Some factors like the increasing threat, unlawful behaviour and illicit activities utilizing energetic explosive materials for felonious & criminal and terrorism activities have praised the need for a reliable, rapid techniques but also an authentic investigation technique for analyzing pivotal puzzles found at the crime scene is required. Examination of explosive residues become more tedious since the residues of origin explosive material from post-blast samples are usually trapped and fused into surrounding. Application of DART-MS. method is suitable for untreated samples or even complete objects can be examined in the open environment without affecting sample quality therefore it is useful to security investigations also. This technique has emerged as a viable method for fast, easy, and reliable "ambient ionization" for criminal investigations. In this present paper efforts have been made to highlight its significant utility to analyse different types of explosive residues due to its ability to rapidly obtain a near complete chemical profile of a sample. Review will be an informative reference document to the forensic community.

Background: Febrile seizure is the most common type of seizure among the children which may be due to acute bacterial meningitis. Early diagnosis and treatment of acute bacterial meningitis among children with first febrile seizure is utmost necessity. In this study, we evaluated role of cerebrospinal fluid analysis among children with first episode of febrile seizure. Methods: Children aged between 6 to 18 months with first episode of febrile seizure admitted within 24 hr of seizure onset were enrolled. Clinical history, physical findings and vital parameters were noted. Cerebrospinal fluid was analyzed for cell count, sugar, protein, microbiological examination. Acute bacterial meningitis was diagnosed based on cell count>5/mm3, protein >100mg/dl and sugar <40 mg/dl or<50% of serum glucose in the cerebrospinal fluid. Results: Seven (14%) out of 50 children were diagnosed as acute bacterial meningitis. Other causes for febrile seizure were: upper respiratory infection (48%), diarrhea (18%), urinary tract infection (8%) and fever of unknown origin (12%). Three children with acute bacterial meningitis showed positive meningeal sign. In one case of acute bacterial meningitis, organism klebsiella was isolated. Body temperature; hear rate and respiratory rate were found significantly elevated among the cases with acute bacterial meningitis as compared to other cases. Conclusion: In children first febrile seizure, cerebrospinal fluid examination is important to rule out acute bacterial meningitis as the incidence was 14% in this study. Whenever meningeal signs are present with first episode of febrile seizure, there is a significant possibility of acute bacterial meningitis.

Women in Murshidabad district of West Bengal have contributed to the beedi sector right from its inception till date and also for the continuous improvement of the sector. The working hours are very high, and they spend 14-16 hours a day earning income to support their families. The wages they receive is less than the wages set by the minimum wages act. The women were less aware on the claims against health insurance, loan allowance provident fund which adds benefit to the bidi sector. The women being home based workers do not claim for better working conditions. There is no considerable investment made by the beedi industry on such labour force. The women supply a continuous and stable work force to industry. The work is learnt by every member of the family and thus continues without interruption. Since beedi employs large numbers of women workers, it adopts exploitative practices which affect women workers in general. The home workers are exploited more since they have no operative trade union forum as in the organized sector. This paper intends to explain the limited and confined lifeworlds of the women beedi workers of Murshidabad district of West Bengal. Though they are involved in beedi making sector with minimal wages for generations, there is no shift of occupational structure. Most of the beedi rollers are having low socio-economic status and living in poor housing condition. Due to exposure to the tobacco there is hazardous health condition of the women beedi workers particularly the women and young girl children. Besides, this paper also employed non participatory observation to bring out the ground reality of their everyday social lives. This paper further has tried to throw light on the women beedi workers of Murshidabad district of West Bengal and how they are being exploited and how they are in perpetual poverty due to their lack of education, unemployment and under-employment, less mobility and socio-religious practices.

A virtual classroom is a digital learning environment that enables real-time interactions between teachers and students online. In order to allow educators to conduct live classes, virtual office hours, and discussions with students in an interactive environment, virtual classrooms use video conferencing, online whiteboards and screen sharing. This study has been done to make the genes of English literature environment into a centralized network to access the learners in an easy and more efficient manner by using WSN (Wireless Sensor Network).

Introduction: ADS is not a static condition, described in absolute terms, but a life-long illness. It is a phenomenon that depends on the interaction of biological, social, and cultural factors, e.g., religion and the symbolic value of alcohol in each culture, that determines how the person can relate to the substance in the individual and social process of learning how to consume alcohol. One of the phenomena in this learning process is the emergence of abstinence symptoms. When a person begins to drink alcohol to alleviate these symptoms, a strong correlation is formed to maintain both the development and persistence of dependency. Aim: To study adjuvant yoga therapy's effects on Quality of life (QOL) in patients undergoing alcohol de-addiction program at de-addiction clinic, department of Psychiatry, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (MGMC&RI) in Pondicherry. Settings and design: 71 male patients undergoing an alcohol de-addiction program were recruited as subjects and randomly divided into Group A, who received Yoga therapy as per the CYTER protocol along with standard medication for daily sessions of 1.5 hours each, and daily counseling sessions for up to two weeks and Group B, who only received standard medical management. Methods and materials: Administration of World Health Organization (WHO) Quality of Life Bref version WHO 2004: WHOQOL Bref to all patients before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis used: JASP-0.9.2.0 software was used for Statistical analysis. Wilcoxon test was performed for intragroup comparisons, and the Mann-Whitney test was performed for intergroup comparison to arrive at the p values. Results: The scores in the intergroup comparisons were as follows: QOL- Physical health (p=0.0002), QOL- Psychological health (p=0.0053), QOL- Social relationship (p=0.2321), QOL- Environment (p=0.0212), QOL- Total Quality of life (p=0.0046). Whereas in the intragroup comparisons, the scores were as follows: QOL- Physical health (p<0.001), QOL- Psychological health (p<0.001), QOL- Social relationship (p<0.05), QOL- Environment (p<0.001), QOL- Total Quality of life (p<0.001). Conclusions: The present study supports previous studies on the benefits of Yoga and concludes that yoga therapy helps in spiritually improving the Quality of life of patients with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome (ADS).
