luminescent europium was successfully synthesized by using 5-fluoro-2-hydroxyacetophenone (FHAP) hydroxyketone ligand. The composition and structure of the FHAP ligand and its complex were supported by various techniques such as IR, NMR and CHN elemental analysis. The UV-visible and photoluminescence spectroscopy were used to explain the sensitization or antenna effect of the organic ligand. On successful irradiation at 397 nm, the emission spectra of complex showed narrow characteristic peaks at 580 nm, 592 nm, 616 nm and 652 nm corresponding to the 5D0?7F0, 5D0?7F1, 5D0?7F2, and 5D0?7F3 electronic transition of the europium ion. Among these peaks, the electric dipole 5D0?7F2 transition noticed the most intense peak which was hypersensitive to the site symmetry of europium ion and associated with the red luminescence of the complex. The CIE color coordinates of the complex fall in the red region of the chromaticity diagram. These results suggested that the light harvesting organic ligand FHAP absorbed the energy and transferred to the metal ion through sensitization process in an effective manner. On the basis of above results, we can be concluded that the complex possesses the candidature for light emitting materials and devices.

A ?-hydroxyketone 5-fluoro-2-hydroxyacetophenone (FHAP) was employed to synthesize the green light emitting terbium complex. The various techniques such as CHN elemental analysis, IR, NMR, UV-visible and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy were used to characterize the ligand and complex. In the emission spectra, three peaks at 491 nm, 545 nm and 592 nm observed which were assigned to the 5D4?7F6, 5D4?7F5 and 5D4?7F4 transitions of the terbium(III) metal ion. The electric dipole 5D4?7F5 transition dominated in the emission spectra which was sensitive to the chemical environment of the terbium ion and controlled the green luminescent color of the complex. The CIE color coordinates (x and y) fall in the green region of the chromaticity diagram. The optoelectronic properties demonstrated that the terbium(III) complex can be applied as luminescent component in display devices.

In Proposed study work we explored the kinetic and mechanism of oxidation of Propane 1,2-diol by Isoquinolium bromochromate in aqueous acetic acid medium because it is an ecofriendly, cheap, non-hazardous and easily synthesized in chemical laboratories and available in market. Proposed study work was carried out at 2980 K, we have analyzed oxidation of Propane 1,2-diol by isoquinolium bromochromate in aqueous acetic acid medium. Reaction follows first order kinetics at low concentration of Propane 1,2-diol with trend towards zero order at its higher concentration with respect Isoquinolium bromochromate and the reaction is acid catalyzed. In order to study the effect of catalyst ions were chosen as CuSO4 and MnSO4 were taken as the cat ions sources of Cu++ and Mn++ ions. The effects of these ions were studied by adding varying concentration of Cu++and Mn++ to the reaction mixtures, keeping the concentration of substrate, oxidant and composition of acetic acid water and temperature constant.
