Enhancements of mechanical properties and wear resistance of epoxy using bi-directional fibers (E-glass and basalt) and fillers namely graphite have been systematically investigated in the present study. Fiber reinforced epoxy (G-B/E) filled with graphite (0%, 2%, 4% and 6%) were fabricated using hand layup technique followed by compression molding. Tensile properties were determined to evaluate the effectiveness of graphite fillers on the mechanical properties. The two body abrasive wear behavior was assessed by using a pin on disc apparatus under different loads (10 and 20 N) and different sliding distances (100, 200, 300 and 400 m). Results show that filler improved the mechanical properties and the improvement is more pronounced with the incorporation of graphite filler. The enhanced performance of filler filled G-B/E composites is due to better adhesion and good dispersion of particulates in the epoxy matrix providing increased surface area for strong interfacial interaction and better load transfer. The wear test results indicate that addition of graphite in G-B/E hybrid composites have significant influence on wear behavior under varied sliding distance/loads. The most important concept of this paper is to strength the importance of integrating fibers and functional fillers in the design of wear resistant polymer matrix composites

This paper presents two level data security in network system. Cryptographic algorithm BLOWFISH and Steganography algorithm least significant bit (LSB) are used for data security. Confidential information is encrypted by BLOWFISH algorithm, and then encrypted data hide into image by LSB algorithm of Steganography. For more security we used iris image of authorized person to hide encrypted data. The keys required for BLOWFISH algorithm is generated from same iris image. These two algorithms implemented on 32 bit ARM 7, gives better security for embedded systems like mobile, smart card, ATM etc.

Traditional therapies, including the use of dietary components for wound healing and skin regeneration, are very common in Asian countries such as China and India. The increasing evidence of health-protective benefits of phytochemicals, components derived from plants is generating a lot of interest, warranting further scientific evaluation and mechanistic studies. Among different plants showing positive activity towards wound healing, Capparis spinosa-C. spinosa has many active constituents such as flavonoids such kaempferal and quercetin . Nature fruits of C. spinosahave glucose as 1-H Indole-3-acetonitrile etc, whereas C. zeylanica has reported to have fatty acids such as E-octodec-7enynoic acid isolated from chloroform extract of the roots . Extracts of C. decidua stems and flowers showed insecticidal and oviposition inhibitory activities against Bruchus chinensis. the photochemical from these plant extracts were found to possess significant wound healing promoting activity. In the present study, we have identified 12 potent active constituents viz., Capparispine, Glucocapparin, kaempferol, kaempferol-7-rhamnoside, Polyprenols, Proline betaine, Quercetin, Quercetin-3-rutinoside, Rhamnetin, Rutin, Saccharose, Sinigrin for wound healing promoting ability. These active constituents were subjected for docking study using a well established target GSK 3 Beta responsible for wound healing process in human. Our results, indicated that Capparispine, Glucocapparin, kaempferol, Polyprenols, Quercetin, Quercetin-3-rutinoside, Rhamnetin have a potent wound healing property among other compounds. In vivo/ in vitro studies to validate the present finding and to understand the exact mechanism and potential targets of these phytochemicals are under process

This study presents Tambr, a new software for translating literature into audio using Topic Extraction and Sentiment Analysis for the way in which their timbre relates to the meaning and sentiment of the topics conveyed in the story. The durations, intervals and pitches of the output audio are generated using sentiment analysis which corresponds to sentiment of the text. Natural language processing algorithms are used for topic extraction in the text. Sentiment analysis is used to vary the intensity of the audio. The sounds generated by the system are very characteristics of ambiance music, as the emphasis was placed on selecting musical timbres that match with the themes of the text

In this article, the author reports a new class of Organic-inorganic Nano-composites (OINCs) prepared by electrophoretic codeposition (EPD) of electro-activated organic polymer matrix together with the inorganic nano- particles under the influence of dc electric field, followed by appropriate curing. The process utilises a commercial grade bifunctional epoxide polymer duly electro-activated and converted into an aqueous emulsion in which the nanoclay particulates (NP) of Montmorillonite (MMT) and Bentonite (BNT) are dispersed and ultrasonicated. The novel process permits the higher NP content beyond 8% by weight of the polymer in aqueous bath. EPD process parameters like, bath composition, applied voltage, time and electrode spacing, have been studied. The author highlights some results in one of the studies [7] showing significant improvement in physico-mechanical and dielectric properties, viz., adhesion (no peeling as per ASTM D-3359-87), corrosion resistance (after 800 h. exposure to 4% salt fog), increase in dielectric strength by about 2 times (36kV/mm), volume resistivity by 10 times (4.3 x 1016 ?cm) at 8% by weight MMT loading, as compared to the pristine polymer.

The evolution of newly developed methods in the field of architecture and engineering tends to improve the constructional aspects of the structures. The structures to be constructed in the present era should differ itself from the structures build in the past, keeping in mind its strength and aesthetical behavior. For any high rise structure, its major concern is to withstand the lateral forces like wind or earthquake. Although a conventional structure almost rectify these happenings but the performances can be maximized by using a diagrid or shear wall configuration. The diagrid and the shear wall systems opposes the effect of lateral forces and also helps in minimizing the net cost of construction. The diagrids helps to counter the lateral forces acting on the structure by its angular arrangements at the periphery thus eliminating the columns at the exterior of the structure. The diagrids performances can also be increased by increasing the angles of the diagrids. The shear walls helps in countering off the net shear forces by positioning itself either at the edges, periphery or at the center of the structure. The analysis of the factors like story displacements, story shears, story drifts etc are carried out and compared for both the conventional and the above mentioned structural arrangements.

From the onset of the space era, both organic-matrix and metal-matrix composites (MMCs), with high specific stiffness and near-zero coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), have been developed for space applications. Of the organic-matrix composites, graphite/epoxy (Gr/Ep) has been used in space for truss elements, bus panels, antennas, wave guides, and parabolic reflectors in the past 30 years. MMCs possess high-temperature capability, high thermal conductivity, low CTE, and high specific stiffness and strength. Those potential benefits generated optimism for MMCs for critical space system applications in the late 1980s. The purpose of this article is to detail the history, status, and opportunities of MMCs for space applications

Power quality is an important measure to give standard quality of power supply to its customers. This paper presents a comprehensive set of PSCAD models used to simulate various power quality disturbances on linear and nonlinear loads. The models presented includes distribution of line faults, energization of transformer that are used to simulate voltage sag/swell. Capacitor bank switching model is used to simulate the oscillatory transient event, nonlinear load models to simulate triple harmonic and voltage notch generated from the load side and lastly electric arc furnace model used to simulate flicker disturbance are also presented. This paper presents simulation of each of the power quality disturbance using Power System Computer Aided Design (PSCAD) software
