 Abstract

As we all battle one of the most crucial times in our lives, with this Pandemic of Covid-19 that has spread like wildfire across the world, the pandemic is alone not the problem that the world is facing but Infodemic as coined by the World Health Organization, is much more scarier than it appears. According to popular statistics website, Statista, about 88% of the first-time voters in the 2019 elections said that fake news was a real problem. In a country like India, which is a home to the second largest population, spreading of fake news, especially among the illiterates is worrisome as they lack decision making or judgment of the news consumed or circulated before making a decisive choice to believe in them. More than 300 million people consume the internet in India and so are the active consumers of fake news that spreads among the social media channels which gain much attention, the more it is shared, the more likely they believe in that information. The Indian Government has taken measures to curb the fake news menace that had led to many killings and hate mongering in the past. PIB Fact Check, by the Press Information Bureau, has set up a fact check online portal where anybody can post a picture or a message, they have received via social media to check if it is indeed true. With its presence on Social Media platforms, PIB Fact check is making sure that the fake news is curbed right there before it is spread beyond the control and helps to encourage media literacy among the users. In this study, the researchers aims to analyse the fake news that were circulated during the COVID-19 Period i.e. from 22nd March 2020 to 2nd July 2020, with the help of content analysis in order to understand the types of fake news being spread and how effectively it was taken down by the PIB Fact Check.

 Abstract

The Agenda of 2030 of sustainable development is concerned the role played by India. It would be crucial at national as well as international level. The small farmers are cultivated most of the land in the nation. The ongoing trend of large scale land acquisition on the name of development i.e. infrastructure, industrial, or other possibly will redesign the national agrarian land. Such activities will extensively disturbing countryside populations and their livelihoods. Not only that but such contractions are constructing on the cost of damaging environment heavily, which also result into creation of imbalance to the environment, ultimately it would affected to the agriculture activities and agriculture production. Without rehabilitation and resettlement of those displaced people not only create hardship to them but also play a vital role in inflation of domestic production, at the same time it will create challenge for food safety of citizens. This study, through a literature review, analyses the negative impacts of Land acquisition with less compensation or acquisition without rehabilitation and resettlement. It is their hydrological aspects that reflects how they may have an effect on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 Abstract

In recent years, further studies have resulted in improvements in the design standard and the concrete quality has been greatly improved. For all of concrete-filled steel tubes are being employed in more constructions especially bridges, multi-story, and high-rise buildings. Hollow steel sections also can provide reduced weight and surface area when compared to equivalent open sections. Concrete filled steel tube (CFST) is a composite section integrated from a steel tube or a steel hollow section (SHS) with concrete filling inside the hollow part of the steel section. The steel section could be hot-rolled section or cold-formed section. However, the steel section type, grade, manufacturing, and concrete characteristic cylinder strength together control the overall section capacity. Concrete filled steel tubes combine the advantages of ductility associated with Steel structures, with the stiffness of a concrete structural system. After several pieces of research, it has been known that load transferred from the steel tube to the concrete by bond and shear connectors if the bond between the steel column and concrete inside is not made full use of, the flexural bearing capacity of concrete-filled steel tube column may not be fully acted. In this paper, an extensive parametric study is introduced to show the effect of concrete in the hollow steel section among different parameters. Moment rotation curves are plotted for various studied parameters as bolt grade, bolt diameter, pre-tension force, and endplate thickness. The main object of this research is to highlight the concrete filling effect on the connection between steel I-beam to steel hollow section column and studying the connection behavior in each parameter with and without concrete.

