Adolescence represents a critical neurodevelopmental phase marked by rapid cognitive, emotional, and social transformations. This study investigates the interaction between socio-emotional learning (SEL) competencies and neurodevelopmental conflicts among students aged 12-18 years in residential school environments. Such institutions impose structured discipline, peer immersion, and separation from familial support, creating a distinctive psychosocial ecosystem. A mixed-method design was employed involving 120 participants from residential schools. Quantitative data were obtained through standardized socio-emotional competency scales, while qualitative insights were derived from semi-structured interviews and behavioral observations.Findings indicate that early adolescents exhibit heightened emotional dysregulation, internal conflict, and dependency needs, attributed to the developmental asynchrony between limbic reactivity and prefrontal regulatory systems. However, students demonstrating stronger SEL competencies showed significantly improved adaptive behaviors, including emotional regulation, peer bonding, and academic persistence. The study underscores the mediating role of SEL in mitigating developmental conflicts within institutional settings. It advocates for the systematic integration of SEL-based interventions into residential schooling frameworks to support holistic adolescent development. Implications for educational policy, counselling practice, and future research are discussed.

Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to change, adapt, and reorganize itself by forming new neural connections throughout life. This process allows the brain to adjust in response to learning, experience, and injury. Neuroplasticity plays a vital role in memory, skill development, and recovery from brain damage such as stroke or trauma. It involves both structural and functional changes in the brain, enabling neurons to strengthen or weaken their connections over time. Understanding neuroplasticity has important applications in education, rehabilitation, and mental health, as it shows that the brain is flexible and capable of continuous growth and improvement.

The factorial experiments are of two types, symmetrical and asymmetrical. In symmetri cal factorial experiments the factors occur at the same number of levels. In asymmetrical factorial experiments all the factors are not at same number of levels. A disadvantage of balanced incomplete block designs is that not every treatment has an appropriate design. These designs typically require a significant number of replications, which may not always be convenient for the studies. As a result, efforts were undertaken to develop patterns with fewer replications, which are referred to as lattice designs. A lattice design is a kind of incomplete block experimental design that is commonly used in agricultural trials to control variability. It may be used to compare a large number of treatments or to arrange them into smaller, homogenous blocks. In this paper, a statistical analysis asymmetrical factorial experiments using lattice design with application.

Abstract The rapid transition to online education has introduced significant challenges regarding students' cognitive engagement. This study investigates the multifactorial impact of online learning environments on student concentration in Northern Bengaluru. Utilizing a mixed-methods research design, primary data was collected from 180 respondents--comprising school, undergraduate, and postgraduate students--through structured online questionnaires. The findings reveal that students generally maintain a moderate level of concentration during virtual classes. Regression analysis indicates that screen time is the most significant negative predictor of concentration (? = -0.41), leading to digital fatigue and reduced attention spans. Conversely, effective teacher-student interaction (? = 0.36), positive psychological well-being (? = 0.31), and a conducive home learning environment (? = 0.28) act as strong positive determinants. Furthermore, significant differences in concentration were observed across academic levels, while gender showed no substantial impact. The study concludes that improving cognitive engagement in digital education requires a holistic approach that integrates optimized screen time, interactive pedagogical strategies, and robust psychological support. With the rapid growth of urban population and the increasing number of vehicles on roads, traffic congestion has become a major issue in many cities. Conventional traffic management systems, which mainly rely on fixed signal timings and manual monitoring, often fail to respond to changing traffic conditions. This results in longer waiting times, increased fuel consumption, and unnecessary traffic buildup. In our project, we aim to address this problem by developing an intelligent traffic management system that uses computer vision and deep learning to analyze real-time traffic situations and make better decisions. The proposed system takes traffic video input, either live or recorded, and processes it frame by frame to detect vehicles and other road entities. For this purpose, a YOLO-based object detection model is used, which is capable of identifying different types of vehicles such as cars, bikes, buses, and trucks. From our observations during testing, the model was able to detect most of the visible objects with good accuracy, even in moderately crowded scenes. This forms the foundation for further analysis in the system. After detection, the system calculates traffic density and occupancy percentage. Instead of relying only on the number of vehicles, the system also considers how much area they occupy on the road. This gives a more realistic understanding of the actual traffic condition. Based on these values, the traffic is classified into categories such as low, medium, or high. In our testing, this classification matched well with the actual visual conditions in the video, which shows that the approach is practical and reliable. Another important feature of the system is adaptive signal timing. Rather than using fixed durations, the signal time is adjusted dynamically based on the current traffic condition. For example, if the traffic is low, the signal duration is reduced, and if it is high, the duration is increased. This helps in improving traffic flow and reducing unnecessary waiting time at intersections. We noticed that this feature makes the system more efficient and suitable for real-world applications. In addition to this, a simple dashboard is developed to display key information such as vehicle count, density percentage, congestion level, and signal timing. This allows traffic authorities to easily monitor and understand the traffic situation. The system can also be extended to include emergency vehicle prioritization for better handling of critical situations. Overall, the results indicate that the proposed system provides an effective and practical solution for traffic management. Although there are some limitations, such as reduced performance in highly congested scenarios, the system performs well under normal conditions. In the future, the model can be improved further and integrated into smart city systems for large-scale deployment.

