 Abstract

The main objective of the study was to study the impact red mud waste lechate on a crop plant and to explore the possibility of replacing the rice crop by any other suitable crop. From the present study and the results observed from the study of other researchers of our laboratory indicated that the RMWE is deadly toxic and the rice crop should be replaced with green gram crop. It was observed that lechate leaking from the red mud pond flows as a small canal and contaminates the river. The lechate contaminates the ground water of the contaminated site and neighboring crop fields. The leached chemicals of red mud pond significantly affected the crop plants at sub-lethal concentrations. The intensity of impact increased with the increase in RMWE concentration. Seed germination and seedling establishment was severely affected in RMWE exposed seedlings. The leached chemicals / RMWE significantly affected the pigment contents of the exposed seedlings and altered the pigment ratio values of the seedlings. RMWE influenced the physiological activities and biomolecular content of the exposed crop seedlings thereby reducing the productivity of the crop plant. Significant increase in residual alumina content was noted in RMWE exposed seedlings. The residual alumina content in exposed root and shoot affected the studied parameters.

 Abstract

The goal of the "Driver Distraction Detection" project is to use computer vision and machine learning techniques to create a reliable system for the real-time detection of distracted driving behavior. Road safety is significantly threatened by distracted driving, which results in a high number of mishaps worldwide. This concept uses the on-board cameras in cars to continuously monitor driver behavior to address this problem. To locate the driver's face within the camera frame and identify important facial landmarks, the system uses tracking and facial detection algorithms. The technology determines the driver's attention level and detects indications of distraction by eye gaze analysis, eye blinking patterns tracking, and head position estimate. Using labeled data, machine learning models are trained to categorize driver behavior into focused and distracted categories based on attributes that are retrieved. The successful implementation of the "Driver Distraction Detection" project holds the potential to significantly enhance road safety by reducing the prevalence of accidents caused by distracted driving. This project aligns with broader efforts to leverage technology to mitigate risks on the road and create safer driving environments for all road users.

 Abstract

Fast dissolving tablets (FDTs) have revolutionized the pharmaceutical industry as a promising drug delivery system due to their ability to improve patient compliance. FDTs are designed to dissolve rapidly in the oral cavity without the need for water, making them ideal for patients with swallowing difficulties or on-the-go medication administration. They offer a rapid onset of action due to absorption in the pre-gastric area, leading to improved bioavailability. FDTs have advantages such as ease of administration, accurate dosing, improved patient compliance, and rapid onset of action, but also have disadvantages such as taste-masking issues and stability concerns. FDTs are prepared using two technologies: conventional technology and patented technology. Conventional technology includes freeze-drying or lyophilization, sublimation, spray drying, tablet molding, mass extrusion, direct compression, cotton-candy process, nanotization, fast dissolving films, and melt granulation. These techniques can be evaluated using various parameters such as shape, size, thickness, diameter, weight variation, friability, wetting time, hardness of tablet, in vitro/vivo disintegration time, dissolution test, stability study, and drug content.

 Abstract

The performance of India's equity-based Tier-1 National Pension Schemes (NPS) is assessed in this study for the years 2018 through 2022. It examines the market correlations, risk management, and financial returns of the best-performing pension fund managers using secondary data. The results show that returns have increased significantly for all listed managers, with LIC leading the way and HDFC, Kotak, UTI, and ICICI following. All managers had positive Sharpe ratios, which show returns over the risk-free rate in relation to expected risk, despite their differing levels of success. Based on its highest Treynor ratio, Kotak was the greatest performer in terms of risk-adjusted returns per unit of systematic risk. Nonetheless, weak positive correlations were found with the S&P 500 index, indicating a restricted degree of linkage with market movements. The research highlights the significance of continuous observation and recommends implementing effective tactics, such as risk optimization and diversification, that have been seen in top-performing managers. It also urges more study to overcome shortcomings and improve comprehension of equity-based pension plans in India. The present study provides significant perspectives for investors and policymakers, hence facilitating the progress of retirement planning and financial security in India.

