges, leading to congestion, time loss, and environmental concerns. Traditional parking systems often involve high costs and extensive infrastructure changes, making them unsuitable for rapid deployment. The research proposes the development of a camera visionbased parking management system that utilizes existing camera infrastructure to detect real-time parking slot availability. Integrated with a web-based application, the system enables users to conveniently view and book available parking spaces. That approach significantly reduces the time spent searching for parking, lowers fuel consumption, and minimizes vehicle emissions. By enhancing parking efficiency and user convenience, the system supports sustainable urban mobility.

Abstract This review critically discusses the phytochemical content and pharmacological relevance of Catharanthus roseus roots and stems, with the aim of integrating existing knowledge and pointing towards areas of research opportunity beyond their well-established oncological use. Its unique botanical features and global distribution have allowed this medicinal plant to be incorporated into various traditional curative systems, while its sophisticated alkaloid chemistry dominated by therapeutically significant compounds such as vincristine and vinblastine have been uncovered using contemporary extraction and analytical methods. The pharmacological diversity of root and stem components includes anticancer, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, cardioprotective, neuroprotective, and anti-inflammatory activity, although their high potency warrants cautious toxicological evaluation and determination of safety parameters. Notwithstanding the wealth of research, great gaps remain regarding complete metabolite characterization, mechanism of biological activities, and production methods based on sustainability. Directions for future research must emphasize advanced biotechnological methods, novel drug delivery systems, and interdisciplinary synergy to maximally unlock the therapeutic potential of these plant parts with an eye toward sustainability. The present review seeks to spur concerted research into the relatively underexplored constituents and uses of C. roseus stems and roots with a hope to derive novel therapeutic agents against diseases other than cancer and define standardized protocols for their safe and effective use.

The use of supercapacitors in solar energy systems has grown in popularity due to its capacity to improve energy storage efficiency, power stability, and meet transient energy demands. Supercapacitors are perfect for reducing power fluctuations in photovoltaic (PV) systems because they have a higher power density, faster charge-discharge times, and a longer cycle life than traditional batteries. Modeling the dynamic behavior of supercapacitors in a solar energy system with an emphasis on their charging and Discharging properties under various solar irradiance circumstances is the goal of the research. In situations when solar power generation varies owing to weather fluctuations; the study assesses the effectiveness of supercapacitors in peak power shaving, load balancing, and energy buffering. We evaluate the effects of supercapacitor integration on the system's overall efficiency, dependability, and power quality. According to simulation studies, supercapacitors efficiently minimize reliance on traditional energy storage systems, even out fluctuations in the energy supply and increase the efficiency of energy use. Additionally, its quick reaction to variations In power demand improves system stability and prolongs battery life by lowering deep drain cycles. In addition to offering insights into the best energy management techniques for sustainable power generation, this study demonstrates the promise of supercapacitors as a workable energy storage solution in renewable energy systems.

The Indian Railways, recognised as the world's fourth-largest rail network and India's most extensive mode of mass transportation, plays a pivotal role in the country's economic development, social integration, and regional connectivity. However, it also significantly contributes to environmental degradation through unchecked waste generation and excessive fossil fuel consumption. This study investigates the multifaceted efforts of Indian Railways to transition toward a more sustainable, energy-efficient, and environmentally responsible system in alignment with India's broader climate goals. Drawing from government reports, legal frameworks, operational data, and institutional initiatives, the paper explores key challenges such as the generation of nearly 670 tonnes of solid waste daily, the uncontrolled disposal of plastic and human waste along railway tracks, and the environmental hazards arising from the use of over 2.7 billion gallons of diesel annually. Despite regulatory frameworks like the Solid Waste Management Rules (2016), compliance remains inconsistent due to gaps in infrastructure, inter-departmental coordination, and public engagement. In response, Indian Railways has adopted multiple green growth initiatives including the installation of more than 2,44,000 bio-toilets across 69,000 coaches, deployment of plastic bottle crushing machines at over 370 stations, introduction of vacuum toilets, and experimentation with converting plastic waste into reusable construction materials. On the energy front, the paper documents IR's ambitious transition to renewable sources, highlighting the electrification of 58,812 km of track as of April 2023 and its growing renewable energy capacity, which currently stands at 220 MW with plans to scale up to 3,450 MW. These steps are projected to reduce transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions by up to 40%. The study further emphasizes the need for eco-smart interventions such as incentivized plastic disposal systems for passengers, AI-based waste monitoring, expanded CSR participation, and regular environmental audits. Ultimately, this research argues that Indian Railways is uniquely positioned to become a global model of sustainable public infrastructure. Its ongoing transformation reflects not only India's technological and administrative capabilities but also its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions and fostering inclusive green growth.
