 Abstract

The increased healthcare interventions and recurring significance given to social welfare programs by Governments, both at the Centre and State for more than 60 years had increased the life expectancy of the people and have given time of leisure to rejoice the precious moments of life. It is noteworthy for a developing country in South Asia where often, human development interventions lack to register such a drastic increase in the indicators of health and life. The world has seen many instances in the past where nations had not lent their active support in geriatric care and left those needy in despair and deprivation. As men-tioned above, India, due to its philosophy of elderly wisdom and obedi-ence, have managed to win their hearts and worked tirelessly for their specific needs.

 Abstract

The present paper is about the contribution of Indian writers in English. Its origins can be traced back to Anglo-Indian literature, which is a result of Indo-Anglian connections. As a result, English writing in India is greatly impacted by English writing. It resulted in the birth of a new nation and people. The use of the English language has increased rapidly in all professions. It establishes Indian English writing as an unique form of literature. The benefits and drawbacks are balanced by the presence of more English and English men in India. At first, Indians concentrated on reading, speaking, and learning. They eventually began writing in English. Raja Rammohan Roy, as a link between India and England, sparked a revival in modern Indian literature. He believes that Indians need to combine their traditional strength with new scientific disciplines. For Indian writing in English, Rammohan Roy and others participated. The beginning of Hindu or native schools is considered as a sign of new life. This new situation poses a threat to the West. Bengal's Ramakrishna Paramahama attempted to preserve Indian culture. After Ramakrishna Paramahma's death, his wife, Swami Vevekananda, founded the Ramakrishna Mission. Some of the verses were written in Bengali by him. Since the English language was recognised, a great number of Indians have been writing in English to maintain Indian culture and assimilate western society.

 Abstract

For many years after Einstein proposed his general theory of relativity, only a few exact solutions were known. Today the situation is completely different, and we now have a vast number of such solutions. However, very few are well understood in the sense that they can be clearly interpreted as the fields of real physical sources. The obvious exceptions are the Schwarzschild and Kerr solutions. These have been very thoroughly analysed, and clearly describe the gravitational fields surrounding static and rotating black holes respectively. In practice, one of the great difficulties of relating the particular features of general relativity to real physical problems, arises from the high degree of non-linearity of the field equations. Although the linearized theory has been used in some applications, its use is severely limited. Many of the most interesting properties of space-time, such as the occurrence of singularities, are consequences of the non-linearity of the equations.

 Abstract

In the 21st century the role of translation has become even more significant. Translation studies are not only an interesting but a challenging job also it is highly skillful action and profession in the twenty-first century. Translation practice is an intercultural activity through languages, with adequate sensitivity and knowledge of the cultures of both the languages, the translator becomes a mediator who creates the scope and means to transfer the meaning and experience of the original text into another language. In this paper, I intent to explore the role and scope of translation in the globalized world. How translators play a vital role to build a bridge between two different cultures, language and customs.  Abstract

The first week of April produced two landmark judgments for multinational pharmaceutical companies trying to make their mark in India. On April 1, the Indian Supreme Court denied patent protection for Glivec . On April 5, the Delhi High Court dismissed a claim by Merck's Indian subsidiary , that Mumbai-based Glenmark Pharmaceuticals should be barred from marketing generic versions of the hit diabetes drugs Januvia and Janumet. By allowing generic versions of these three drugs to flood its market, India seems to be sending a strong message that pharmaceutical manufacturers outside its borders will not have unlimited pricing power over its market of 1.2 billion people. India's denial of patent protection, therefore, raises questions about the pharmaceutical industry's ability to make a profit in the world's second-most populous country -- and it adds fire to the debate over whether the industry's obligation to provide access to life-saving drugs should outweigh its drive for profits. The decision of the Indian Supreme Court to deny Novartis' application for patent protection for an improved version of its Glivec drug - the culmination of a seven-year battle - has certainly made world headlines and put the spotlight on generic drugs and the practice of evergreening, which could have a significant impact on the local pharmaceutical industry
