If, by some means, we could draw up musicians and other people from past centuries and cultures, they would think it strange that the functional values of music are not well understood by all because for them, these values were the main purposes of much of their music. A similar attitude would be held by representatives from many contemporary cultures. They would be quite sure that certain music made them brave, other music would gain the attention of their gods and yet other music would cause them to be successful in making love. In spite of the present very proper concern for the aesthetic or beautiful in music, there are many occasions in which the primary consideration is not beauty alone. For example, congregational by purposes other than the purely aesthetic; march music on the field is primarily for marching ; dance music on the floor, for dancing. So, also, does industrial music have aims more primary than the entertainment values of the music. It is carefully planned to elicit certain responses which would have no consideration or at best very little in the concert hall.

Tanks are part of an ancient tradition of harvesting and preserving the local rainfall and water from canals and rivers for later use, primarily for agriculture and drinking water, but also for sacred bathing and ritual. Often a tank was constructed across a slope so to collect and store water by taking advantage of local mounds and depressions. Tank use is especially critical in parts of South India without perennial rainfall where water supply replenishment is dependent on a cycle of dry seasons alternating with monsoon seasons. The tanks are many centuries old and managed mainly by the community as most of the tanks are small in size. The system of managing tanks through community participation is also many Centuries old. But, the performance of tanks has been deteriorating over the years owing to various reasons. Tank irrigation system is less capital intensive and has wider acceptance compared to major irrigations. Tanks can be effectively used for development of backward areas. The main motivation of this paper is to examine the importance of tanks, types of Tanks and role of tank irrigation in Pondicherry.

Infectious diseases like Spanish Flu,TB,Ebola,SARS and influenza have been some of the leading causes of deaths around the world especially in low-income countries despite the progress made in medicine. The previous outbreak of Ebola,SARS and influenza around the world shows that these infectious diseases are have become a constant threat to human existence. Healthcare stakeholders and researchers have found innovative ways to support the health care sector especially efforst toidentify the the spread of infectious diseases [1]. The application of machine learning and the use of artificial intelligence is currently changing the way the spread of the diseases is addressed by modeling the course of the virus and also finding new strategies for containment. While governments around the world collaborate with local officials and healthcare professionals to monitor, respond to and slow the spread of infectious diseases, health experts utilize predictive modeling to improve current intervention to avoid further infections. The development of mathematical tools allows scientists to better predict the spread of infectious diseases, consider each pathogen's specificities and define possible priorities for the delivery of vaccines. Big data analytics can be invaluable in responding to deadly outbreaks, as they can analyses massive quantities of information, like health information, trends of human behaviors, and environmental factors [1]. This research aims at exploring potential applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence by governments in identifying the spread of infectious diseases. This section covers a variety of selective applications to explain how artificial intelligence and machine learning advances the control of infectious diseases like TB,influenza and Spanish Flu and how it allows health institutions to better address them.
