 Abstract

The challenges in road management, particularly in regulating traffic and mitigating conflicts on smart city roads, are a pressing concern. This paper aims to determine a risk index for safety prediction, assess the performance improvement of safety measures, provide early accident warnings, and determine the fatal rate using trajectory methods to analyze driver behavior, road safety, traffic flow, and vehicle behavior in Bhopal city. The analysis reveals that the highest risk index is concentrated between 5 PM and 7 PM, with peak values observed on Sundays. The findings are based on an examination of various days at different time intervals on smart city roads, particularly focusing on aspects such as driver behavior, vehicle interactions at junctions, and curves. Peak traffic congestion hours are identified as occurring between 5 PM and 7 PM, with slightly elevated traffic volumes between 9 AM and 10 AM. The study underscores non-compliance with traffic rules, including issues like malfunctioning signals, U-turns in the same lane, unauthorized parking, and vehicles encroaching on pedestrian crossings as contributing factors to heightened risk during the identified peak hours. In conclusion, this research provides insights into the challenges and risk factors associated with traffic management and safety in a smart city context, emphasizing specific time frames and days with elevated risk indices. The findings can inform strategies for enhancing road safety and traffic management in Bhopal's smart city road area.

 Abstract

Sarcasm detection is a vital component of natural language processing with relevance in various real-world applications. Sarcasm, characterized by statements that convey the opposite of their literal meaning, can lead to misinterpretation and misunderstanding in textual data. Therefore, the necessity for sarcasm detection arises in applications such as sentiment analysis, content moderation on social media, customer feedback analysis, text summarization, and human-computer interactions, including chatbots and virtual assistants. Detecting sarcasm ensures that sentiment analysis accurately reflects the intended emotions, aids in maintaining respectful online environments, and enhances customer insights. This research paper presents a sarcasm detection model that leverages pre-trained word embeddings from GloVe (Global Vectors for Word Representation) combined with a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural network architecture. The goal of this study is to develop an effective model for detecting sarcasm in textual data. The heart of the proposed model is the LSTM layer, a type of recurrent neural network that can capture contextual information in sequences. The model is trained on a labeled dataset of text examples, with binary labels indicating the presence or absence of sarcasm. Experimental results demonstrate the model's effectiveness in detecting sarcasm, with a focus on achieving high accuracy and generalization performance. A visualization of the learning process shows the convergence of training and validation metrics over epochs. The combination of pre-trained embeddings and LSTM architecture highlights the potential for improved sarcasm detection in various applications, including social media analysis, sentiment analysis, and content moderation. This research contributes to the ongoing development of natural language understanding models and their application in sarcasm detection.

 Abstract

Mathematics is well known as the father of all sciences. Each student in their day-to-day life must achieve certain vital goals and objectives. Mathematics is the backbone for prosperity in every field of life. The current state of learning of Mathematics requires urgent attention to determine effective strategies for enhancing students' achievement and saving the nation from plunging into mathematical anarchy which will dim the nation's quest for scientific and technological development. Information Communication Technology (ICT) provides teachers with foundational tools and means to help teachers change teaching methods, support students in independent learning, and actively participate in the discovery of concepts in Mathematics and students gain deeper understanding of Mathematical ideas. Among many approaches for effective teaching learning process, Multiple Intelligence Theory-based teaching is one, which asserts that learning environments should be designed considering individual differences. Therefore, the study determined whether the achievement of students taught through ICT Mediated Multiple Intelligence based teaching will differ from those taught through conventional teaching in the classroom. The study was a quasi-experimental pre-test post-test control group design. The population of the study consist of all secondary CBSE school students from Mysore city of Karnataka state. One CBSE school was purposively selected with 75 sample students of two different sections of the same class were randomly selected as experimental group (37) and control group (38), sample had 31 Girls and 44 Boys. The experiment group was taught Mathematics using ICT Mediated MI Based teaching while the control group with conventional teaching. The instrument for data collection was a researcher made Mathematics Achievement Test with a reliability coefficient of 0.71. The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and ANCOVA. The result of the study revealed that ICT Mediated MI Based teaching was effective in enhancing secondary school students' achievement in Mathematics and minimising gender gaps.  Abstract

Abstract: The instructional designs in schools are focused on supporting content knowledge but may not be sufficient to promote scientific reasoning ability among students, which is an important factor in improving student performance in science learning. The present study intended to identify the Scientific Reasoning Ability of Secondary School Students. In the present study, the descriptive survey method was used for the collection of data. The size of the sample was 100 students of 9th class from district Shimla of Himachal Pradesh, who were selected through Random Sampling Technique. To analyse the data, the Statistical techniques used in this study were Mean, Standard Deviation and 't'-test. The result of the study showed that among the five dimensions of scientific reasoning ability (i.e., Inductive reasoning, deductive reasoning, analogical reasoning, eclectic reasoning and classification as a reasoning), secondary school students have higher mean scores in Inductive reasoning, deductive reasoning and analogical reasoning, while low mean score were shown in eclectic reasoning and classification as a reasoning. Further, it was revealed that the boys and girls differ significantly in analogical and eclectic reasoning dimensions. Mean scores of boys were higher than girls in inductive and analogical reasoning dimension while, means scores of girls were higher than boys in deductive, eclectic and classification as a reasoning dimension of scientific reasoning ability. These findings point to the necessity of placing more focus on identifying scientific reasoning ability patterns among students so that scientific training as well as informal learning opportunities could be designed to improve scientific reasoning ability among students.
