Abstract
The place of mind in the philosophical systems of India is briefly discussed. The philosophies selected are - Vedas, Upanishads, and Six systems of philosophies (saddarsanas), Gita and materialistic school of Carvaaka. That mind is of subtle physical nature and that self is postulated as higher than mind in the hierarchy is being pointed out. Mind can be man's own friend to elevate him or his foe debasing him. Modern neuro-science and the ancient materialistic schools do not subscribe to the existence of self. An integrated approach extending beyond the mind in psychiatric care is suggested. Scientific and technological advances do not necessarily preclude a transcendent (spiritual) dimension to the total care.

Abstract
Drying is an ancient method use for preserving food stock, over a period of time this method is sophisticated by the use of dryer. Green house solar dryer uses the thermal energy of the sun and principle of greenhouse effect. In this project we studied the most effective way of drying agricultural products like carrot, tulsi, potato etc. In a closed solar dryer, products are protected from rodents, birds, debris, rain and other environmental factors. There are various types of solar dryer available for construction; type can be selected according to the requirement and environment of drying. High temperature is achieved in a closed solar dryer which reduces the amount of time required for drying. Forced convection drying method which increases the flow of air inside the dryer and removes the excess of moisture to the atmosphere. Experiments were conducted by using sample of tulsi, carrot, chili and potato in which comparison was made between open sun drying method and close sun drying method.

Abstract
In this paper, there is a study of materials used in different layers of flexible pavements. There are some new materials which are used by Civil Engineers now-a-days. Materials of highway should be according to the specifications. Each property of materials should be accurate. Materials for every layer of highway should be according to the need of strength of load bearing capacity. The flexibility of this type of road depends on the distribution of forces from the surface through the layers.

Abstract
The core objectives of the study is to investigate whether Performance Appraisal (PA) significantly relates to business performance in Indian garment firms; to find out whether a significant difference exists between large garment firms and non-large garment firms with regard to perceived quality of PA and to reveal whether a significant difference exists between large garment firms and non-large garment firms with regard to business performance. Three hypotheses were formulated using deductive approach. The study was conducted by using a stratified random sample of 300 garment firms in India. But only 274 are are considerd for the study due to sampling error Type of investigation was correlation and it was cross-sectional in time horizon. The unit of analysis was organisational level: each firm. General Manager or Human Resource Manager served as the respondent on behalf of the firm. Measures of the study were of good quality after assuring reliability and validity. Data were possible to be collected from 68 garment firms-18 non-large firms and 50 large firms. In order to test the first that was concerned with relationship between perceived systematic use of performance appraisal system of a firm and perceived degree of business performance the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation technique was applied. The second hypothesis and third hypothesis were concerned with difference between large garment firms and non-large garment firms with regard to perceived quality of PA and perceived degree of business performance respectively and Independent Sample T test was the appropriate technique to test the validity of the two hypotheses. The results of the study showed a significant and positive relationship between perceived systematic use of PA system and perceived degree of business performance of garment firms in India. Business performance of large garment firms is significantly different from that of non-large garment firms.
