 Abstract

Palmoplantar psoriasis (PP) is a type of psoriasis that develops on the palms and soles; however, the disease can be associated with many different morphologic patterns, including predominantly pustular lesions to thick scaly, hyperkeratotic plaques, or an overlapping of both of them. Psoriasis is an inflammatory, proliferative, chronic skin disease in which there are scaly papules and plaques that can involve any part of the body. Studies reveal that 2-3% of people have psoriasis, and 3-4% of those with psoriasis also have palmoplantar psoriasis. You can get palmoplantar psoriasis at any age. Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) Cw6 is the most often found genetic component linked to palmoplantar psoriasis. On the palms and soles, psoriasis can manifest as pustulosis, less well-defined plaques that resemble hyperkeratotic eczema, or typical scaly areas that can be scratched to reveal a fine silvery scale. It is crucial to distinguish palmoplantar psoriasis from other morphologically similar disorders such as hyperkeratotic eczema, dermatophytosis, and contact dermatitis, as the former may go undiagnosed. Usually unilateral, dermatophytosis is amenable to antifungal therapy. Psoriasis and hyperkeratotic eczema can occasionally be difficult to differentiate from one another. Underreported is the prevalence of palmoplantar psoriasis. In actuality, it is leading the race. Additional research is necessary to confirm the evolving situation.

 Abstract

Urbanization, the transition from rural to urban lifestyles, signifies a cyclical process pivotal to a nation's shift from agrarian to industrial societies. It entails a demographic shift, characterized by an increasing proportion of the population residing in urban areas, accompanied by structural and behavioural transformations that influence both people and places. This global phenomenon brings forth developmental opportunities alongside adverse effects, often stemming from unplanned urbanization practices. This study investigates the demographic characteristics, dynamics of the slum population, and the extent of urbanization within Jalpaiguri Municipality, an area of significant strategic importance in West Bengal as well as North East India. Despite its pivotal role, Jalpaiguri town grapples with demographic and environmental challenges exacerbated by rapid and disorganized urbanization. The study aims to elucidate the Demographic Characteristics and Slum Population Dynamics and analyze the prevalent demographic and environmental issues. Methodologically, secondary data collection and cartographic techniques, including the use of Microsoft Excel and Q-GIS software, are employed. The findings of this research endeavour not only shed light on the Demographic Characteristics but also offer insights into Slum Population Dynamics in Jalpaiguri Municipality

 Abstract

The evaluation of academic performance has been a Traditional procedure within the realm of education for an extensive period. The primary objective of education is to foster holistic development in individuals by imparting knowledge, skills, and instilling values in them. However, over time, the focus of formal education has shifted predominantly towards the academic success of students, thereby narrowing the broader objectives of education. This contemporary investigation aimed to explore the relationship between the academic accomplishments of senior secondary school students and their academic procrastination. A sample of 250 students was selected from various senior secondary schools in Aligarh district, Uttar Pradesh, utilizing a simple random sampling method. The researchers employed the Academic Procrastination Scale, developed and standardized by Bharti Bhardwaj & Dr. Gunjan Dubey (2023), as research instruments to gather data. The findings revealed a correlation between academic achievement and academic procrastination. Notably, there was no significant statistical disparity in scholastic achievement and academic procrastination concerning gender and locality among the senior secondary students. However, a significant difference was observed based on the type of school, indicating variance between government and private institutions. Furthermore, the study unveiled a significant main and interaction effect of academic procrastination on academic achievement. Additionally, academic procrastination emerged as a significant predictor of academic success among senior secondary school students.

 Abstract

Human trafficking, which takes many different forms and exploits countless people, is a terrible stain on the fabric of international society. This research paper explores the complexities of contemporary slavery, analyzing its underlying roots, systemic continuation, and the ongoing fight for human rights. Fundamentally, human trafficking is fueled by vulnerability, which is frequently caused by structural injustices. This essay examines the interconnectedness of issues that make people more vulnerable to exploitation, including poverty, gender discrimination, and a lack of educational possibilities. Examined as enablers are globalization and migration trends, which show how displaced populations and permeable borders foster conditions that support traffickers' illegal activity. Although law enforcement and legal frameworks are vital in the fight against human trafficking, there are still gaps in their efficacy. The study underlines the necessity of a more globalized and unified legal strategy that recognizes the international scope of this crime. This study emphasizes the continued need for research, education, and innovation as the battle against human trafficking develops. It demands an all-encompassing comprehension of the problem, recognizing its dynamic character and the advent of fresh difficulties. Through the promotion of an international culture that opposes the exploitation of marginalized groups, societies can create the conditions for a time when human rights are respected by all and the bonds of modern-day slavery are firmly severed.

 Abstract

This present study investigates the potential of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as an intervention for alleviating loneliness and reducing social withdrawal among individuals struggling with alcohol addiction. Loneliness and social withdrawal are prevalent issues among individuals grappling with substance use disorders, exacerbating their psychological distress and hindering their recovery process. However, limited research has explored the efficacy of mindfulness-based interventions specifically tailored for this population. A sample size of 10 alcohol addicts participated in an 8-week MBSR program, involving mindfulness meditation, body awareness exercises, and group discussions. Quantitative measures assessing loneliness and social withdrawal were administered at baseline, post-intervention, and follow-up sessions. Qualitative data regarding participants' experiences and perceptions of the program were also collected through semi-structured interviews. Preliminary findings suggest a potential reduction in loneliness and social withdrawal following the MBSR intervention. Participants reported increased self-awareness, emotional regulation, and a greater sense of connection with others. However, the small sample size and lack of a control group limit the generalizability of the results. Further research with larger sample sizes and rigorous study designs is warranted to validate the effectiveness of MBSR as a complementary approach in addressing loneliness and social withdrawal among individuals with alcohol addiction.

 Abstract

With the development of Internet, and the increase of digital multimedia communication services, satellite communication is developing rapidly. Communications via low-orbit satellites are increasingly significant. Most of the existing automatic tracking schemes drive the tracking system based on the beacon signal or forwarded pilot signal transmitted by the received satellite. The Automatic antenna positioning system primarily functions to identify the source of signal. The system can detect signals of various types, recognizing specific signals and adjusting the antenna's position to optimize signal strength reception. Whenever the receiver receives the signal with minimum strength it automatically changes its position. Next, regulate the antenna to align with the target satellite, ensuring automatic tracking of low-orbit satellites with minimal deviation and reliable stability. Compared with traditional satellite ground stations, the system achieves low-cost and miniaturized automatic tracking of low-orbit satellites.

 Abstract

Abstract The impact of COVID-19 on the share price of tourism-related companies in India has been significant. India, like many other countries, imposed lockdowns and travel restrictions to control the spread of the virus, which severely affected the tourism industry like all the other sectors of the economy. The restrictions led to a sharp drop in both domestic and international travel, causing many tourism-related companies to suffer losses. This article looks into the daily share prices of Indian Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. (ITDC) by using an event study methodology with the use of MS Excel software. The stock prices prior to and after 30 weeks from the date of the announcement of the nationwide lockdown i.e, March 24,2021 are selected for analysis. The data is collected from the NSE website. It has been discovered that the announcement of lock down as a result of the pandemic had a significant impact on the price and returns of its shares.