 Abstract

One of the most popular drug delivery methods is transdermal because it has several benefits, including simplicity of medication application, self-administration, reduced drug metabolism, etc. Despite these benefits, the route still has many drawbacks. The transfer of medications to the systemic circulation through the skin, vagina, ocular, and rectal channels is known as topical drug delivery. Topical formulations are used to treat skin conditions. Although gels have many benefits, hydrophobic medication delivery is one of their main drawbacks. Therefore, an emulsion-based technique is being employed to get around this restriction so that even a hydrophobic medicinal moiety can benefit from gels with special qualities. Emulgel is the name assigned to the dosage form developed by combining gels and emulsions. Emulgel is the promising delivery system for hydrophobic medicines. Emulgel is an emulsion that is gelled in combination with gelling agents. The use of gels is emerging in both cosmetics and pharmaceuticals compared to other semi-solid formulations. Among the many advantages of gels is the major limitation of hydrophobic drug delivery. Therefore, an emulsion-based approach is used to overcome this limitation. Emulgel has several beneficial properties for dermatological use, including Thixotropic, fat-free, easy to apply, easy to remove, flexible, non-staining, long shelf life, transparent and attractive appearance. Therefore, emulgel can be used as a better local drug delivery system than current systems.

 Abstract

In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in instances of workplace sexual harassment and gender discrimination within professional environments. Workplace sexual harassment is a term used in legal contexts to refer to repeated and unwelcome sexual conduct that includes verbal, physical, psychological, and visual aspects. It is important to note that workplace sexual harassment often involves actions that can lead to humiliation, insult, and potential harm. The aforementioned conduct encompasses acts of gender harassment, unwelcome sexual attention, and sexual coercion. The spectrum of behaviors encompasses a variety of actions, including but not limited to making sexually suggestive remarks, sharing explicit imagery, and displaying hostility, all with the intention of devaluing the victims involved. The prevalence of harassment exhibits variation in research outcomes as a result of methodological disparities. Workplace sexual harassment is a prevalent issue that is often underreported due to concerns about potential retaliation. The present abstract underscores the significant issue of underreporting. In order to formulate comprehensive prevention and management strategies, it is imperative to have a thorough understanding of underlying factors such as power imbalances, stereotypes, cultural norms, and limited awareness. Proactive measures encompass the implementation of comprehensive anti- harassment policies, educational initiatives, and the cultivation of respectful and inclusive work environments. The practice of effective management encompasses several key elements, including but not limited to transparent reporting, maintaining confidentiality, conducting unbiased investigations, and providing support to victims. The importance of conducting research, promoting awareness, and fostering collaboration cannot be overstated when it comes to establishing secure and inclusive work environments. The occurrence of workplace sexual harassment has significant effects on various aspects of employment, including employee retention, absenteeism, workplace dynamics, and overall well-being. Discussions, which have historically faced societal disapproval, garnered worldwide attention following the emergence of the "MeToo"movement in 2017.The purpose of this research is to evaluate the consequences experienced by victims and the efficacy of current policies and legal provisions in the realm of employment.

 Abstract

Numerous human disorders, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and type 2 diabetes, are linked to amyloid proteins. Through the regulation of Amyloid protein deposition, some foods and vegetables can assist in the prevention of certain disorders in humans. Onions, kale, tomatoes, cabbage, and romaine lettuce are examples of vegetables. Additional food items such as walnuts, coffee, berries, fatty fish, turmeric, champagne, and cinnamon also assist with the administration of illnesses brought on by the buildup of Amyloids. This experiment uses a dataset that includes the aforementioned dietary items in an attempt to predict amyloid proteins. Neural Net Analysis and Gradient Boosting Classifier are utilized in this data analysis. Under the current system, people with amyloidosis see doctors after developing the illness. Preventing is always better than curing. By forecasting the Amyloids based on dietary habits, the suggested system helps avoid the disease. By enabling people to modify their eating habits, it prevents the occurrence of amyloidosis. The project's goal is to develop a tool for Prediction of Amyloid Proteins using Gradient Boosting Model.
