Aluminium metal matrix composites are used in various engineering practices. Properties of aluminium metal matrix composites are boosted by stir casting which is known as low cost manufacturing. Composite materials with extraordinary isotropic nature are factory-made using this technique. Today Industries look forward for the composite material being in good excellence as well low cost for various applications. It is perceived that fly ash is used as strengthening material due to its mechanical possessions. Density of fly ash adds as the major benefit for being the strengthening material. In current project work, various mechanical properties like tensile stress, impact strength, compressive stress, hardness, elongation are studied for aluminium 6061 T6. Further reconnoitered the properties of composite material wit fly ash at 3%, 6% and 9% with Al6061 at 97%, 94% & 91% respectively and compare the results with alloy 6061.

Abstract: Lanthanum fluoride (LaF3:Ce3+, Pr3+, Sm3+) synthesized by water soluble LaCl3 + CeCl3+ PrCl3 + SmCl3 and NH4F as starting materials in de-ionized water as solvent using microwave assisted technique. The structure of LaF3:Ce3+, Pr3+, Sm3+ nanocrystals analyzed by XRD and TEM analysis is found to be in hexagonal structure and average crystalline particle size is 20 nm (JCPDS standard card (32-0483) of pure hexagonal LaF3 crystals). The absorption edge in UV spectra is found at 250 nm corresponding to energy of 4.9eV. It further shows a wide transparent window lying between 200 nm - 800 nm. For LaF3; Ce3+, Pr3+, Sm3+ nanocrystals emission of blue color (458 nm) has been observed with at an excitation wavelength of 254 nm. The measured relative second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of LaF3: Ce3+, Pr3+, Sm3+ in de-ionized water with respect to KDP crystal is 0.186.

Ever since the end of the Second World War, peace and development has captured the interest of scholars and academicians and along with it began the pressing problem of eradicating poverty. In the year 2000, at the United Nations Millennium Development Summit, the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) was passed by leaders of various states with the reduction of poverty as the primary goal. Approximately two decades after the passing of the MDGs, the poverty reduction initiative has achieved significant success across the globe under various initiatives of different governments. Between the years 1990 and 2000, over 1.06 billion people have been lifted out of poverty and the percentage of people living under extreme poverty have been reduced from 43 percent to 14 percent. This has been achieved through universal education, prevention and treatment of malaria and tuberculosis, provision of clean water, and improvement of slum conditions. In the year 2015, for the purpose of achieving common development, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by various countries at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit that again laid its emphasis on the eradication of poverty as its primary goal. It is estimated that over 700 million people are still living in extreme conditions of poverty and developing countries are confronted with critical challenges of eradicating hunger, malnutrition, maternal and child health, as well as sustainable development. Progress in terms of poverty reduction remains unbalanced while the condition of Least Developed Countries (LDCs) has not seen any notable improvement. In this article, the objective would be to analyze the extent of poverty in the south Asian region. It would seek to analyze MDGs and SDGs in the context of poverty reduction in the south Asian context. Has globalization brought about a change in terms of poverty reduction in these countries? How has the human development program had its impact on poverty reduction in South Asia are initial questions that this article would seek to address? Following the initial remarks on poverty reduction, this essay would focus on the Chinese approach to poverty reduction. How and what has been the impact on poverty reduction in terms of the Belt and Road Initiative in the south Asian region and does China focus on poverty alleviation through its connectivity programs or regional cooperation mechanisms/initiatives are important questions that this article would seek to address.

Abstract Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is the most common cause of vaginal discharge in women of child bearing age, and constitutes one of the main purposes that drive women for obstetrics and gynecological consultations in developing countries. Bacterial vaginosis has become a global health issue because of its adverse effect in pregnancy and in the puerperium. This study is aimed to assess the pattern of Bacteria vaginosis & risk factors among pregnant women attending a secondary hospital New/Bussa, Niger State of Nigeria. A crossectional study was conducted. A questionnaire was used to capture socio-demographic data& practices that might increase the risk of BV.Vaginal swabs were obtained with the use of sterile swab sticks, smeared on clean glass slides and then Gram stained. The stained smears were observed microscopically for bacterial morphotypes using the X100 oil immersion objective and the Nugent scoring system to determine BV. Data analysis was done using SPSS version 22.0&were considered significant at p ? 0.05. A total of 170pregnant womenparticipated in the study with an overall prevalence of BV rated 17.6%. Age group 30-39yrs, parity (3-5), gestational age (3rd trimester) and secondaryeducation were significantly associated with BV, p< 0.05. Symptoms such as vaginal itching, Burning with painful urinationand characteristic of vaginal discharge such as colour, consistency&odour were significantly associated with BV, p < 0.05. BV was higher in the third trimester and many women admitted to practices that might increase the risk of these infections. In conclusion, the overall prevalence of BV in our study population is 17.6% and highest among women aged between 30& 39 years, Parity (3-5), gestational age (3rd trimester) & less educated pregnant women.
