 Abstract

Background: Autopsy as a word means self-study of dead body. The importance of lung diseases in Pathology and Clinical Medicine is well known. Aspiration of amniotic fluid with meconium represents one of the cause of perinatal mortality. Meconium aspiration syndrome (MAS) described as respiratory distress in an infant born through meconium-stained amniotic fluid whose signs cannot be otherwise explained. Aim: To know the prevalence of MAS in the neonates dying within 24 to 48 hours of admission and with unknown cause of death. Materials and Methods: Present was a retrospective, non- interventional and cross section study conducted at Department of Histopathology and Pediatrics at a Tertiary Care Center, from July 2018 to June 2020. Total 42 cases of MAS (Medico-legal) were included. Results: Out of the total 520 autopsy cases, 42 cases (8.08%) showed MAS as the cause of death. 32 neonatal deaths were within 24 hours of birth (76%) and 10 neonatal deaths were within 48 hours of birth (24%). Male to female ratio was found to be 2.5: 1 with male preponderance. Conclusion: The histopathological diagnosis of MAS on neonatal autopsy correlates well with clinical cause of death.

 Abstract

Primary pulmonary hypertension and its management: A complete review Abstract Idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (IPAH) can present at any age from infancy to adulthood and remains a progressive fatal disease. Right ventricular (RV) function is the most important determinant of the prognosis. Although there is no curative treatment available for IPAH, the therapeutic options available are pharmacological treatment with drugs, surgical treatment with lung or heart- lung transplantation and the newly devised interventional therapy includes the Potts shunt(PS). Potts shunt has emerged as a new surgical alternative to lung or heart-lung transplantation with prolonged survival and persistent improvement in functional capacities. This article will highlight the current status of different treatment options available for IPAH with their results.

 Abstract

Government of the people, by the people, for the people, sums up the definition of modern- day governance and puts in focus the necessity to fulfil the aspirations of the people. Fulfilling the commitment requires principled and efficient governance structure. Governance has the dual nature of being good and bad and therefore, impacts people, society and ipso facto the state. The subject of governance is relevant in discussing human security. The paper postulates that ethics and people centric governance are prerequisites for nation building and human security. The congruence of concepts of the science of administration of a pre-modern era (17/18 Century A.D) with the writings of the Arthashastra, establish the importance of characteristics and principles necessary for administration in any form of government. Cameralism is one such concept which placed people above everything and is a useful idea to extrapolate for administrative and economic practices of the modern society. The current pandemic encompassing the global community brings to focus the necessity of recalibrating the way we see humanity and perhaps restructure our priorities to the people rather than narrow selfish needs. The subjects of good governance thus go beyond the scope of ethical governance as a foundation for national security.

 Abstract

The origin of towns came into being as early as 6000-5000 B.C. but these were mostly based on Neolithic agrarian culture. Later on with the inventions of plough, wheel cart, boat, metallic implements, etc., and also system of watering fields ushered development and valleys of Nile, Tigris, Euphrates, and Indus started surplus food-grains production. Consequently, there evolved a s social organization in which certain strata comprising religious, administrative, trading and artisans communities could appropriate for themselves part of the produce grown by the cultivators. Such groups settled in towns to perform non - agricultural activities. In the river valleys, thus began a culture of certain groups who were having skill for writing, accountancy as well as knowledge of solar calendar and bureaucracy. There in the real sense town cult began around 3000 B.C. After this up to nearly 2000 years, the ancient urban process ceased. Early cities went into eclipse.

 Abstract

To bridge the gaps between traditional miso scale modeling and micro scale modeling, the National Center for Atmospheric Research, in collaboration with other agencies and research groups, has developed an integrated urban modeling system coupled to the weather research and forecasting (WRF) model as a community tool to address urban environmental issues. The core of this WRF/urban modeling system consists of the following: (1) three methods with different degrees of freedom to parameterize urban surface processes, ranging from a simple bulk parameterization to a sophisticated multi?layer urban canopy model with an indooroutdoor exchange sub?model that directly interacts with the atmospheric boundary layer, (2) coupling to fine?scale computational fluid dynamic Reynolds?averaged NavierStokes and Large?Eddy simulation models for transport and dispersion (T&D) applications, (3) procedures to incorporate high?resolution urban land use, building morphology, and anthropogenic heating data using the National Urban Database and Access Portal Tool (NUDAPT), and (4) an urbanized high?resolution land data assimilation system. This paper provides an overview of this modeling system; addresses the daunting challenges of initializing the coupled WRF/urban model and of specifying the potentially vast number of parameters required to execute the WRF/urban model; explores the model sensitivity to these urban parameters; and evaluates the ability of WRF/urban to capture urban heat islands, complex boundary?layer structures aloft, and urban plume T&D for several major metropolitan regions. Recent applications of this modeling system illustrate its promising utility, as a regional climate?modeling tool, to investigate impacts of future urbanization on regional meteorological conditions and on air quality under future climate change scenarios.

 Abstract

The world has been witnessing an enormous change. The concepts like growth or development and advancement are taking place due to Globalization. Therefore, the organisations or companies are in search of new vistas to improve, motivate and to unravel the innate talents and potentialities of the employees of their respective sectors by which they can retain the best work force. These major changes are reshaping the modern world significantly for betterment. Human Resources Movement began to concentrate more on the needs of the individuals rather than the interactions within the working groups. The Human Resources Movement considered the worker as largely pre-motivated to perform to the best of their abilities. Later, it becomes the task of the management to set certain conditions whereby workers can meet their own individual goals and at the same time as meeting those of the organisation. Rewards under the Human Resources Movement therefore include a wide range of factors, such as money, affiliation, achievement and performing a meaningful job etc. The novice of Life Insurance in its modern form came in to India from England in 1818. Oriental Life Insurance Company which was started by Europeans in Calcutta was the first Life Insurance Company on Indian Soil. All the insurance companies established during that period were commenced with a motto of looking after the needs of European Indians were not allowed to avail the services of the companies.

 Abstract

The Doldrummers (1960) is a play by Asif Currimbhoy in two acts subdivided into a total of four scenes that deals with the lives of four Anglo-Indians caught in the meaningless struggle for survival which leads to their disillusionment with the society they live in. Colonial hangover persists which has its hold on the lives of these characters due to which they are unable to create their identities. Their inability to succeed in professional and personal life lead them to a feeling of frustration and despair. The degeneration that follows is the result of immoral life which they lead due to a lack of purpose in life. Currimbhoy has earnestly portrayed the life of shack dwellers living in the suburbs of Bombay with all its poverty and disagreements, its loves and small joys and has successfully portrayed their basic humanity. The play aims at studying basic human emotions and relationships.

 Abstract

The COVID 19 has brought new challenges for the manufacturing industry. The type of layout change will largely focus on the nature of the manufacturing tasks, volume and variety of the products including the norms of social distancing. Therefore it is important for any sector to develop their way of working around the recent problems yet maintaining World Class Standards. This paper provides a review of the comparison between old and new industry layout. It provides the beneficial information of the latest layout with new methods and installing the new technology in the industry layout for optimum productivity, maximum safety and minimum health risks. In this paper, the current layout of an industry is examined and a new layout is proposed based on the traditional plan of layout to reduce the risky interaction. It has opted processes layout. The number of available inventories have been analyzed. The study review operation-process data, activity-relationship data and the intermigration between equipment and area has been seen. The proposed industrial layout depicts the reduced distance of material flow which improves on the touch time of handler. The implementation of the proposed layout may help in the productivity of industry without hampering the health.
