 Abstract

Beginning from the 15th century, Odia literature has been enriched by the mighty pen of eminent writers and poets like Sarala Dasa, Jagannath Dasa, and a host of others. A pan-Indian consciousness was present not only in the contemporary Odia literature but also in the treatment of the Jagannath cult. This work has established the identity of a race through their practices of socio-polity-economy basis and in their day-to-day life. The discussion in this essay has explored the work of Jagannath Das's Odia Bhagavata in the context of Odia identity and Odia nationalism.

 Abstract

This paper endeavours to analyse Thayil's poetry collection 'These Errors Are Correct' to have an insight depth of his artistic excellence. A poet's artistic excellence refers to his high level of skill, creativity, and mastery in his field. It is a subjective assessment of the poet's ability to create compelling and impactful poetry through the use of language, imagery, symbolism, rhythm, and other literary methods. There are some key aspects that contribute to the artistic excellence of a poet such as innovative and original voice, mastery of language, imagery and symbolism, emotional impact, sound and rhythm, depth of meaning, consistency, experimentation, universal relevance and enduring impact etc. with his sensibility to his contemporary surrounding. His writing style combines the lyrical and the mundane, resulting in a unique and compelling story. He is not hesitant to test the limits of traditional storytelling and poetic traditions. Thayil isn't hesitant to stray from the rules of traditional poetry and narrative. He frequently tinkers with language, structure, and narrative strategies to give his writing a unique and creative voice. He stands out as a superior artist because of his willingness to take artistic chances. Thayil is a multifaceted artist who, in addition to his literary accomplishments, is also a musician and performer. He was a founding member of the group Sridhar/Thayil, which combined poetry and poetry with elements of rock and electronic music. His artistic expression is enriched by his ability to take inspiration from a variety of sources of which the credit goes to his multidisciplinary approach. Jeet Thayil's work has received various honours and awards. In addition to being on the Man Booker Prize shortlist, he also won the DSC Prize.

 Abstract

The article explores the origin and evolution of Dark Romanticism as a disruption within the onset of the Romantic Era as a revolutionary movement. It attempts to trace the various discourses impacting the discussion around Dark Romanticism within the nineteenth century milieu and document its distinctions and parallels with other contemporary movements that ultimately led to its concretization as a genre. It acknowledges its contributions in assimilating the complexity of nature by encouraging writers to interrogate the previously veiled, deeper, and darker meanings of humanness. While Dark Romanticism expanded on the 'inhumane' of humanness, this article intends to analyze such characteristics in the short-prose work, "The Vampyre: A Tale" by John Polidori, which emerged as a confluence of Dark Romantic sentiments in 1819. The trope of the vampire created by Polidori is peculiar both, in being emblematic of real negative sensibilities and magnifying it to an extent that seems supernatural. It thus, becomes a work of interest in dissecting the idea of Dark Romanticism.

 Abstract

As urbanization is proliferating over the last few years there is an indispensable need for intelligent technology, digital surrounding, smart governance, and a sustainable environment to improve the quality of human life. As an outcome of the knowledge-based economy and accelerated development of technology Smart city is a combination of internet, network, sensors, etc. For implementing all the applications an emerging technology Internet of Things (IoT) acts as a backbone or one can say IoT is reaching urban living. The features and devices of smart cities are becoming smarter. The parameters like urban sustainability, infrastructure efficiency, and economic growth can be improved by the intervention of IoT. The aim of this chapter is to provide a comprehensive view of smart cities, its concepts, components and emergence. The table mentioned represents the established relationships between various sectors of industries and its services. Further in chapter the impact of smart cities on areas of science, technology, and society is illustrated. The focus is given to key applications, technologies and challenges related to IoT which are used in smart cities. The perceived concept of the smart city initiative will always remain critical for development and sustainability. The Future city is Smart and Economical.

 Abstract

The demonetizations in India in November 2016 occurred on a very different magnitude than those in Jan 1946 and Jan 1978. This time, Prime Minister Modi's administration& its regulations extended to 86.4% of the coins and bank notes in the circulation or 11% of the GDP. The two objectives of this strategy was to decrease black currency and corruption in the Indian economy and to improve financial inclusions& develop a more robust digitalized economy. Demonetization is the process of removing legal tender status from a monetary unit. The head of the administrator took unexpected action that has affected India & its finance sector. It has affected the economy's rate of growth broadly speaking. It affects consumer shopping habits as well as other societal elements like families and online enterprises. Demonetization has also had a short-term negative effect on the Indian economy, including a minimal GDP increase, the loss of wage-earner jobs in some sectors, Agriculture, and some adverse effects on the real estate market. Compared to large farmers, marginal farmers were more impacted regarding sowing, buying inputs, and selling agricultural products. The general public has shifted away from traditional cash-only transactional patterns and toward electronic transactions. The whole value chain of the textile and garment sector was impacted by demonetization. The citizens of India are now subject to many restrictions due to demonetization. They had to wait in queues to exchange their currencies, had issues with banks and ATMs to deposit their money and issue fewer goods and commodities because of a lack of cash liquidity.

 Abstract

An inflammatory condition affecting the skin's sebaceous follicles called acne. The purpose of this study was to create and assess a topical aqueous coriander extract formulation for the treatment of acne. The disk diffusion method was utilized to examine the antibacterial activity of aqueous coriander extract against Propionibacterium acne and Staphylococcus epidermidis, while the agar dilution method was employed to ascertain the minimal inhibitory concentration. Physical characteristics, drug content homogeneity, spreadability, extrudability, and in vitro diffusion were evaluated during the development and testing of topical formulations. It was discovered that the MIC value of coriander extract for acne and s. skin was 1.9 mg/ml and 2.2 mg/ml, respectively. The formulation Fa1 had the highest drug content (94%), in vitro diffusion (93%), maximum stability, and zone of inhibition, according to the data.