The paper entitled "Recovery or Reinscription? Feminist Translation and the Politics of Representing Subaltern Women in Mahasweta Devi's Work," interrogates the ambivalent role of translation as both a site of recovery and a mechanism of reinscription in the representation of subaltern women, with specific reference to the English translations of Mahasweta Devi. Devi's Bengali writings foreground the lived experiences of tribal and marginalized women, articulating forms of resistance that challenge dominant socio-political structures. Translation has enabled these narratives to reach a wider, global readership, positioning them within transnational feminist discourse. However, this movement across linguistic and cultural boundaries is fraught with tensions. The study argues that while translation appears to "recover" silenced voices, it may simultaneously reinscribe them within hegemonic frameworks shaped by the target language, readership, and publishing industry. Through close readings of key texts such as "Draupadi" and "Stanadayini (Breast-Giver)", the paper examines how culturally specific idioms, subaltern speech patterns, and embodied expressions of resistance are negotiated - or, at times attenuated - in English translation. Particular attention is given to the politics of language, including the loss, transformation, or domestication of caste, gender, and indigenous markers. Drawing on feminist translation theory and subaltern studies, the paper conceptualises the translator not as a neutral mediator but as an active agent whose interpretative choices shape the contours of subaltern representation. It further explores the ethical implications of translating voices that are already structurally marginalized, questioning whether translation can authentically preserve subaltern agency or inevitably reframes it within dominant epistemologies. Ultimately, the paper highlights the need for more self-reflexive and politically conscious translation practices. By examining the tension between recovery and reinscription, it contributes to ongoing debates on voice, power, and representation in postcolonial literary and translation studies.

The teacher-student relationship is a cornerstone of effective learning, shaping not only students' emotional well-being but also their academic performance. While much research has been conducted from the perspective of students, there is limited focus on how teachers themselves perceive these relationships and their influence on academic outcomes. This study aims to explore the quality of teacher-student relationships and its association with academic performance from the viewpoint of teachers in Mysuru city. Using the Teacher-Student Relationship Scale (TSRS) alongside academic performance indicators, data will be collected from teachers across selected schools. The findings will provide insights into the ways teachers' perceptions of closeness, conflict, and support influence student achievement.

This research investigates the relationship between digital screen exposure and language acquisition milestones in children aged 1-6 years in Hyderabad, India. In an era of rapid digitalization, mobile devices have become primary caregiving tools, raising concerns about developmental delays. Using a mixed-methods approach (N=100), the study identifies that excessive screen time (>2 hours) correlates with noticeably delayed language development, affecting 55% of children in this category. Conversely, only 25% of children with less than 1 hour of exposure showed similar delays. The findings highlight that active parental mediation (associated with good development in 71.4% of cases) and educational content (66.6% good outcomes) serve as significant mitigators.

The present study examines the relationship between personality traits, perceived stress, and conflict management styles among young adults in the early stages of their professional careers. The transition into professional life introduces significant psychological and interpersonal challenges; however, limited research has explored the combined influence of these variables within early career populations. A quantitative, cross-sectional correlational research design was employed, involving a sample of 100 young adults aged 18-26 years. Data were collected using standardized instruments, including the Big Five Inventory (BFI-10), the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI). The findings revealed that neuroticism was positively and significantly associated with perceived stress (r = .331, p < .01), indicating that individuals with higher emotional instability reported greater stress levels. Openness to experience (r = .262, p < .01) and agreeableness (r = .236, p < .05) were also positively related to perceived stress, whereas extraversion and conscientiousness showed no significant associations. In terms of conflict management, conscientiousness demonstrated a significant positive relationship with the compromising style (r = .207, p < .05). However, perceived stress was not significantly related to any of the conflict management styles. Overall, the findings suggest that personality traits--particularly neuroticism--play a stronger role in shaping perceived stress than in influencing conflict management behaviour among early career professionals. The study highlights the importance of personality awareness, stress management interventions, and conflict resolution training in supporting employee well-being and workplace adjustment.
