She is the protagonist of the novel. Nora is 35 year old woman lives in Bedford, England. She leads a lonely single life with her cat and often compares her life to others. By continuous misfortune following the death of her father and her cat she decides to end her life, instead of dying she wakes up in a magical midnight library that changes her life upside down. She finds herself between life and death and given opportunity to choose her life she always dreamed of .The midnight library with is filled with books that has different versions of her own life. The novel revolves around Nora and her choices made in life which makes her sick and tired of the imaginary world and realizes the worth of living and returns to reality. By the end of the novel Nora realizes that even life is hopeless sometimes our existence still matters. Various themes like Butterfly Effect, String Theory and Identity theory are highlighted in the novel to show the self-discovery and identity.
