Moisture-induced damage is one the major causes of deterioration of asphalt pavements and extensive research has been conducted on this topic. Theoretical and experimental results have led the researchers to believe that moisture-induced damages are caused mainly by the generation of pore water pressure in asphalt mixtures when traffic passes over a pavement. The Moisture Induced Sensitivity Tester (MIST) has been recently developed to simulate the phenomenon of repeated pore pressure generation and deterioration in the laboratory. The objective of this study was to evaluate moisture-induced damage in asphalt mixes, with the use of MIST, pre and post testing, and analysis of data. The MIST was used to condition Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) samples that were compacted from five mixes, with different types of aggregates and asphalt binder. A modified Dynamic modulus test in Indirect Tensile Mode was used for the determination of damage. A layered elastic model, along with a fatigue-cracking criterion, was utilized to assess the total impact on the pavement lives. Monte Carlo analysis was conducted to determine the distribution of number of repetitions to failure of pavements that are subjected to moisture damage. The major conclusions are that most of the mixes are likely to experience a reduction in their life due to the effect of moisture and that the Micro-Deval and the fine aggregate absorption test results can be related to such damage. A composite factor, consisting of both of these test results, is recommended for regular use by the DOT to screen mixes with high moisture damage potential.

A methodology is presented to detect high- impedance faults in radial distribution feeders by means of fault identification methods reasoning. The proposed technique is based on the analysis of the feeder responses to impulse waves which are periodically injected at the feeder inlet. Secondary substations are usually equipped with short-circuit detectors only indicating that an over-current has occurred for a given line. In case of a fault, further information about type and location is required to recover an assured grid operation as fast as possible. Conventional algorithms for fault detection used in high voltage grids are not well suited because of the high uncertainties regarding current and voltage measurement in secondary substations.

This paper introduces a packaging machine using electro-pneumatic system in small scale industry. The main aim of the paper is to design and fabricate a simple and small packaging system which can seal the plastic bags. For automation, we will use pneumatic system for fast response. In last few years, many sealing machines were developed. These machines are highly automated, which have very high cost. So, these machines are not affordable by small scale industries. S0, they are using impulse heat sealer machine. But, there are losses of plastic packaging material due to manually press. To overcome these problems, we will design a machine, which is semi-automatic, less laborious and have less initial cost. We are using major components like Air compressor, Double acting cylinder, Air storage tank, 5/2 Direction control valve, SMPS( Switch Mode Power Supply), a foot operated push button switch, a heat sealer, and tubes for air supply. Unskilled or semi-skilled operators can operate this machine, hence required less labor cost. Also, due to fast response, production per day is increased. Perfect sealing can be obtained due to applying required exact pressure on the plastic material.

Viburnum punctatum Buch.- Ham.ex D.Don (Viburnum acuminatum Wall) is a therapeutic plant belonging to Caprifoliaceae family, under the order Dipsacales. It is a monotypic sort Viburnum, local to India, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia and China. It is ordinarily called "Konakaram" in Tamil. It is a little evergreen tree, regularly found in sholas and damp woods, over 1200m in South East Asia. A significant number of these species are perceived for their restorative properties from early circumstances of this century. The leaves, stem, barks and roots of huge numbers of these species have been researched recently and have been appeared to have different cytotoxic, antimicrobial, antinociceptive, antispasmodic, and uterine sedative properties. In the present investigation, the preliminary phytochemical analysis was carried out on four different solvents and the ethanolic extract of Viburnum punctatum stems has been subjected to GC-MS examination. GC-MS investigation of the ethanolic extract eluted the presence of eight peaks exhibited and the six major chemical constituents were found. They were identified as 12-Phenyl-2,3,7,8- tetramethoxy - 5H - (1)- benzapyrano [4,3-c] isoquinoline, Tetradecamethyl cycloheptasiloxane, Hexadecamethylcyclooctasiloxane, 5- (Hydroxymethyl)-2-(1-methyl-2-2-imidazolyl)-1H-benzamidazole, 1H-Purin-6-amine[(2-fluorophenyl]-(CAS) and 1,4-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, bis(2-ethylhexyl)ester.

Thermal energy storage strongly reduces energy consumption. Storage devices of thermal energy from phase change material (PCM) are essential in solar thermal and waste heat energy technologies that reduced the mismatch between the energy supply to demand and enhance their thermal performance. The storage of PCM thermal energy is more beneficial than sensible energy storage because of its high density of storage energy per unit volume/mass. The work carried out on performance evaluation of phase change material (PCM) storage with evacuated glass tube solar collector. Paraffin wax stored in small cylindrical polypropylene containers is used as the PCM. The containers are packed in a commercially available, cylindrical Thermal Energy storage tank. The PCM storage advantage is we can check the performance of evacuated glass tube solar collector with PCM or without PCM. It was found that the use of the suggested configuration can result in 8 to 10 oC advantage in the stored hot water temperature over extended periods of time.

Plants assume a vital part in our condition. Without plants there will be no presence of the world's biology. Be that as it may, as of late, numerous kinds of plants are at the danger of termination. There are an immense number of plant species around the world. It is likewise important to indentify the plants for their usage in restorative properties and utilizing them as wellsprings of elective vitality sources like bio-fuel. There are a few approaches to perceive a plant, similar to blossom, root, leaf, organic product and so forth. Watching the leaf of a tree or bush is an amazing method to decide the species. Qualities, for example, shape, size, surface and how the leaf is orchestrated can help recognize the kind of plant when natural product has not yet framed. Leaf include extraction on organic product leaf picture is as yet being an issue on programmed plant leaf recognizable proof. In this investigation three diverse leave species to be specific Plectranthus, Scared fig and Bauhinia tomentosa are tested by utilizing picture handling calculations. The plant leaves are procured by advanced camera. The procured pictures are improved by applying middle channel at that point changed over to parallel picture. In the twofold picture edges are recognized utilizing Sobel operator and further the distinguished edges are diminished. Leaf highlights, for example, height, width, centroid, region, border, equli-separation and roundness are ascertained. The last stage is to perceive the leaves highlight utilizing Classifiers. The three classifiers from WEKA apparatus in particular Navie Bayes, Multi Layer Perceptron and J48 are connected. The examination reports 90.32% exactness for characterization under J48.
