Various layers of zirconia coated on cast iron plates and steel discs by plasma spraying. Micro hardness was studied to get a better understanding of their mechanical behavior. Coatings selected for this investigation were zirconia-5% CaO, Zirconia-8% yttria, zirconia-20% yttria and alumina zirconia coatings.

In this study, the surface of a piston in a diesel engine was coated with molybdenum nitride (MoN) by using the arc PVD method, and its surface behaviour was subsequently analyzed. Analyses of microhardness and surface roughness were carried out in order to examine surface characteristics of pistons. It is found that the hardness of coated piston is 2010.8 400 HV while hardness uncoated piston 125 HV. The results show less deformation and fewer scratches due to wear on the MoN-coated piston as compared to uncoated one.

This paper attempt to gain a understanding on a main issues affecting this management in medicines of hospital by defining and analyze the logistics inefficiencies executed by the hospitals pharmacy. The field research was conducted in a Northern American hospital which represents a main research sites. Three other hospitals and other healthcare organization have been involved in order to validate empirical evidences. We focus on multiple sources such as observations, process mapping and semi-structured interviews in order to allow triangulation and strengthen the validity of results. From the reception of medicine at hospitals to their distribution to the hospital pharmacy, we identified an number of inefficiencies, namely incorrect inventory management, medicine shrinkage, intensive manual labor, long procurement cycles, time consuming product reprocess and improper use of technology.

In this paper we implement a smart security system using a camera via ip with an ultrasonic sensor module to enhance the intruder alert in absence of our surrounding. The ultrasonic sensor has a transmitter and a receiver that measures the distance of the intruder. The ultrasonic sensor is set in a rotating motor to cover a wide range. The Ultrasonic sensor emits ultrasonic signals into an open environment. A rotating motor is used to allow the sensor to cover whole 360 degrees. If the signal ever hits any objects, it will be reflected back to the receiver of the sensor. The microcontroller unit (MCU) will periodically check for the receiver signal of the ultrasonic transmitter. If the receiver output is high, the MCU will perform distance calculations of the object from the sensor and sends a text message to mobile via GSM module. The text message displays the alert for the user to know the presence of intruder. The user can then view the video stream via ip camera to know who the intruder is, if it is a known person the user can give a command through a app to unlock the door and let the person inside the house.

In the urban areas, the electrical cables run in underground instead of overhead lines .Repairing overhead wire breaks can be accomplished in hours, whereas underground repairs can take days or weeks. Diagnosing fault source is difficult and entire cable should be taken out from the ground to check and fix faults. The project work is intended to detect the location of fault in underground cable lines and inform the base station in prior. This prototype uses voltage sensing circuit which checks continuously for the fault in the cable. In case of fault, the voltage across the cable changes accordingly, which is then fed to an ADC to develop precise digital data to a programmed PIC , the fault location is updated to the base station using IOT . The fault occurring location is also displayed on LCD interfaced with the PIC micro controller.