 Abstract

Everyone wants to see the world as a happy place. Education is said to have the power to make it possible. Everyone is aware of the present state where anxiety has become a major issue worldwide and adolescents, too, are affected by the problem caused due to high anxiety. With the view to find out a solution, the researcher conducted an experimental research. The objective of the research was to study the effectiveness of Sri Sathya Sai Method of teaching on anxiety of adolescents. Sampling was done through Simple Random Sampling. The sample included 520 students, both boys and girls, of class IX, from both government and private schools of Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The duration of treatment was 3 months. The researcher used experimental research method. The tool used was State Anxiety Scale by Dr. A.N.Singh. The Data was analyzed statistically using mean, standard deviation and ANOVA. The findings showed significant decrease in the level of anxiety where the mean scores reduced from to 55.20 to 34.12. The findings suggested that Sri Sathya Sai Method of Teaching can help the students in general and adolescents in particular when inculcated in the system of education in reduction of anxiety.

 Abstract

The Indian Ccnstitution in Part III provides equal political rights to all the citizens of India, including women. However, these rights are usurped and seized mainly by the male population of India. While women constitutes about 48 percent of the population (Census, 2011), their political representation in the 16th Lok Sabha consist only of 11.8 percent, which is the highest percentage in the history of independent India. According to a study conducted by Inter-Parliamentary Union, India ranks 149th in a list of 193 countries in terms of womens representation in the lower House (Lok Sabha) of Parliament as of July 1, 2017. To increase the number of women representation in the Parliament, a bill has been introduced several times and is known as the 108th Amendment bill of the Constitution (2008). The bill aims to raise the voices of women in both Houses of Parliament (Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha) as well as in the State assemblies by one-third. This paper seeks to draw the attention on this particular bill and its purpose to improve the representation of women in the political field. There are various reasons behind under-representation of women in India in the political field. Does the bill has provisions to ensure that the voices of Indian women representatives are heard in the decision-making process? Will this bill ensure assertion of their political right? The bill argues it will provide reservation for women representatives to take part in the political process. Does it violate the right of equal opportunities in the political realm? The paper would inquire about all these queries.

 Abstract

- Joining of dissimilar metals has discovered its utilization widely in power age, electronic, atomic reactors, petrochemical and substance ventures mostly to get customized properties in a part and decrease in weight. Anyway productive welding of divergent metals has represented a significant test because of contrast in thermo-mechanical and synthetic properties of the materials to be joined under a typical welding condition. This causes a precarious inclination of the thermomechanical properties along the weld. An assortment of issues come up in different welding like breaking, enormous weld leftover anxieties, relocation of particles during welding causing pressure focus on one side of the weld, compressive and tractable warm burdens, stress erosion splitting, and so forth.

 Abstract

Automatic recognition of people is a challenging problem which has received much attention during recent years due to its many applications in different fields. Face recognition is one of those challenging problems and up to date, there is no technique that provides a robust solution to all situations. This paper presents a new technique for human face recognition. This technique uses an image-based approach towards artificial intelligence by removing redundant data from face images through image compression using the two-dimensional discrete cosine transform (2D-DCT). The DCT extracts features from face images based on skin color. Feature-vectors are constructed by computing DCT coefficients. A self-organizing map (SOM) using an unsupervised learning technique is used to classify DCT-based feature vectors into groups to identify if the subject in the input image is present or not present in the image database. Face recognition with SOM is carried out by classifying intensity values of grayscale pixels into different groups. Evaluation was performed in MATLAB using an image database of 25 face images, containing five subjects and each subject having 5 images with different facial expressions. After training for approximately 850 epochs the system achieved a recognition rate of 81.36% for 10 consecutive trials. The main advantage of this technique is its high-speed processing capability and low computational requirements, in terms of both speed and memory utilization. KeywordsFace recognition, discrete cosine transform, self-organizing map, neural network, artificial intelligence.

 Abstract

The influence of social media has increased tremendously on our day to day life from last few years. On an average in India we spent 3hours, 30 minutes per day or 70.1% of daily media life. It has a direct impact on our cultural beliefs and social habits. People use social media for many things, such as socialising, finding and information sharing. It has revolutionised the way people communicate and socialise on web. The use of social media is increased in the electoral political culture also. From 2014 general election, the traditional election campaign strategy has been replaced by social media management by candidate. It is now a common exercise by the students election candidates also to use social platform to reach the voters.
